I'm not sure why a discount, but for sure, some asian women will lower their standards when they date men from other races... especially white men. Standards include physical, age, financial, emotional.... 🤷‍♂️

Back in the day when I briefly dated this Chinese American woman, she said she would only considered dating Asian men that she thought were exceptionally good looking, but would be open to dating White men that were only average looking. As a Chinese American man, I was flattered that she thought I was exeptionally good looking, but at the same time I was disgusted at her double standard. I believe she ended up marrying a average looking white man.

In college, I had a landlady from Korea, who was married to a White American engineer. She stood 5' tall, spoke so-so English, was born Buddhist, but had converted to Christianity. Her half-White daughter was born in California, spoke Californian English, stood 5'6", and was raised as a Baptist. She looked kind of like Aileen Gu, but with dark hair. Unlike her mom, this daughter only dated Asian guys, even though her high school was about 40% White, at that time. All her friends were Asian or "ethnic". She never hung out with Whites.

I've definitely experienced the double standard within the Hispanic community too. i had class with this Mexican girl in college, and we did hangout outside of class but she was older than me. One day she told me that she is not interested in Hispanic men at all. So that was a first encounter where, I felt what was the point then as she brought it up in a derogatory way. Apart from the Asian men who come off as jerks I have encountered with (always flexing money, their muscles and workout pics on 99% on social media profiles). Most of the time the Asian men are cool down to earth dudes. Its sad that y'all get put down by Asian women. Ive gone on dates with Asian women form the apps, and its sad how they speak down upon their male counterparts too. If you live in any Anglo-Sphere country, or the EU, East Asian males aren't portrayed positively in the media. It is extremely difficult to find anyone.
A lot of my friends had to go back to their native countries and bring bride here. One of my friends went back to Thailand to bring back a woman. Another one of my friends went back to India to find a bride. My other friends had arranged marriages. A few others left the US, and they were able to get married.
My mom says, my theory of East Asian men having difficult time finding anyone is nonsense. She is woman, and she doesn't know anything about this issue. Asian guys were having this discussion back in the 1990s. For East Asian or Indian men, you should look elsewhere. Getting married to a woman, because you have money isn't a good idea, especially in the West, because of the divorce laws. They will take you to the cleaners.

@@Ace1000ks Honestly, I think the situation for Indian men will improve significantly in America as the years go on. The reason I say this is because I know many Indians from Trinidad and Guyana that live in New York and they have zero issues with dating with local women of any backgrounds. They look like average Indian men but just better dressed, built and overall confident with that Caribbean accent. The issue holding Indian men back in America is mostly external. If I ask groups what is wrong with Indian men. 95% of the reasons are external like their smell, hygiene, and overall dress sense. Mind you these are Indians directly from India. However I never see women saying they would not date an Indian because "I don't like their brown skin", many of them aren't even short either. The only thing wrong with them is that they are too foreign for America still. Also another huge downside is that white social media is portraying India as dirty, smelly and crowded. However if India was a developed nation or at least middle income like the Caribbean, then Indian men would not have any issues. They also aren't introverted from my experience. They have decent social skills as well.

I think that's the biggest problem with Asian men is it seems like they're never not under pressure from their parents to succeed, but people, especially kids, need to have a social life. What's the point of getting a good job but having no social skills when trying to find a girl when you probably never had a chance to date and go out to catch a movie or something? We knew this kid that was Vietnamese in high school and had super strict parents, but he would sneak out to hang out with us. Man, he loved just chilling and hanging out with friends. Even if it was just driving around, he just loved being around other kids.

    • @canto_v12
      @canto_v12 Місяць тому

Those parents are still obsessed with test scores because those were more important than exploratory activities like science camps in the pre-industrial societies that they came from (China in the bad old days). Getting into prestigious schools was literally a poor family’s ticket out of poverty.
Also, people who grew up poor in Asia will want to stay financially and socially supportive of their kids as that’s how it worked in the poor agrarian societies back then. This is the origin of the helicopter parent psyche.

    • @noelramirez1551

@canto_v12 Yeah, I guess when it comes to us Latinos, parents obviously care that we do well in school, but if we fail, it's on us. It's not going to be viewed as the parents' fault because by the time we're seniors, we should be around 17 or 18. We're grown by then. If we don't want to study and graduate, that's our choice, but we can still make good money without going to college. I went to UCF and got a bachelor's in biology, but I work for my dad's roofing company delivering materials and doing estimates for roofing jobs. My friend, who didn't go to college, does the same for his dad's concrete business. By 2 PM, I'm done for the day, and you can find a lot of good-paying jobs. The problem is nobody wants to work outside; everyone dreams of that 9-5 cubicle job that just stresses you out. I don't know, I just see us Latinos as those kids who were out partying and did their project a day before it was due while still getting B's and having a social life. I've had Mexican friends that would be out drinking and doing coke in the weekends but at school had all AP classes and were straight A students so it's possible to balance it and have a social life too.

When I was in high school, I would go get a haircut every week or a lineup, and I always made sure I smelled good. I'm not saying to wear designer clothes, but to dress better and not like a 40-year-old dad. I think most of the time, their parents are setting them up for failure. Sure, you might get a good job, but without social skills, it’s tough to get a girl who actually likes you without telling her how much you make. I dated a white girl who was a lawyer, and I worked for my dad's roofing company. She would come bring me food when I worked close to her, and she would be all dressed up she looked like Emma stone she hated when i would call her Emma 😂 and I would be all sweaty and dirty, but we were happy. Hey brother, one love to the Fung Bros from Vietnam, I'm a Caribbean Born Latin American, raised in Laguna Niguel Orange County California and I recently came across you guys channel about a couple months ago and I love your perspective anyway, I'll like to comment on your video which to me is bias & stereotype when it comes to Asia guy's and is also subjective when it comes to that study which was done basically 20yrs ago and even then is still subjective and is largely based on white western / American ideology and thinking when it comes to Asians, Asian men and Asian women.
So here's my experiences and perspectives as a person of colour aka non white who's a university grad from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in psychology / sociology, Ex military, worked in corporate America and financially secure, I'm also a buff dude with Chad like chisel features and 5-11, back then in teens I mostly dated white girls and Hispanic females, but was always told by my Asia friends I'm a Asian girl type, but fast forwarding many years later and after my divorce to my wife who's white I finally started to date Asia women and never had a problem, when it came to the having to prove myself financially, maybe because I dress nice and took care of myself physically an to be honest I think it's also because I have 30yrs plus of deep rooted affiliation and friendships within the Asian community as well as having a best friend who's Asian.
Now moving forward many years later beyond California and now living in Asia as a man of colour who has dated many Asians women of different financial status between California and Asia and was always been call a hotboy boy 😂 but never was held up to any standards when it came to white guys physically or financially etc, as to matter of fact, I have been asked many times by white men when I'm out and about in Việt Nam where and how did I meet my wife who's a tall and beautiful 5-9 Vietnamese woman, who was introduced to me by her work colleague whom I met a coffee shop in Đà Nẵng Việt Nam 5yrs ago to my wife now.
Also upon meeting my wife then there was no standards and pure sparks, just two people getting to know each other and now we're married, so like I said it's all subjective and too be honest Asian girls don't like nice guys as or Simps as the stereotypes will lead westerners to believe and from my experience most Asian guys are not Simps and choose women who are suitable for themselves and family.

But all in all different people go for different reasons, for me i lean for genuine commitment, communication and care; above money, fame, appearance, race, gender. Dated rich and poor, of diff races and heights... theyre all very different and changes all the time. People change, trends change, so i dont think statistics are reliable. (eg. kpop within the younger gens had boomed all races to date east asians with specific traits). But if we talking about the mass, im sure straight sub women in general would prefer men who are similar or above their own criteria for instinctual compatibility (eg. same or higher in height, same or higher income, same or larger shoe/hand size etc.).

My opinion: comment #1 Masculine, handsome, good-looking are based on Western standards. The "good-looking" Asian men tend to have more Western features, big eyes, eyelids, more pronounce nosebridge, narrow nose, tall, etc. If Asian guys have Western features, they are barely even with White guys. The Asian guys need to bring more to the table ie, money and status. Exception to this is rare where women, often very independent and confident, who like Asian culture, studied/worked in Asia, are more likely to appreciate the "Asian look." Comment #3 for white women to date/marry Asian men, they are taking a risk, conscious or subconscious. Society, friends and family will judge them. For the risk they take there must be a justifiable reward, ie money and status; otherwise, date/marry white men and no criticism. Comment #4 for Asian women in Western societies it is their ticket to validation and security. They can be whitewashed more than Asian men. Asian women change their surnames to be Smith, Johnson, Jones. On paper, Asian women can blend in as white, "Mrs Jones." Often times that's where the bias begins, on paper, an application, signature, id. Asian men do not have this loophole. Comment #5 Young Asian guys today have it much better than us who came of age in the 80s.

It's funny because I see the complete opposite in Asian countries. I've lived in Japan, Indonesia and I'm now in South Korea. Girls who are into Asian guys here will tolerate the shittiest behaviors from the local men because they happen to have a physical preference for Asian features, when they would never accept that attitude from men from their own countries. It was the same in Japan. I don't know about Indonesia, I was the only bule where I lived. I also see some Asian Americans who come to Korea to have better dating opportunities because that's where a lot of women who like Asian guys are. ^^
I'm curious to see the profiles of the women and men they interviewed for that study though.

I think money is part of it but there’s also social class, generational wealth, and clout. White guy might make 65k but she’ll might get treated better socially if she’s with a white family or group. Also, the white family might have money, investment, and asset set aside for him for the future unlike first gen families. At the end of the day, we’re all trying to better ourselves or situation. Each person should do and choose what’s best for them. Asian men, go out and claim yours and don’t get distracted by what other people are doing.

Why would you date somebody who you do not suppose to like? Asian boys should also be more independent, if you fall in love then marry that girl without asking your parents and other 10,000 relatives and neighbors.
