Thanks for the video. I have a chiltons repair manual but its for explorer/mountaineer. (I couldn't find a manual just for sportracs) The fuel filter location is on different sides of the vehicle and was making the job impossible until I found your video with the correct location. The manual and videos said the filter was on the passenger side. Which it is on the explorer but not on the explorer sportrac. Thanks again.
The owner of this explorer has the fuel filter changed every 2 years, as a preventative maintenance plan. Which is acceptable when using after-market filters. As for your 99 stalling, if the filter hasn't been changed for several years it would be a good place to start. If a fuel pressure gauge is available, it will go along way to help determine if filter or possible pump failure is the problem.
You most likely already solved this issue. But for future readers, I would start by cleaning all of the sensors, such as the maf, iac, and crankshaft sensors. A lot of people never clean them and they get clogged up and stop working.

im sorry, did you run it after pulling fuse? You need to run it dry and release pressure. The connectors pop off much easier then.
I wish info was better explain with part # bc theres 2 filters 1 under passenger side 1under driver side different filters depending on model year

My dad 2004 ford sports trac dose that it works fine then it wants to die out then dies then we turn it onnit doseit again or not it turns on
That's NOT a 2002 sport trac filter they have 3 hoses tuning into the filter not 2. Incorrect video.

2002 sport tracs had 2 separate productions. Halfway through the year they changed it. Stop being cynical and always wanting to prove someone wrong.
