He’s the legit funniest host in late night history, in my opinion. Jimmy Fallon is an unfunny clown. I hope Conan knows he has fans who still love and miss him on TV.

@@fml5910 Ferguson didn't want it. He'd already been doing late night for a decade and was burned out on it. Plus putting him into any earlier time slot he'd have to tone it down, no cursing, no robot sidekick, actually doing interviews where they talk about the movies instead of just chilling, etc. and would have been miserable.

I never had the impression that Conan wears even the tiniest smidge of a grudge on his sleeve, it was and is always some of his colleagues and most of his fans. He is a man of principles, not grudges. And a funny motherfucker!
What an intelligent and humble explanation he just gave. I don't follow show business at all, but I understand where he's coming from based on that explanation.
I mean forget about the late shows and The Tonight Show and just look at Conan's "remotes". That on its own deserves multiple awards. For example when he went to Palestine, which is apropos. Or in Italy with Jordan 😁🤣😂🤣😂

It's kind of surreal that NBC had done something similar to David Letterman in the early '90s and it was also on behalf of Jay Leno.
Conan is truly a great person. He proved it when he paid his staff out of his own pocket. Not to mention his documentary is probably one of my favorites lol

It was Leno's decision when to leave the tonight show. He has surely earned it. Can you imagine Leno rushing Carson out the door?

Leno didn’t own the show thus he really didn’t have a say in when he should’ve left. Carson and Letterman owned their shows, they decided when they were done.
You inherit the Tonight Show, he would've been constrained, he had much more creative freedom on TBS

Also, if you haven't, his podcast is a fine-tuned engine of audible joy.
In this world its almost always the case that the less talented are more famous, hence why Fallon has the tonight show now and not Conan. The best late night host doesnt have a show anymore, theres your indicative of why hes the most naturally talented and funny.

Regardless Conan was the host of the Tonight Show even for a short period of time but that is an extremely rare title to hold and one he gets to hold for life
In my opinion, Conan is still better than a couple or three current late-night show hosts.
Conan could've had a show with an earlier start time, been paid way more than *NBC* was offering him, and he would've gotten it years earlier than "The Tonight Show." Plus this: Jay and his staff could've kept doing what they were so successful with at *NBC.* Conan saying yes to the network's weird 5 year plan is what set that entire debacle in motion and it was a tragic mistake for all concerned.
