You know truth be told, as much as I like each individual Doctor having his own theme, this theme here, to me, is THE theme of The Doctor. Not 11, not 10 or 12, but the Doctor himself, through the all his lives. And while Murray Gold is an incredible composer and he can create masterpieces and will no doubt go on to top this song, I think that in my heart I will always love this song. I will never forget when the Doctor's Theme was this song.
How? To me it's larger than 11, it has the feeling of action but also of peace, of determination and of excitement. Each Doctor has their individual themes yes, but I just feel like this would fit for the Doctor in general, in all his lives.

Tbh your right I did a rewatched 9th 10th 11th and 12th. And I've only watched Smith's season once but it does get better on a second rewatching. I stopped at 13th after the Rosa park episode I just couldn't push myself to watch anymore though I did love power of the doctor
It’s been over 10 years since we last heard this song but it’s still the first song that pops into my head when I think about Doctor Who, even before the main theme. I can’t remember the theme songs for any of the other doctors but this one is still crystal clear.
I love the Cello intro to the song like they had on "Demons Run" - I think the Cellos really add tension to that part , which is the whole point of the intro (of the song)
Remember hearing this the first time in the eleventh hour I loved the theme and it only took me an episode or 2 to get use to Matt he became my favourite Doctor straight away

Compare when 10 and 11 recalled their past companions. 10 says something to the vein of "Some left me. Some, I left. In the end they just leave." whereas 11 says "Some leave. Some move on. Others... Not many, but... others die."
He was carrying the dead weight of all his past decisions, so, of course a darkness has seeped in. But despite that I feel that he shines the brightest. ♡♥ My Doctor. ♡♥

Finally got all the pieces to my Doctor cosplay, which I admit I wear everywhere now. Every time I get dressed in it, I listen to this song on full blast. I leave my room at 3:08, smile at anyone in the living room and say, "Who called for a Doctor?"

It’s been over 10 years since we last heard this song but it’s still the first song that pops into my head when I think about Doctor Who, even before the main theme. I can’t remember the theme songs for any of the other doctors but this one is still crystal clear.

I love the Cello intro to the song like they had on "Demons Run" - I think the Cellos really add tension to that part , which is the whole point of the intro (of the song)
Remember hearing this the first time in the eleventh hour I loved the theme and it only took me an episode or 2 to get use to Matt he became my favourite Doctor straight away

The best part about 11 was that even under that weird, enigmatic, bubbly persona, he was actually quite a darker Doctor. Compare when 10 and 11 recalled their past companions. 10 says something to the vein of "Some left me. Some, I left. In the end they just leave." whereas 11 says "Some leave. Some move on. Others... Not many, but... others die."
He was carrying the dead weight of all his past decisions, so, of course a darkness has seeped in. But despite that I feel that he shines the brightest. ♡♥ My Doctor. ♡♥

I don't think the numbers were supposed to match up to specific Doctors is all. I mean, the Time War wasn't going on during the 1-4 Doctors, and it's not like he wanted to "declare" one in the first place. He also doesn't manage to save everyone, so it's not entirely accurate anyway.

This theme was actually first made in the Doctor Who 1996 TV-movie with Paul Mcgann. It wasn't the main theme though. Just in a few scenes you could hear it in the background.

Ajax Vala Yeah but it was like Tennent got it from (rating) 6 to 10, then Smith got it to like 16. Capoldi will have a very hard time living up to it. I feel sorry for him because for him, if he make the slightest mistake people will drop on him like a ton of bricks and will be less liked than Piper when she played Rose.
