- I tried to do some bottle digging on the hottest day! I had some success but had to find some shade in the bushes and I am so glad that I did as it seems to be where the old stuff was!

Great to see you back out in the ash. Clearly you are now a long way from Wales Ed! Get back out there and try digging deeper. You might be digging through old spoil. Looks a very promising spot though 👍👍😉
Hey Chris, yes, almost completely the other side of the country 😂 I don't think it goes any deeper, I have a theory though, there is a gate to the field right next to it and I think they dug out a track to the field and piled it up there and that's why old stuff is right on the top. I am going back today for another look so hopefully be a few more nice bits there 👍

Fun times Ed!! I started digging bottles in the old Ghost Towns of Colorado in the 80s. Loved every minute of it!! Congrats on the goodies!! 👍👍👍👍👍

It's great to see you digging again! I'd love it if you showed detecting and digging videos, as long as you enjoy doing both. That last bottle was great! Too bad it was the sickest of all. That said, I don't really mind sick bottles too much either though - especially if they are iridescent.

Some sick bottles respond really well to a rinse and a wipe over the outside with baby oil - others don't. However baby oil is cheap so it's always worth a try, especially if it's a favourite item.

Cheers mate, it is a lot of fun but hard work. I only have 1 shelf in the house with bottles, the rest have been banished to the man shed 😂😂 the do take up a lot more space than a few crusty coppers 😂

Here in the states they cut down the old embossed bottles for drinking glasses or shot glasses or double shot glasses. They should list it as unusual but highly usable shot glass etc. lol lol❤
I also do that with any broken ones that I can use, I still have some in my shop 🙂👍
