This video will introduce and utilize the following tools in InDesign: -Pen tool -Delete anchor point tool -Add anchor point tool -Convert point tool -Direct Selection tool
Genious. Thank you for the step by step with the pen-tool. Especially how it works when drawing a wave. I've tried and tried. No one has explained it like you. I am a new beginner and this video is an absolute MUST. Thank you.
is there any way to make indesign pen tool work like illustrator pen tool ? When I use illustrator pen tool there is a handle or guide which makes things easier.
If you use the direct selection tool (white arrow) to select the anchor, handles will appear that you can manipulate using the white arrow. It’s the same function as illustrator, just less dramatic.
Hi Leoika, Once you've made a shape with the pen tool and closed the path, you can select and move it with the black arrow (selection tool). Is that what you mean?
@@thedesignmentor thnx for respond. İ mean how can I make selection from pen path like in photoshop after u finish path u can press selection which makes line with many ants🤣
@@johnmilovic8693 Oh, unfortunately, InDesign does not work like that, as it is just a placeholder for images in a larger multi-page setting and not meant to edit images directly in the software. You should do direct selection in Photoshop to whatever image you're trying to edit and then place it into InDesign. Fortunately, Adobe's software programs work together nicely so if you embed the image and update it in Photoshop, it will automatically update in InDesign.

Thank you.
The pen tool is a beast of a tool. I tried to explain it the way it makes sense to me. Glad it helped!
Even a year-and-a-half later, this video is still helping...at least me! Thank you!
Thank you! I wish I had more time to make more videos.
@@thedesignmentor Understood! 🙂
Thank you, this was exactly what I needed to know!

Alternatively, you can edit the shape using the white arrow to individually select points and move them around.
