When they first talked about what made them develop the game in a certain direction followed by the fact that we got 10m of live gameplay demonstration, and they just show of some new weapon or enemy.

People being paid to write, do and say all that corny stuff. Movies and stars being involved. For an event about video games. It's just so bizarre it's funny.
The MaxPayne bit was magnificent. It made that cringe fest bearable.

My favorite part was how besides FF14 and Elden ring they pretended most non Western games didn't exist. Even moving RPG of the year off the main stage because anime tiddies bad and Neir replicant a game from a director who Games Journos hated for 2Bs booty got snubbed.

The only reason to watch this shitshow is Josef Fares. This whole "award" show has turned into massive adfest with some boring ass cinematic reveal trailers and other bullshit, I mean Geoff is just rapidfiring those awards left and right in 5 - 10 seconds and then talking about grubhub for like 5 minutes. It's like he still is the Dorito Pope, but he's adapted to make it less obvious.
All of it is the epitome of gaming's stupid philosophy to ape movies as much as possible

Kinda disappointed on the reveals, but Josef Fares winning GOTY after the "f*ck the Oscars" was priceless. You could just tell he was just waiting for that. All it needed was "Sweet Victory" playing in the background to make it perfect
Alan Wake 2 reveal is all I ever wanted, but they could have done it without a 30-minute long foreplay and without 2 hours of cringe that followed after it.

I know it's basically impossible at this point but I really need this industry to have a 2nd crash. The western side of it, I mean.
This is insufferable. I still remember back in 2006, gaming events were so much fun and entertaining from start to.finish. This is a nightmare that never ends. And before anyone says it, no, it's not nostalgia, you have to be stupid to not see how much worse it is now (or too young, which makes your opinion invalid because you don't know how things actually were back then).

This doesn't even need commenting on, the editing is enough. Jeff going 2x, 4x and 8x for the most important awards really sold the entire experience of watching 4 hours of game awards without having to watch 4 hours of game awards.
