You are welcome. Your tree can grow like mine next year if you fertilize it in Spring with slow release fertilizer and soluble fertilizer.

How much did you water it?

It depends on how dried the soil is. In summer I watered it 3 times a week but if it rains very well maybe once a week.

I planted a violette de Bordeaux in spring it has a few figs growing but don't think there ripping in time

Smith fig is good. Mine didn't fruit this year, hopefully next year it will produce figs.

It can in ground but can't grow year round because it is a decidious tree that must go dormant and come back in Spring.
