Well you get a credit for one book per month and 2 free audible originals. So use that credit for a book worth more than $15? I have never used audible but I'm currently looking into it. The good thing is you get to keep the audiobook even if you cancel your membership
As Urano explained. You also get a 30% membership discount which makes audiobooks cheaper than other sources out there. You can also buy extra credits for 11$ or so which I use to buy a 20$ audiobook. They offer a lot of sales and daily deals which is great. Some services like scribd have unlimited access to their library for 9$. But their library is not as extensive as Audible but still very large. You don't own any book so once you cancel your membership that's it. Unlike Audible where you own the audiobook even if you cancel your membership.
@@katgirlblue Your account and membership are two seperate things. After membrship cancellation you'll lose your membership advantages but not your account. You can acess your books through the app or website. Pre-purchased books will be delivred even after cancellation. You'll still be able to purchase books but at full price.
One major perk about audible is that if you cancel your membership all the audiobooks that you have bought is your forever that is why I love audible over all other audiobook apps
Not so fast....15Feb 2023. I just completed and cancelled my free 30 day Audible Trial. When I cancelled, the Audible associate said I could keep only ONE book. She said I could choose, so I did. WRONG. The book I got to keep I've read twice and listened to already. Now Audible/Amzn is offering a free 3 month trial. Glad I cancelled. Audible/Amazon always gives out false information, keep that in mind!
Their website says "What you get. 1 audiobook and 2 Originals on us. 3 titles every month after you join." That doesn't say anything about a 'credit'. How I understand that is- You get to pick one audiobook of your choice a month, and pick two from their selection of the month (originals) for your subscription of $14.95/Month. How it is explained makes it seem like you get a $15 credit to put against any audiobook you want, and get two free from their Originals. So why would I subscribe when the subscription cost is the same as my supposed discount of 1 credit ($15)?
1 credit = 1 book. No dollar value associated. So you pay $15 for 2 originals, 1 credit (aka book), a digital newspaper subscription, and 30% off any additional audiobook purchases. If you just buy an audiobook from Barnes and Noble or someone they are typically $20-25
Don’t love it. Otherwise they’ll never be forced to NOT be mediocre. At the moment they really are very mediocre. All they’re doing is paying narrators to read a book and then sell it, this makes for a lack of consistency and quality throughout the audiobooks, also, it should have more features to be able to deal with complex books. They also don’t specify book editions and for some they use old and others they use new. Very. Very inconsistent. So... yeah it might be convenient but it is far from perfect and we should do something about it. There are so many amazing books ruined by shitty narrators or lack of features.
why would Storytel complain of copyright issues to UA-cam and have Ben Gently Spoken, an ASMR reader, shut down for reading Harry Potter Books? I am so P***** off. He was great.
I tried to buy a book on Audible, and it said sign in with your Amazon account, which I did, but it kept telling me "Invalid." I've had the Amazon account for years, and was on the site on the tab beside Audible, but Audible kept insisting that no account exists. I just got so fed up, so I clicked on Cancel this book, and gave up. So annoying. My library doesn't have the book I want, so I guess I have to try Audiobooks. But can't you just buy one book? Why do you have to keep paying every month? That's what I don't understand.
You don't have to have a membership to buy an audiobook from audible but you will pay full price for that audiobook and it can get very expressive that why it's better to have the membership because u get a major discount
I don't have much experience but I think setting up a separate profile on audible would help the cause. Then you integrate the two accounts, I think. Again, not much experience, but I wanted to help
@@lou6227 I'm pretty sure I tried that but it didn't work. Anyway this is so long ago now I forgot about it. Now I just use Hoopla, where you can borrow audio books, or ebooks and when the borrow expires you just do it again.
