Thank you! Normally I have buyers remorse, but not after paddling and taking this trip lol. And unless you want a really good workout lol, maybe try the opposite direction because as you’ll see in Part 2 paddling against the current on the river was brutal. Hopefully one day we’ll see ya out there. Be well!
Thank you! It still give a moment of silence when I think of the story about what happened when you first got your new canoe. I dread the thought of that cracking sound lol
@@ADKAddicts Geez. You remembered that story?? Absolute nightmare. I am like a bull in a china shop and am rough with everything. My dogs don't help with my case either. It hasn't sunk yet though. LOL I can always send it back to Swift to get repaired for a reasonable price. Good company to work with. So excited for you!!!!! I don't know about this rolling thing though. You boys need to toughen up and carry those canoes! Especially a Swift! They are so light!
Haha…we do carry them just not when we’re going such long distance with heavy things like a cooler and other odds and ends. With the wheels we can single carry even with that stuff. For a light weight trip with only water filters and dehydrated food we can single carry with the bags and yokes.
Seeing Logan baby a canoe is so funny, the days of just smashing through and over rocks and trees has come to an end lol. Great video guys, looking forward to part 2!
Another great video guys. If you ever decide to take that trip again go the other way on Floodwood that takes you to Rollins Pond and a couple of short carries your back on Fish creek. Also there is a really good brook trout stream off the Stony Creek ponds, I am not going to mention the name here but Jay and tell you about it. Waiting anxiously for pt..2
Thanks Michael. We’re gonna do the trip starting in Long Lake though probably next year and have a nice leisurely float down the river. We’ll find that stream and fish it for sure.
looking forward to seeing the next part. looks like you are having a great trip. always nice to get at least one trip before the new boat gets marks on it. enjoy your fall. bill
Beautiful Cruiser...i'm curious how your going to like it? I'm tossed between a Cruiser 14.8 and a Prospector 14 i'd think your Cruiser should cut and track really well. Hopefully you made a few cast at Little Square (my stompin grounds) really good bass & pike fishing. Great video guys !
Thanks Randall. John here. We’ve camped with someone recently who has the Prospector 14 and I’d say unless you have a ton of gear you need to carry I’d go with a Cruiser. You’ll enjoy paddling it much more, it will track better and just feel like your flying on the water. As always Randall thanks for the support. Logan will be talking more about the boat I’m sure.
@@ADKAddicts Thanks John, that's the kind of advice i'm searching for,the narrowness of the Cruiser and tumblehome design i'm sure make it stable and yet cut the water nicely. Please keep bustin on Logan about his matching canoe & gear,it was hilarious. Funny thing...i try and do the same LMAO.
We were gonna stay on the ponds the first night and fish the area hard Charlie but we ended up having to sleep in the back of the truck the first night. Having to make up time on that long trip we moved through there pretty fast. We knew the paddle UP the Raquette was gonna be some work but it was way more than we anticipated even. Thanks again for watching and commenting, we appreciate you.
Nice new canoe! From the Next to that! What an upgrade. This is a trip I am interested in

@@JC-sj2pd Thanks! “It’s Good in The Woods” is a awesome channel and the perfect statement because it is always good in the woods. Great channel name!

Whoa! Congrats on your new Swift! It's gorgeous! Don't get any cracks in it!😉I have a ton.

Another great video guys! Logan's new boat is Saweeeeeeet!
Thanks Paul!
Thats exciting having a new boat.
Logan was extremely excited…and I was slightly envious lol. Thanks for watching.
Great video man. Best way to start an adventure. New canoe, fish on right at launch, and some bonus fish all the way to long lake.
Much appreciated, thank you! It was a great start for me, but in Part 2 the struggle is real lol. Have a good one!
Nice vid. I enjoyed the mix of paddling, fishing, cooking, portaging....
Thank you. We appreciate y you oh taking the time to watch it. Part 2 should be out later today.
@@ADKAddicts looking forward to it.

Bad ass canoe

Yeah you guys definitely got some exercise going upstream on the Raquette.
The closer to the falls and then the lake we got the faster the water was moving. It was a struggle as you’ll soon see.
@@ADKAddicts I can imagine, I've done the Long lake to Axton landing a few times and you move right along.

Don’t worry we’ll never stop busting on each other 😁
@@ADKAddicts True. I went with the 14 pack canoe because I paddle with 2 dogs and gear.
You guys skipped over some great fishing at fish creek
