  • Introducing our ultimate overland rig! Today we're sharing a full tour of the inside and outside of this 1988 BJ75 Toyota Land Cruiser that we'll be driving around the world. This is third our third overland rig in the last five years and it just might be our favorite! Similar to both of our previous Sprinter van conversions, this truck camper has an indoor bathroom, kitchen, bed, and more! This little tiny truck packs a punch and we absolutely love its reliability and versatility. Have a question about the truck or a product in it? Let us know in the comments below!

    Hey y'all! We're Chris + Sara (or as you know us, Let’s Be Us), a husband and wife digital nomad travel duo currently working and traveling full time with our pup, Kramer. We've always dreamed of traveling full time, and in May of 2018 we took the leap and made it happen! Today we're balancing work and fun everywhere between the Pacific and Atlantic. From hiking and cycling to tacos and coffee, we're trying to see and experience as much of this world as we can! While our home is currently on wheels in our DIY Sprinter van, our travels take us all around the world.

    I wish I was 30 years younger. I would travel differently. I have been spoiled with resorts with king size beds and central air. Thanks!

    Damn those wheels are super nice! And the bumper look amazing. Also the permanently mounted Starlink is definitely something we wish we had. Great to see these additions, super nice. All ready to go for an amazing PanAm trip 👍🏻

    ALRIGHT!!! Very nice tour of your rig. Thanks for answering a question I had about your Starlink setup. I too am converting mine to 12 volts. Looks like there is more storage than meets the eye, and you've organized it very well. Until next time... Travel safe.... and we can't wait to see what is coming next.

    When I graduated from college, my dad sold me his 1985 Honda Accord hatchback. No A/C, no power steering, no power windows or power locks. He was an engineer. Bells and whistles were things that could break.

    We're in San Diego also! We live in our skoolie and are currently parked on a family members property in North county. We really want to travel to Mexico so it'll be cool to watch your travels! When I was a kid I traveled with my parents in our 1988 Toyota Odyssey (like the more common Dolphin) which is similar to yours but definitely not as cool! It was on the small Toyota truck chassis. We definitely agree with your purchase of this rig! Looking forward to more vids from you guys! Been watching since you sold the old van and started the last van during covid

      @@chrisandsara we definitely lucked out staying here, when we were on our way back from the east coast we kept calling around to places out here and nobody wanted to let us stay because its a skoolie 🤦‍♀️ Our family's property that we're parked on is several acres in a high end neighborhood with an HOA but there's only 6 homes in this community and everyone gets along so we definitely lucked out! Would love to cross paths one day! We keep saying we're going to start making and posting vids but never do 🤣 One day...

    Nice rig guys! I'm catching up on my video-watching. I really like the electric and water customizations for worldwide systems that you've done! I want to do the PanAm at some point myself and wouldn't have thought these dual systems were possible (well everything is possible when you sit down and think what you need...like you did!). Look forward to your adventures.

    Hi. Just found you! This is noir dream rig. Huge Toyota people and we keep wishing Toyota would build a 4x4 van but this is killer. What was the maker of the camper? Bymoble? We’d love to check out options for a conversion. Thanks! Great video.

    Cool rig. I've lusted after truck campers for decades (since I was in high school 30+ years ago), but these days the lack of secure bike storage keeps me out of one.
    I think I'd be looking at something like a Zerobreeze A/C unit to at least keep the sleeping area comfortable.

  • @2eatants

    Not having AC while driving is doable. However, not having AC in the living area is tough. I'm not sure if I could live without a way of cooling the living area. However, if you follow the weather and build up some tolerance to hot weather, you can make it work. On the other hand how difficult would it be to get AC in the unit? Just curious.

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  4 місяці тому

      It was more a spacing issue with this rig when it came to AC. We just didn't have enough space on the inside to fit the unit properly. We could have switched out the Max Fan for AC but then we wouldn't have a fan and we deemed that more necessary

    • @DuffyGabi
      @DuffyGabi 4 місяці тому

      Suffering, anxiety and the unknown is part of what makes an adventure so memorable and rewarding. But, yes, AC really is an awesome thing.

    Very cool rig. That said, too much you time and not enough of the rig, especially when you transitioned to interior. The camera would do a quick pan of the feature and then show you talking about the features for five times longer.

    You need to get rid of that cable winch line and get synthetic rope. Safer, lighter and just a no brainer. Don’t be a rookie American and skimp on important items.
