They set it up in Madras (1688), then Bombay (1727) and Calcutta (1727). They started ruling India only in 1757. They bring legal framework wherever they go. I think the real reason is that property prices are 4 to 5 times higher compared to US and Canada. Also, native people does not believe in savings and wants to enjoy life vs. immigrants who in general earns many times more than per capita income invest their surplus in India in property or in stocks. For example, renting 1200 sq ft. Apt. In Geneva downtown will cost CHF 3750 p.m. Vs. cost of owing the same property would be minimum CHF $2 million plus monthly maintenance costs extra.
someone is buying because of that other can avail rent option.. so its not like majority people opting for rent.. no matter its india or anywhere there are still majority of people who invest in real estate .

I read that with new taxation, PMS investors will be at a loss compared to MF investors. Every churn by PMS manager will entail STCG but MF investors need to pay tax only on redemption. Unless PMS manager doesn't churn much. Unlikely as even in your small case, churn happens like every three months- something is sold and replaced every three months.
MF , LTCG and STCG calculated on unit purchased by you, so if units remain same through out 365 days than you will be fine with LTCG, even mutual fund curn the stocks man times.

Yes it is true. But DTC was shelved as it was observed it was not simplifying to the extent as thought to be.
There are many benefits of DTC & rate of Taxes will also come down as all income will be taxed ar flat rate

Loan - 35 lac
Rent - 25000 per month
How would the ROE be calculated??
Would it be 12%
25000x12/25000
Or loan amount would also be considered
Calculate ((current market price-last yr price)+ (rent-interest)) /last yr price. No need to calculate anything else

I am working in Saudi Arab, L&T . Monthly salary is 2.5lakh and monthly exp is 50,000 and planned to work in Saudi for 2 years. Want to invest invest in stocks for min 5 to 10 years view at my own risk.
I want to take loan of 15Lac @11.25 pa for 24month with EMI of Rs 93,447 at my own risk.
Only want to know that shall I take loan now or wait for correction.

Is CAMS the custodian of liquidbees or liquid case? In a bear market s it safe to keep 1 or 2 Cr in that fund as dry powder? And is liquid case which you regularly use, the only one that gives some +ve returns ?
In Bear mkt even liquidbees goes down due to redemption pressure. I have seen it trade around 950-955 when ideally it's value should be 1000 on any given time.
