I’m confused. In another Grimmspeed video, Art reviews the regular and stubby knobs and weighs them on the scale in which they both weigh over 1lb. (for the stainless) And yet Owen says in this video that the tall boy is made of aluminum because if it was stainless, it would weigh over a pound and damage the shift bushings and linkage.
Yes, because the tall boy is much bigger it’s not stainless because it would be way to heavy. Heavier then the other shift knobs that are a more normal size.
...if the sts fits a stock knob (m12x1.25), then it will fit the GS knob(s) and most any other knob designed for a subaru 6-speed (yes, there are some outlier knobs that may not work). the 5-speed seems to be a tad different as far as the lever/lockout goes
Anyone have issues with the aluminum tallboy chattering? I installed it and threaded it down and at higher rpms, my entire shifter assembly begins to rattle. Never did this with the factory delrin knob
just got a Bworks short shifter and it is low, super short and very notchy with effort, really. My short mishimoto shiftknob l was not feeling it.. l love the soft material on the tallboy. i jst ordered the red and black hehehehe
@@GrimmSpeed I haven't heard of transmission damage from a 1lb. shift knob. Your shift hane alone resting on any knob would easily add a couple of additional lbs. I like what you guys are doing, but the lighter they are, the less snick-snick there is, and the more shakey vibration. That's been my experience, anyway.
...they also own Rally Sport Direct (so, is that 3 companies owned by the same entity???) 🤔 I've seen lots of personnel turnover from these three businesses, so that might say something. Shoot, even Foster is now w/IAG and he helped fill the void t Subispeed w/Thomas and Kevin. something is afoot....
Shouldn't have fired Art.
so why was that guy fired
Mostly let go to cut cost. Sales dropped. Well to what are said!
Using you as the dislike button for firing art
Art himself said not to do this. If you actually care about him you'll delete this.
@@chandlerbraaten847 What did he say not to do?
will these fit mustangs as well like your other shift knobs

Seriously, some clarification is needed here.

Does this shifter fit with any of the short throw shifters?

Hello quick question. How does it feel to reverse in the subaru? Is it an awkward movement/ feel when reversing?? Thanks in advance
Can you guys do a stubby shift knob in Aluminum too? I like the feel of metal but i dont want a super heavyweight shift knob.
At the moment, we don't plan to offer the stubby in aluminum.
@@GrimmSpeed no worries.... How about Regular Grimmspeed shift knob in aluminium? (Am I the only one that wants this?)
Is there any intention to make these for 22+ brz/86s?

Why not make it in WRB ?
That's an idea 💡
Need to make it in blue 💙

will the slender stainless steel one damage my shifter linkage and bushings?
No sir, The slender Tallboy shift knob is actually made from Aluminum and weights around 284g.

Ive had a 1.2lb shift knob since I got my WRX new. I’m at 90k and still have zero issues. wtf are you talking about?
I've got the tallboy on my 2023 WRX. It's awesome.
how has it been holding up? I'm considering one thx!
Aye, TALL BOYS in the building! 💯
But where’s the 22 wrx content :( 😭
Coming soon! 😄😄
Wellp, not buying another Grimmspeed or Subispeed product. Both are owned by the same people, they fired Art and Kevin now. Screw these companies
