Let me be perfectly honest a big reason I joined was the 20-year retirement plan, free health care, money for college, 30 days' vacation, among other benefits, and back in those days' girls loved guys in uniform. I've been drawing retirement since 1999. I also got paid to go to places most people will never get to see. Enjoy the freedoms/lifestyle provided to you by others you earned them.

Gives me goosebumps as I remember listening to the call in person and watching the beautiful Marines pass by, knowing darn well they could kill you in a blink of an eye if needed.
You may know it as adjutants call but it is also Le Boudin the regimental march of the French Foreign Legion. (many American calls are French in origin, as immediately after the war of independence you employed a French bandmaster.......the rest as they say is history)
He did a pretty good job. 👍🏽 His sword manual was sharp and he didn't move his head. From a distance, the young officer looked squad away in uniform. He should have used the next size down sword so that it is at the more appropriate level near his earlobe. Nice "command voice" for an officer. 👏🏽 😎 Respect 🙏🏽 🫡 😎

The USMC: 220+ years of traditional untrammeled by progress. As former Army infantry, I fucking love Marines. You do my job first, and then your MOS second. If I was in the shit, I'd trust a handful of Marine cooks over a battalion of Army supply clerks in a firefight. I work near MCAS Miramar and hear the 'sound of freedom' being flown by the Marines several times a day.
Gotta respect how the Marines keep tradition, as the other services are taken over by woke officers and senior NCO’s. I’m an old Army soldier and what’s happening breaks my heart.

We are the country that put the tradition into tradition.. for everyone else, they are habits hoping to become tradition its impressive, just that we do it better than everyone..Trooping the Colour, Beating Retreat, Sunset, Royal Funerals and Coronations, the odd Royal Wedding, this does include rhe traditions of the Senior Service, The Roysl Navy, the various regiments of the Army, will not include the Roysl Air Force who are just over 100 years old..
