I like how half of Ron's testimony is what happened and the other half is pretty much just making fun of jam

This is why internet attorneys need to stop giving out legal advice. You do not get to attack someone and “invite” conflict then sue when someone hits you. A punch to the face in this circumstance would more than likely fall in the reasonable category. You pushed a man twice he gave you multiple chances to stop and leave the area you had no right to be in then you get hit 1 time. Good luck convincing anyone what you did was unreasonable or negligent in anyway. If was a 80 year old boy man in a walker and you punched him in the face? Diff story.

The civil liability is if a guest or otherwise authorized person injures themselves on your property.

If this were a real situation, Jamm would have literally zero chance of winning anything in court. NUMEROUS witnesses saw him drunkenly disrupt a wedding, harass the bride, and most importantly attempt to attack Ron first. It really doesn’t matter whether Ron wanted to punch Jamm or not, since his actions were justified.
Exactly and I dont know why Ron left out that huge bulk of context. He attempted to remove an interloper from a wedding, he was accosted twice, he retaliated in self defense.
Well not in the US. 1. If you are white you usually get off. 2. If you are a male you usually get off 3. If you have more money you usually get off for the Grand Slam if you are a 4. White rich male you get off.

Ron did the right thing both ethically and pragmatically. You could drive a truck through Tom and April's testimony and it would backfire on Ron if he didn't make them recant their testimony.
That lawyer is an idiot, the moment Ron pointed out Jamm attacked first and his client didn't deny it he should've been panicking, cause his assault case just turned into self-defense. Plus his client was drunk, belligerant, uninvited to a private event, and possibly most importantly hurling biological weapons around. Yes they were stink bombs, but I know from experience with searching such products, stink bombs, itching powder, etc. they're illegal to be used on other people without consent and purchasing for that intended purpose is a crime.

Jamm is the perfect example of that one person everyone has in their life. The one you occasionally look at after hearing them say something so profoundly stupid, you can't help but think to yourself "they are gonna say the wrong thing to the wrong person one day, and end up in the hospital. And I can't tell if I really wanna be there to see it or not even know it happened."
I have been the express ticket to the hosptial for several people like that

The second that Ron said that he was defending himself his lawyer should have slammed on the brakes and hard.
Continuing to take this case to court after it came to light that Jamm attacked first makes him possibly the worst lawyer ever on TV.
The fact that all his team said he wanted to punch jamm in the face and yet never did until jamm attacked him makes his defense all the stronger. we all say things we are going to do and never do and the fact he said how much he wanted too so many times and restrained himself shows they were just fantasies (again, until he was attacked first)
This whole thing is silly. No Judge would waste 5mins on it. Jeremey tried to provoke Ron but Ron didn't respond other than warn Jeremy not to hit him again. Jeremy chose not to heed the warning and struck Ron again. Ron defended himself. There were multiple witnesses and film of the incident. Jam would actually have trouble finding a lawyer to take his case. The judge would have no choice but to utter the magic words "" ............. I find for the defendant (Ron S) with costs against the plaintiff"". THE END

Ron told the lawyer he acted in self defense, and that could easily be corroborated by dozens of eye witnesses. Jamm is lucky no one on that show knows anything about law. This is definitely a time where Ron actually having a lawyer would have been handy because they would have caught that and the suit would either be tied up in litigation or they would have settled out of court without the shenanigans later in the episode.
Whether Ron says he wants to hit you repeatedly or not, you made a spectacle, started a fight and got knocked out. Everyone saw.

While the lawsuit episode was funny, I find it hard to believe any court wouldn't have thrown Jamm's case out immediately. He crashed a wedding, actively tried to disrupt it, publicly slandered someone, and responded to a polite warning to leave by threatening escalation and technically assaulting his "attacker" twice. All while being intoxicated in public.
As a judge, I would have thrown his suit out while laughing. Audibly. To his face.

I didnt understand the reason behind this scene: there were like 500 witnesses that he punched Ron two times, brought chemicals to a wedding to "throw a stink bomb" and shattered glasses all over the place.

May I point out Mr. Jamm arrived uninvited and intoxicated to a wedding ceremony and dropped stink bombs in front of the bride and groom to which Mr. Swanson asked Mr. Jamm politely to leave. Mr. Jamm refused, dropped another stink bomb, and shoved Mr. Swanson. Mr. Swanson then warned Mr. Jamm if he continued this behavior, he would get punched in the face. Mr. Jamm continued his childish rant, shoved Mr. Swanson again, and Mr. Swanson delivered what he promised.
In other words, he (Jamm) started it!
Nowhere in those memories does Ron say he intends to punch Jamm in the face. He simply expressed a desire to do so.

The problem for Ron’s case is he said that he barely registered the attack. To claim self defense, you must reasonably believe that you are about to suffer physical harm. Based on Ron’s testimony, he did not so potentially there is no self defense

The only problem I have with this is that Jamm had it coming and he’ll always have a coming. Ron should’ve snapped him in half like a twig.

Just looked it up. When asked to make a statement of his own, Ron is straightforward and declares he regrets nothing. Feeling that Ron's future punishment is on them due to their damning testimonies, Andy, April and Tom storm into Jamm's office and blackmail him into dropping the lawsuit - the trio found that Jamm's affidavit was not entirely accurate. Jamm is forced to call his attorneys and admit "he got Jammed".
Ron never said he intended to punch him. He fantasized about punching him. Then Jamm attacked him and made Ron's fantasy come true.

I always like the Ron/April interactions. Ron is uncomfortable, and sitting and playing with his hands. Which makes April uncomfortable, and she's sitting and playing with her hands...
So Jamm went from dropped from one punch and being a snitch, to tanking an entire day of slaps and facing his own problems, granted without any confidence- but the history books are always written by the winners.
