Often times grippy tires won’t smoke up a lot as much as per se an all season tire. Also they’re probably not hot lapping it, and lower tire pressures means more grip which means more speed but also means less wheel spin, in turn this will result in less smoke compared to if you had a ton of wheel spin and hot lapping. This tire wasn’t really aimed at putting a bunch of smoke up, it was more aimed for grassroots level performance, low to mid horsepower cars who wanna do good at the track and keep up with maybe some faster cars, but don’t wanna break the bank for tires that won’t last long. Basically, they’re great all around!
Excited to try these on my mustang. Around 300hp and around 3500 lbs. I use tire for my grip source. So will be interesting. I’ve tried 651’s and honestly wasn’t my favorite
there are a lot of brands who specialize in track tires and not that much for drifting tires so I'm guessing no, but I'm curious what these drift specific tires would do on the track
@@brandonleemeyer4329 The 200TW 651s grip about as well as typical 300-350TW tires on the race track. I'm told the 100TW 651 is about on par with mid pack 200TW tires, but not legal for the series I run. TS says these have less grip on the site while the driver says it has a bit more. The next tire I'm testing for endurance racing is the GT radial champiro sx2.
@@brandonleemeyer4329 not particularly when Hankook rs4 and kumho v730 exists. Drift tires ive seen target about normal tw350-400 levels of grip, maybe comp tires have the grip but their pricing means just buy a "super 200" track tire like rt660.
They look like they make no smoke, but if they really last a whole day and are priced lower than the Valino Matsuri 360TW tire then it's a win for me.
