Great game, I don't care what the main protagonist looks like male or female, graphics are gorgeous, enemy design is amazing, gameplay is tight and the music is great. That's all I care about

I care what the main protagonist looks like! Have you seen the next Fable and can honestly say that doesn't bother you, then hats off to you. If Steller Blade had that Fable "chick" or the new SW Outlaw character as the protagonist I guarantee the majority would reject it outright.
Right. Lots of attention to Eve's "assets", but I don't think anyone would care if it wasn't attached to a genuinely fun and beautiful game. The jiggle physics are just a very welcome bonus really.

I’ve been a PlayStation fan since 95’ and Stellar Blade has that PlayStation essence from the early 2000s especially the soundtrack…been eyeing 👀 this game since it was first announced…combat, music, graphics etc 10/10 day fuckin 1 purchase for me

It's got that vibe. Started out as a bit of a clone actually, but I think it's really developed it's own personality. It's slower than Nier, and more like a Soulslike than a fast paced Devil May Cry thing.

Its worth getting the ps5 for some amazing ps4 exclusives.. Theres no decent ps5 exclusives ... It looks very cool in your media setup shelf, however.. Its dvd and blu-ray, but i found out too late.. the ps5 does not play any CDs whatsoever.. Xbox series x does, but Sony dont support cds

Ever since I learned how to perfectly counter and perfectly Parry back in the original soul caliber, I have absolutely loved Parrying also!!

I pre-ordered it as soon as it was available. Loved the demo! Might leave my physical copy sealed, buy the digital deluxe on PS5, then buy it again when it's on PC for the mods (😉)

Clayton plays games? Why am I finding this out now... I will be buying this game. Two words: " 'Dat a$$!". Also, Clayton, if you want a game where you like a good parry then you should play "Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice". It's also an considered to be the hardest of all the From Software "souls-like" games.

The optimisation of this game is incredible. I play on resolution mode, and the framerate was still buttery smooth. There were no fps drops that I could see.

So glad you played this game Clayton. I pre-ordered my physical copy a few weeks back too. I'm not going to play the demo i want to go in fresh.
Since you mentioned the older Tomb Raider games. I've been playing Shadow Man Remastered and its like if Tomb Raider was a Metriodvania. Its very dark and twisted do not let the kids watch you play it. Or decide after you beat the game. Its a Mature rated game for a reason and about ten bucks on sale.
I've also been enjoying Outcast : A New Beginning a cool Double A action adventure RPG. Its like a sci-fi just cause in terms of action. I think you would really like it.

This game and also Capcom's Pragmata is what defined PS5 visuals when their first footage dropped 3 or 4 years ago. Cant believe we are finally nearing its release. Now just need more on Pragmata.
The combat fluidity is excellent and something extra to add to your comments, the monster design is incredible. Great review. Looking forward to wait a year for the game to be released on PC 😢.

I knew I was going to get the physical copy the moment the opening sequence started. That was one of the most entertaining and epic openings in gaming of recent memory (for me).

Playing the demo reminded me of the demo for Nina Gaiden on the original Xbox.

Ninja Gaiden on the OG Xbox was an awesome game - also, I think the first boss was also the hardest. it's sequels were pretty good as well
@@rolytnz yep but the first boss showed us to be aware to the movements and sounds of the enemy so we could learn to dodge then strike. Such a great game, I think I have played it more times than any other.

Yeah already pre ordered. Played the demo, but stopped because i didn't want to see too much. ;) But I got enough out of it to know I would love to play full game.

If you like that, you should play the Nier series, both are great but Stellar Blade has close ties to Nier Automata.

Something to add on the game. The main character is Eve and your 'Oracle' is named Adam.
Also Zion was named after the Hebrew city in the old testament and angels are supposed to be influenced from The Book of Revelation.
I am very interested to see how these religious elements integrate with the main story.

Would love to buy it but I'm a Gen X, Xbox gamer and as I get older the PS positioning of the analog sticks hurts my hands after awhile.

Not really, they're completely different things. Classic TR has also been dead for quite a while. The modern games are nothing like it. I did like them, especially the 3rd game's focus on exploration and puzzling though. And the 2 isometric action-puzzle-platformers are great as well and those do feature the real Lara Croft and not reboot faker. Stellar Blade seems to take heavy inspiration from Nier Automata more than anything.

If you want a fantastic parrying game, I recommend Sekiro. It is incredibly satisfying. The combat is intense, and the deathblows are epic.
Anyway, I’ve been obsessed with Stellar Blade. I’m unlocking everything I can in the skill tree before the game releases, so I can transfer my save.

Buy it out of principle, and play it for a fun action packed experience.
3 Bosses: BRUTE; ABBADON, & STALKER
I would compare the combat more to Jedi survivor and or Sekiro than Spider-Man and Prince of Persia for sure. I would also compare the saves more to those games as well since it's functionally identical. The button mapping is nearly identical to fall in order and so is the healing animation.
Would love to see your take on Dragon's Dogma 2. It has one of the most unique multiplayer driven components: the pawn system.
Yeah it's on my list. I want to finish Dragon's Dogma 1 first though. Huge backlog!
@@ClaytonMorris I hear you. I think you can totally skip part 1 if you wanted to, part 2 doesn't really tap into the events from one so much if I'm not mistaken. Pretty much gets rolling with a new arisen at the start of the game and tells a completely new story.

@@ClaytonMorris Yes there is! It was a limited run, so it might be a little more difficult to find a sealed Switch copy for the original price of $29.99. I know for sure it can be picked up digitally on Switch, PS, Xbox, and I believe PC!

Finaly a normal person rewieved this game. He talk 10 second about her and done, then just action and gameplay.
After Stellar Blade, the next game on your list should be Ghost of Tsushima. Amazing game with great combat.
