Thank you for the detailed explanation of everything. I’m using version 4 but watching this video allowed me to understand so much more.

Thanks for walking through this. I have a hard time keeping up with all the modifications discussed over at discord. I'm never sure what version I'm looking at since it seems to get tweaked and I'm not always sure of what changes are made. BTW, I used the 2.1 version as a basis for my own version. I had two things I wanted to incorporate that I hadn't seen listed. First, I wanted to use an existing router that has a 3 3/4" diameter. I bought a 100 mm spindle mount and then printed a bushing from ABS. Then I wanted to use aluminum bar stock since I don't have a way to mill things and I wanted to skip the wood iteration. I came up with a design that uses 3/8 x 4 for the main plate and 3/8 x 1 for the spacers under the linear rails. Then I made up a new router plate using 1/2 x 5. I've incorporated the pivot pint and tramming for the spindle mount but haven't done the X and Y tramming that you show in this video, so I've got those to make. Otherwise it seems a lot like the existing design but I can use a larger router and also materials that are easier for me to get in the US. Almost done with the hardware and getting ready for the electrical work next. Thanks for the excellent design.

Awesome walk through. Thanks, you have answered most of my questions. I have the Cisco power supply modification video ready to upload, should have it uploaded Tuesday afternoon (US time). I live in a very rural area, and it would take 36+ hours to upload from my connection, so I have to use my daughter's internet in town, which takes less than 6 minutes :)

outstanding tour of the z axis... aerospace grade engineering, and also, in Metric :D

Some really good design changes there, It's a shame I can only like it once 👍

Hows the Plane/Parallelism tolerance with the RHS 4mm wall? can you simply mount the rails on those?

For our purposes across hundreds of successful builds the RHS steel has provided excellent tolerances when directly mounted. The PrintNC is not designed or intended to be a extreme precision machine and if extreme accuracy is required for your specific needs then a professional VMC is likely a better option (with a much higher price tag to match) However for hobby use many completed builds are routinely achieving repeatable results of 0.0X mm in Aluminium and Steel

@@threedesign8999 Yeah I like. If I can get a 400x400 plate flattened to within 50 microns and machined to within 30 microns Id say It can do 90%+ of what we can dream in 2.5D.
