Hi Ed, really enjoyed this. Great variety too, everything so old. The coin weight was in such great condition, what a great field it just keeps giving😊 I think you have many more fun days to come❤️
I love how you can walk over a field 20 times and still find lovely history My 14 yr old got his first ampulla yesterday and we’ve done the same part of the field dozens of times 😊
It is amazing isn't it, even walking from a different direction can reveal so much more, as they say a field is never done. Well done on the ampulla 😁👍
I've never seen a coin weight before, so that's very cool. Thanks for explaining what it was and how it was used. Thanks for sharing these great finds!
I always have a look at the shotgun shells, sometimes they are made by a local iron monger which is cool! I do have a fair few take away tubs full of stuff but of course the best stuff is in the spare room....which happens to be the biggest room 😂😂😂
Thanks, so when they are like that and the smooth patina has been damaged by chemicals and feels a bit rough I give them a gentle rub with some very soft wire wool and it reveals the details underneath, don't over do it though or do that to anything valuable 😁👍
Great video again mate! Very interesting field that and such a range of historic finds too! Love the angel coin weight....fingers crossed for the coin to match soon too!
I'm glad you didn't get shot, Ed. 😬 I appreciate your advice. And I'm impressed by how much you know about the things you find. Like recognizing that Italian coin and knowing right away what the angel weight was. 153 holes?!? That's nuts. You definitely are persistent. It's no wonder you find such good stuff.
What a HAUL! Playing Major catch-up today. Loved the clog clip (?), but the soldado (?) giggle was the best. Advice bits were great and helpful, too... Clever clog clip 😁😅🥴
A day with this much variety must feel so satisfying. It's also a bonus that you understand about chilling out during the detecting, rather than being caught up in the next big find. I always like the thimbles. 😁 I was surprised to hear you say that rolled up piece of lead might be a Roman curse. 😲 Did you manage to unroll it? 😈😂 See you next time, Ed. 😊😘🤗💛👍👍
Thanks for another interesting video. Never seen a clog clasp before and I loved the decoration on it. The coin weight was gorgeous! Your videos are always a highlight of my week
Hey Gill, thanks so much for the super thanks, I totally forgot that was a thing 😂 I will use it to get another mic as my last one died in the rain 😂 see you next time 😊
Great finds as always Ed, I seem to have trouble getting your videos from UA-cam so I will investigate since I just like watching your videos after years now keep it coming buddy
Thanks, it seems there is a bit of everything on this field, yes it is a bit more mild now, around 12 degrees but forecast to get colder again next week but has the feel of spring in the air 😊👍
Great video and great finds. Many years ago, I found here in Finland the counterweight of the Golden Angel. The author is Hans Focq 1589 Antwerpen. It has a picture of a hand on the other side.
Hi Ed! Hope you’re well mate? I’m miles behind on my vids but am currently watching in my car waiting for my daughter at Gatwick airport! Wow mate, yet another bumper set of finds….silver soldino surface find?!?!….you can go off people you know 😂😂wonderful stuff my friend. Have a great week pal!
Hey how's things? Ah this field is the best one I have been on in ages, so much variety, it seems like they had a bit more cash here in Essex than they did over by Wales 😂😂
@@VintageParagonUk I liked your bit in the middle with your guidance about permission. I’ve been on my one & only perm in Essex for 2 years now, and do find some amazing stuff, but think I need to start looking for new land. Really enjoy your videos Ed, so engaging mate! All the best, Marcus
@@Notchedto11 cheers Marcus, I mean you seem to have a good spot there so no worries, my first one was pretty terrible and spent far too long there not finding much and with green waste too. Essex seems to have a lot of nice things to find 😂 I asked the owner here if I can bring a friend but he wasn't keen so didn't push it but hopefully I will find a decent place that I can do some collaborations on this year 👍
Hey Ed, great finds again!
Thanks Angie 😁
Wow… Fantastic… Thank You… incredible ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks 😊
Really nice coins! The button may be a bane to you but you know it's a boon to us! lol Thanks for the nice dig. Suzy

Love seeing all your finds together at the end. It always looks like a great collection 👍🏻
Thanks, that is nice to hear, I am not sure how many people stay and watch the end bit but makes it worth it 😊
I really like your review at the end too 😊
Awesome that weight mate!! Great find bud
Cheers mate, hoping there is the coin about somewhere too 😂👍
I've never seen a coin weight before, so that's very cool. Thanks for explaining what it was and how it was used. Thanks for sharing these great finds!
Thanks Mary, it really has a bit of everything in this field 🙂
I’ve found it useful to weigh a toasted coin to have an idea what it might have been 😊
A huge variety of finds. Loved the shotgun shells and the coin weight in particular. You'll need a spare room for your collection soon. 😂

All the finds were amazing. You had to work hard for it but what rewards. 🥰
Thanks, I am sure there is a lot more there too 😁👍
Well done Ed, great finds , I've found neither a soldino or coin weight but the weight tips the scales for me as best find lol
Ahaaaa nice one, deffo my favourite too 😂👍
Wonderful!
Thanks 🙂
Mega great finds, well done!
Thanks mate, I have been so lucky 😁
I enjoy watching your videos and have a question for you. Please tell me how you cleaned the verdigris off the trade token. Thanks

Thank you. Love the coin weight, amazing.
Thanks, it is a really cool one 😁👍

Cheers Chris, glad to enjoyed it 😊
Great video again mate! Very interesting field that and such a range of historic finds too! Love the angel coin weight....fingers crossed for the coin to match soon too!
Thanks John, it seems to have a bit of everything, bit of Saxon or Viking would be nice 😂 I would settle for an angel though 😁👍
I'm glad you didn't get shot, Ed. 😬

Thanks, I think I have watched too many other UA-cam videos so picked up a thing or two about what we find 😂 I am glad I didn't get shot too 😬😂

Great field Ed, you've got a really excellent site there. Looking forward to seeing what turns up next, must have been an area of trading ? 👍
Thanks mark, it is a great place so far, I am not sure about trading but it does have an old road along the side so maybe something to do with that? 👍
