- Richard D. Wolff is Professor of Economics Emeritus, University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he taught economics from 1973 to 2008. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in International Affairs of the New School University, New York City.
Earlier he taught economics at Yale University (1967-1969) and at the City College of the City University of New York (1969-1973). As an orthodox jew, I condemn the terrorist acts and war crimes of Israel. I support the creation of a free and independent Palestinian state. This will end all the violence. As Jews we need to accept that Israel is the occupying force and we need to do the right thing and give Palestinians their own independent state free from Israeli interferences. My dear cousin you are the Orthodox Jew I know and remember as a Cape Town born Muslim some 80plus years ago. The honesty and integrity of Richard Wolff has always brought peace and pleasure to my heart.

In my view he espoused their cause because he lives within the left subculture and was about to loose his guru status. I have seen since october how he evolved from focusing on his subject matter to espousing and theorise in favor of islamic position. I'm so glad to hear, Dr. Wolfe finally using his voice to denounce Zionist hypocrisy.
I'm a 78 year old white Australian woman. The British here mostly confiscated the land from the beautiful (beauty in body and spirit) indigenous population. They didn't use them as labour. They at first killed a lot of them and didn't want to acknowledge their existence. Foolishly they didn't ask them how they lived on the lands here, what plants they knew were medicine and how they managed the sometimes raging bush fires. Later the colonizers took the children from their parents put them in orphanages and schooled them as whites. They did this to make them blend into the white population eventually hoping the indigenous population would not exist. I was born in August 1945, there was one area I remember seeing the Aborigines throwing their boomerangs and selling their pottery and other artifacts that was at La Perouse Sydney. They were all but unseen. It's taken them decades to be seen and it's beautiful. They weren't allowed to vote up to a few decades ago. They are regaining their heritage at last and the country we call Australia is better and richer for them.

The situation in Ukraine (Russia's special military operation) is completely different from the situation in Gaza (Israel's massacre, genocide).
yes, this guy is not understanding the nuance. Russia was the original settler colonial power in that situation. The situation between Ukraine and Russia is more similar the situation of using Israeli hostages to excuse attacking Palestinian civilians, rather than the other way around. US complicates the matter, but it's still unfair to compare Ukraine to Israel.
Growing up in eastern Europe, it was so normal to live under the constant fear of invasion from Russia. Of course that's not as bad as actually living under occupation, but there certainly was pressure to show a pro-Russian attitude, "be flexible" and give away land in order to not get invaded again. Asking Ukraine to make peace and go under that oppression is not comparable to asking Palestine to go "peacefully" back under occupation because the scale of oppression in Palestine is so much greater, but it's still not justified to call that "peace". It's not in the power of the oppressed to make peace, if "peace" means a lack of oppression rather than a lack of visible conflict.
If Russia was really concerned about the well-being of Russians in Ukraine rather than using them as an excuse, they could have helped them. There were millions of ways of doing that, and war was not one. I'm more inclined to believe that Russia was trying to exasperate the oppression of Russians in Ukraine in order to reach this goal.
