Eric Clapton, one of the world’s pre-eminent blues/rock guitarists, once again summoned an all-star team of six-string heroes for his fifth Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2019. Held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, the two-day concert event raised funds for the Crossroads Centre in Antigua, the chemical dependency treatment and education facility that Clapton founded in 1998.

One of the best songs ever written.
I loved it from the first time I heard it. And this version gives me goosebumps. Makes me think of my mother. Mabel 🙏🏽❤🙏🏽
The man to the right of Eric is incredible.. Mr. Doyle Bramhall ll is a master….. Don’t believe bill be seeing Clapton in this lifetime.. Thank God we have the recordings 🫡
60 years. Amazing God Clapton. So ..he covered Boyd....so what. When he got her he didn't want her. It's a man's life. He's normal. Keep going Eric. God bless.
Doesn't get much better than this. Period.
Hendrix is the G.O.A.T for showmanship & guitar wizardry but Clapton is my favourite guitarist & the G.O.A.T for his impeccable flawless tone, playing & timing. I hope he performs until he is 100 years old.
I am astonished and admire Eric Clapton for entertaining the world for 55 to 60 years and still going at it at the age of 77 !!! You go Eric...🎸🎸🎸🎸🎼🎼🎼🎼
His playing still moves me. His voice takes me away. Even better with age in my opinion.
This is the best Blues Rock guitarist of all time .60 years out there . No gimmicks No dressing up like a chick no make up.never rude a real class act. Mr Eric Clapton put and kept integrity into the rock and roll world..
A Class Act by every meaning of the phrase. In a league all his own. I’m 61 and still jamming to all rock & roll, all southern rock and rock gods like Mr. E. Clapton of course. 😎🔥
I am also 61, and now I get to share and rock out to Mr. Clapton with my 18 year old son. He now knows what REAL music and talent is, no crotch grabbin no stupid shit with his hands and arms, just making beautiful music! Thank you sir for the gift to my and hopefully my sons generation!

@@samthesham459 A class act? - well, yes - if you forget about the drug abuse and documented drunken racism...
Yes true, but wasn't such a class act when he stole Harrison's wife.
just.........................wonderful that's all no worlds
There is one thing that I think hasn't been emphasized enough, and it is that Eric Clapton has maintained such a high level of performance for so many years. You close your eyes and it could be a concert from the 90s. Such a passionate and committed performer.
I do not know about such a passionate player, Hendrix put more passion into his playing of the guitar. I always enjoy watching him play his guitar with every part of his body. He and his guitar were one. However, it is hard to cast Clapton out because I do love his voice shd he is age 76. He is like Willie Nelson....great voice.
While I am a huge Clapton fan, I have noticed that his guitar solo work is starting to suffer. He doesn’t take chances anymore. I heard a interview with Ed Bradley, where Clapton states that he isn’t as good as he used to be. There are things he doesn’t even try to do on the guitar anymore. He blames aging. Check out the interview on UA-cam.
He was one of my first concerts in the ‘70’s.
@@davidbrown5152 he’s right, no one can play as good in your 70’s as when you were in your 20’s, unless your playing slow stuff like B. B. King.
You got that right!!!..
This is the genius of the incredible humane gentleman that is Eric Clapton! I still am trying to get him to become a Sir as I believe he deserves it more than most that are! Bless You Eric you might not understand the actual effect you have on us all! A fan of over 5 decades and till the day I die! You simply the 👑in my eyes👑
I have a few guitar heroes...all of us players do..mine are.... Jimi... Stevie.. Tommy Bolin....and a few others...but there is something very special about Eric...I guess part of it is that he survived and is still around... laugh's...but it's more than that...I know that alot of people point to Jimmy...but I feel that Clapton is just as important...I mean his playing is iconic and his riffs have been lifted by anyone who ever picked up the instrument....he truly is one of the greatest of all time....🎸🎸🎸
He is a true professional and dedicated to his work. He has paid for many headstones for Bluesmen who had passed and had unmarked graves .
Been listening to this band since the 70's, you only get better as we age. ❤️✌️
Eric still pulls the fans in and makes new ones. He is A+ singing and playing and is delightedly humble.
can we just take a minute and appreciate the awesomeness of musicians on stage!? DAMN, what a band
I agree 👍 with you , superb blend of talent here.
Who is the other lead guitarist..???
Answering my own question after some research - this amazing guitarist is Doyle Bramhall II. Such a great on stage partner for Eric !
@@Political.Commentary Doyle Bramhall II
awesomeness is not a word....try awe!
Thinkin' 'bout the times you drove in my car
Thinkin' that I might have drove you too far
And I'm thinkin' 'bout the love that you laid on my table
I told you not to wander 'round in the dark
I told you 'bout the swans, that they live in the park
Then I told you 'bout our kid, now he's married to Mabel
Yes, I told you that the light goes up and down
Don't you notice how the wheel goes 'round?
And you better pick yourself up from the ground
Before they bring the curtain down
Yes, before they bring the curtain down, ooh
Get up, get up, get up (ooh, ooh, ooh)
Yeah, yeah, yeah (ooh, ooh, ooh)
Yeah, yeah, yeah (ooh, ooh, ooh)
Talkin' 'bout a girl that looks quite like you
She didn't have the time to wait in the queue
She cried away her life since she fell out the cradle.
One of the best productions ever of this song! Doyle Bramhall II also is stunning on guitar 🎸 to be listened to over and over again. Awesomeness 💫
The last 4 minutes when he really kicks in are pure magic.
Doyle is special
Everyone forgets how good a singer he is... love this... :)
I absolutely love this version of the song. I think it is more bluesy than the original version and the solos of him are a way better here than in the original version that is available on Spotify
LOVE FOR EVER Eric !!
Without a doubt the most reliable and "in the pocket" major player. He's deserving of his lofty status. A tear for George!
Great rhythm backing him up.... like heroin to the ears👍👍
Very well stated !!! And yes , a tear for co writer George Harrison !!! And while we are at it , a beer for a drunk Ringo Starr who brought the line , " I told you bout the Swans that they live in the park " 🍻🍻🍻🍻
Fantastic how you can here George in this song, the bridge is his signature. As I read he came to help Eric to finish this song and he just gave this bridge melody and the song was ready
@@MrJakigabi what is the Beatles musical quote that Clapton plays at the very end ?
@@sianwarwick633this song was a cooperation between Clapton and Harrison, and the bridge of this song is written by George. For my ears, very similar harmonies to "Here comes the Sun", what was a real trademark of George at those times.
I love how the drummers look at each at the very end like "Man this shit is fun!!"
Clapton is God!!!!!!!!!! Long live E.C.🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
The greatest ever in my opinion! The guy worked with everyone! A guitar maestro, went through addiction hell! And kept being a better musician through the decades.
It's great to see Doyle totally having fun while doing the lead work. They truly enjoy music. These legends are beyond adorable!
What will we do when he is gone…his bands are so good, so clean and sharp, two drummers, Doyle & Nathan, Paul Carrack, Steinton, and Gadd…in so many ways, keeps getting better.
I don't know hate thinking about it
Clapton.....the gift that keeps giving.
I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard Badge. Actually, I was sitting in a car waiting for my boyfriend. I was transported into another space, it just gobsmacked me. One of my favorite songs to this day.💜💚❣
I remember when and where I was too. It was in my older sister's boyfriends car listening to a 4 track tape of Goodbye Cream. I had never heard the song before and I said that sounds like George Harrison playing. He said no, the guy playing guitar is Eric Clapton. First time I ever heard of him. It was probably a year or so later that I learned I was correct about George playing on Badge. One of my favorites still.
Voicemail 1 New 0 is the best
I heard it online . Still great for me, a great find
I know there is no "Best", but then again, there is the immortal "Badge".
The bridge at 1:34 is one of the greatest riffs in R&R history.
That riff has George Harrison all over it. When your hear the studio version it's especially evident. And the solo has Eric all over it. Those two were so great together.
And the bridge is the source to the name 'Badge'. Clapton read Harrisons notes upside down and misread.
That is certain.
It's good that he didn't mimic Harrison's bridge from the 60's. I remember when this song originally came out everyone knew it was Harrison playing, but there was no attribution at the time. Stellar song I first heard on an airplane flying from Chicago to Los Angeles as a teenager.
I'm 67 black man and to this day 1-17-23 still get chills every time I hear this song. Thank you George Harrison and Eric Clapton !
76 years old and still going strong, has had so many great bands, one of the best guitar players ever.
This combination is perfect for him at this point in time. They all seem to share the same vibe.
He just turned 72! Don't make him any older, please!
My apologies! Was thinking of someone else who just turned 72. Mr. Clapton is INDEED 76!
Preach it, brother. Clapton is still god!
In my opinion he’s the best guitarist ever.
I always liked Eric’s music but he has become a real hero to me over the last couple years standing up to this insanity.
Yeah, buddy!
Amen!
Mr. Clapton has got a spine.
@@timeno1763 Most have shown they don’t have one.
Oof 😬
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏽 Thank you for speaking out Mr Clapton 🙏🏽
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you Farther GOD For gifting us with Beautiful music pure pleasure❤❤❤❤❤
I’m pleased I can finally say footage of Eric and say I was there. If you’re like me, you definitely soaked in all of seeing the master on stage.
The smile between Sonny Emory and Steve Gadd , at the end of this Masterpiece , is FREAKING AWESOME 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Eric Clapton is known as a great musician which he is.
Apart from that if we closely follow his phrasing we realise he is a master at this and we can learn a lot from him.
Thank you Mr Clapton
One of the greatest riffs ever!
I'm glad he looks like he's still enjoying it,
We may get old but the spirit is still young and Eric is a great example of it.
When I compare the greats, to me, there is no denying that Claptan's guitar tonal quality has no equals. The weight and rich sound of his playing stands above all.
He is the best.
Mick Taylor deserves a mention.
@@oldgeezer5861 I agree, he was the guitarist for The Stones' best years!
Eric gets that rich tone from a Fender Twin turned up all the way blended with a Leslie cabinet. I don't know any other guitarist who ever thought to use a Leslie cabinet. The sound quality of a Fender Twin tube amp speaks for itself. And then there is Eric's playing that gets great tone.
@@oldgeezer5861 Mick Taylor sounded great on Get Your Ya-Yahs Out. He could play circles around Keith.
Two drummers two guitars that's rock and roll
Eric Clapton is a genius. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame 3 times and he's the only one that has. He's a great writer.
Agreed, one the finest "Genius" musicians. & Occasionally playing W/other "Genius" are incredible sounds .
3 months ago 76, still rocking in the big world, what's left of it.
Certainly, Clapton is aging but I find these days he is much better when he has another guitarist on stage with him. He will up his game!
Best lyrics George Harrison, best base Jack Bruce, best song Cream and best guitar and vocals Mr.Clapton.Way to go!
George also played rhythm guitar up til the bridge, really underrated playing there
Bass. Electric Bass.
Don’t forget that guy on drums ginger
Sgt pepper wrote these lyrics. George was never a cop or constable.
Ringo came up with some of it, while stumbling in drunk...
Clapton still got the voice ! That’s truly incredible .
Yes it is
Clapton the best.
I've been a Clapton fan since the mid 70's. Incredible singer and guitar player. So talented and a huge influence on so many others. Saw him in concert many years ago. Never will forget it.
I saw him at the td gardens this year
Nosebleed seats, but it was beyond awesome
Чел кайфует от того что делает..., я кайфую вместе с ним!!!!!!! Браво, Браво, Браво!!!!
*-LONG LIVE SLOW HAND*
*-ROCK N ROLL NEVER DIES*
*-STAY IN HOMME AND LISTENING ERIC CLAPTON.*
I like the way he's quite happy to let other players take a solo as well .
The king of blues
This tune is legendary.
One out of about a thousand faves by Clapton
It sure is
Still, and always will be, a guitar God.
Shout out to Nathan East, who seems to show up everywhere.
His almost at more clapton gigs than clapton
No bass player in this universe treats the bass like Mr Nathan East. He is the best bass player in a band hands down. His bass lines are out of this world. And he never gets old. Eric made a marvellous choice pairing this guy with Mr Steven Gadd
He's also toured extensively with Phil Collins, even co-wrote Easy Lover.
@@jimmysexson164 And Willie Weeks too 🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸
@@Craig-bz3dm , you got that right bro. Willie Weeks is in my circle as well. He is great !!!!
He still has it where many others have lost it. His voice is wonderful. It looks like he has no trouble whatsoever singing. What a voice and what a great guitar player. What else....well he looks damn good! I could listen to his great songs all day. Well actually I do listen to his songs quite a lot. He is the man!
The class of clapton is still evident and his vocal range. But regarding singing and his age etc i wud put roger daltrey ahead of him in all aspects. But thats nog dissing slowhand, the legend.
Well said My Dear 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Hi! I went to see Clapton at Madison Square Gardens in 2018?. Totally disappointed. I had seen him probably 7-8 times and loved his shows. However, this one show was a bust. He started off the evening playing with his guitar volume off so they extended the intro. What I love about Clapton is the fire he brings to his guitar playing. No fire that night. He was just running through the songs. His guitar solo work, which is his trademark, was very brief and weak. It felt a bit forced.I left halfway through the show. I guess he had an off night. I found out later that he was suffering from a severe case of bronchitis! I can allow him that, I suppose.
Clapton' is still going strong, great Musicians and that's Nathan East playing Bass, what a surprise to see......
@@colingeddes2172 Ha. Daltrey is a bucket of mush compared to the great clapton.
Steve Gadd.... the glue that holds it together! Rock solid
Eric Clapton is perfect, very very great guitar player. Fantástico. The best.

Brilliant vocal, well it is HIM!
Eric & Doyle!! It doesn't get any better than this
4:45 brahamell what lovely joy that’s mr Clapton gave it to you legend meet master legend
A fantastic song, partly written by Mr Harrison. Beautifully sung and played by Eric n the guys. And, that is one handsome Strat !
I think that this is the best version yet.
Yes!!! At least that I heard 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I admire this man so much what an absolutely great guitarist and brilliant singer.
Always showcasing the other. That's Mr.Clapton. Ageless!
I love this song so much, since the first moment I heard it as a twelve years old until today, and couple of decades have passed since then... What a masterpiece by Clapton and Harrison 🎸🙏
.
Love is my badge 💙
Love this tune. A kid in grade school when I first heard this. Cream & The Beatles motivated me to study guitar. This version is awesome, two tasteful guitar solos….the whole tune just
feels good.
77 now and he can still do this. The music keeps these guys going.... Rock on Eric!
Just look at that latest Crash guitar......Beautiful!!
Steve Gadd on drums ! The best ever !
Yes, yes.....yes !!!

We are so blessed.
One of my hero’s for sure! Eric Clapton is just amazing
wonderful, we need to get back to live shows asap....be healthy, take carew1 we will survive!
I finally plonked my life’s savings into 7th row seats to watch EC at Chase center in San Francisco, Sep 2019. People told me I was an idiot wasting Monty. It was worth every penny. COVID hit a few months later and then everyone told me Dude you have a vision. Now we never know when EC will come back ever to SF 😊.
One of the OG's!! For sure! 🎉
Another unforgettable performance by the true legend 💚💚💚
Slowhand just Kills it. Best Version - Ever.
Guess that’s why he’s Eric Clapton. So great. What a hot band of great musicians.
Thank for you.
The great Clapton. A great guitarist and a good soul
Those notes will be hanging in the air long after this song is over. Perfection!
I growed with this music and I ‘m fine, i growed my son with this music and he is fine.
One of my favorite song while I was in high school,,, thinking about the love I left ... Eric master of sounds, flashbacks. thanks
Clapton always brings his A game performing BADGE
Love how he brings all the musicians front/center and the music elevates. Awesome collaboration.
EC! Found you in the 60's with CREAM. Thank you, man, thank you.
It must be insane to have two sets of drummers keeping up and driving in total synchronous beat. Amazing musicianship.
Everyone who gets to be on stage with Eric Clapton is one of the best on their instrument. They can do it easily ;-)
This one was definitely the sleeper on the dvd for me. Brilliant and beautiful performance by all!
I love you Eric... agradezco ser contemporánea en este recorrido ❤
One of my all time favorites but this acoustic version blows me out of the water - straight to the top of the list. Gotta love that bridge - lights only going up here.
That was a song ahead of its time for sure...
R.I.P. George, Jack & Ginger.

I don't 👀 see age. It's within. But appearance and staying you is life.
Thank you EC, just need to say.. Hyde Park 2018 actually saved my life. Sounds crazy, but it kind of rebooted me. Be proud, because I'm just one lad out of billions of people who you've made a difference to! You really did change the world! X
@Chris Poole It's great that our favourite music can have such a profound positive effect on our mental health.
I love it!
Qué obra de arte pictórica su coloreada Fender Stratocaster!! De museo. Eric siempre será mi mayor ídolo musical. Un idilio melódico iniciado en 1985. CLAPTON IS GOD!!!!!!!
Immediately flyes you to the 60's🎉💯👍🎶
That 90 degrees change in that song 1:33 is so overwhelming to me!!!
Great concert. I took my daughters to Dallas to see some of the best guitar players in the world and it was worth it!
Eric best guitarist !!!!
Eric Clapton made and "concreted" his place in the world music history forever!
Best songs that mean a lot to my heart ❤️ Eric is the best! No other guitar player is better. And that says a lot with so many greats still playing. Thx Eric!
Besides his guitar excellence and vocal goodness, he is helping so many addicts at the Crossroads treatment centre. He is encouraging the continuation of good guitar rock. I love it.
