I can’t EVEN imagine what the relationship would have been like between Big Bopper & his son, Big Bopper, Jr., had he lived to raise him! To LOVE his dad THIS much, when he never had a chance to “personally” know him, to hold hands, or hug & kiss, or hear goodnight stories, or go fishing, or just sit & talk, or learn to drive his dad’s car, etc., etc. Just think what he’d be like now!! Amazing! He’s clearly his dad’s BIGGEST FAN!👍 What LOVE & DEVOTION!🥰❤️ R.I.P. to both of you!
For the record, his high school sweetheart was Mary Joe Surles. Her father was with the Beaumont Police Department, Robert E Surles & wanted her to have someone that had a more steady job, lol. My father, Troy L Davis, worked for Zales Jewelers. I did tell J.P. Jr. that I had always been told by my mother that J.P. Sr. was her first & true love. She always spoke lovingly about him. I had the privilege to talk with J.P. Jr. about his dad & my mom several years ago when he was in the process of making a movie about his dad. I am so glad I finally found some write up about him. This is so awesome to me. I'm still in Beaumont, Texas. Thank You.
The Big Bopper's son JP Richardson junior and Ritchie Valens's sisters Irma Norton(nee Valenzuela/Valens)and Connie Lemos(also nee Valenzuela/Valens). Carrying on with a legacy they left behind.
His poor son never got to meet his dad and it's so emotional that he love his dad so much and Ritchie 2 sisters are very proud to speak on Ritchie alone with the bopper son all 3 of them are so proud of there father and brother

Junior died in 2013 of heart failure. His mom & sister have both passed away as well, his mom in 2004 & his sister in 2010.
