Semper fi, watching this reopens experiences. ive been out for 2 years now, and ive never asked myself how did our family members view us back then. I remember the majority of my family cried but with a young mindset it goes over your head. How fast time flies... If you're reading this and you are also a family member of a marine. Thank you for molding us to who we needed to be. Your presence was greatly valued more than you know. Unfortunately the job is never done, and it wont ever be. Continue to check up on your marines mental health. Bootcamp was the easiest days of our lives....
Gate 5(Washington st.) opens for visitors on family day at 6:30am. You can also Google MCRD San Diego graduation and it will have a schedule available.
It was actually just like this for my army basic training not too long ago. A normal cycle would’ve had 4 full platoons but my company was only the size of one platoon so we were divided into 4 squads
Platoons are generally smaller when the start date is in the winter months. This is because they get all the high schoolers that just graduated during the summer, and ship out in the summer months.
@@soccerr7055 recruiting amongst all branches, especially marines and army, is at an all time low though. It’s the reason my army basic training cycle was so small
Semper Fidelis and Happy Birthday to the whole family. A day no Marine forgets. Waiting for the Senior DI to dismiss you. Still brings chills to me.

Went off without a hitch! Thanks!
Small platoons?? I've guess it's hard to meet quotas now days? I've never seen only 3 squads before, 🤔
