I literally say at 14:10 that people need to sit down and have a conversation to understand each other. I clearly see who watched the whole video instead of nagging about someone’s perspective. UA-cam definitely has a different breed of people 😂 Thanks for all my real ones who might’ve understood what I meant even though I literally said in the video that Joyner Lucas is playing the perspective of a white guy in middle of America who never really had a real interaction with someone who is black and is going off black stereotypes. I didn’t say neither was right or wrong about anything so stop putting words in my mouth and making assumptions I never said. I said some of my best friends are white and they’ve lived in the hood with me and they had to face their own adversities also for “being white”. Just watch the video DAMN! Peace y’all 🙏🏽

I really liked this video. And your reaction was top notch. My wife is black and she was getting offended till I explained what the message was. I mean it's a hard pill to swallow but people need to know how the world really is amd how we can resolve this problem. I mean my son is mixed amd I'm scared of how this world is going to treat him. I'm white ya know it just sickens me really. My wife's grandpa is a preacher anf they are having this event Sunday to discuss racism I think I'm going to show the video. Awesome reaction as always.

you really missed the point of the white guy's rap, we know some of what he was he saying were stereotypes BUT some of that shit was true, we need to get our shit together and start respecting each other and ourselves before we expect someone else to. We can't expect people to respect us and think of us highly if we don't think that way about ourselves and if we continue to act ignorant. I liked your reaction, but don't be so close minded.

I’m black and I think the point of this video was for us all to try to understand both perspectives not just for white people to hear out ours.
The black guy and the white guy used stereotypes and we can’t say “it crazy people think like this” for one side and love the other because both side have some really good points if we hear them out.

I want you to do a reaction and hit all the key points on your first listen and send me the link when you’re done.

I think he means how you was all "It's crazy people think like this" about the whit guy but in agreement with everything the black guy said during your initial reaction. They both used negative stereotypes but also both peppered in some true ass shit. The part about us black people respecting, loving, and taking care of each other was on point.
But like I said you can't fault someone for their initial reaction. I would rather look at the last words said because those are the ones coming from a place where you thought about shit first. You're not just reacting at that point but actually saying what you think after taking it all in. We DO need more conversations and less hate, less yelling about our own shit just listen sometimes.

Patrick Stowell exactly the guy in the video saying that how can people think like this while the white minutes talking and to be perfectly honest I’m taking offense because people like him are the reason why close minded people actually exist this kids a fucking joke he didn’t get no point of the video whatsoever and Joyner Lucas wouldn’t have wanted someone like this to watch it if they would’ve just acted the way he did because that’s not the way Joyner pretrade the video and wanted it to be perceived.

Thing is the first verse isn't a bunch of stereotypes. It's reality for some people. There are plenty of black guys who chest off the government and all that he said but everything the black guy said w asnt stereotypes either. Both verses were reality. That's thing. I see a lot of black guys reacting to this and saying we gotta come together and agree but they can't agree with the fact that the white guy wasn't lying. I see this in Justin and law Twins even tho I respect the fuck outta all them. Just some food for thought 💯✌

I truly wish everyone saw this video and saw the stories on every side. I live in a city on the outskirts of the ghetto so typically I have to go through it. Late at night I had to speed through a red light because a bunch of black guys were running at my car because of my skin color. I specifically remember hearing the line “get the fuck outta here white boy.” I don’t hate them for that. It’s what they were taught to hate the opposite color, like how white people have been trained to hate black people. I just wish we could all truly switch lives and understand each other. Amazing video. Almost brings tears to my eyes. I hope this video goes viral.

I’m Hispanic and you know what let’s take a moment and think if this could really happen, a one on one conversation with someone that doesn’t like you but you make it up but simply talking, no war, no killing each other you name it man. It would be an amazing think to do, if I was willing to talk to someone who has hatred against a type of race I 100% would so maybe that person could understand and afterwards just say no more. But today’s world we are still killing each other in the battle field.
Politics aside I would talk to someone one on one 100% if that what it takes to stop racism and starting showing love.

The end of the Joyner video was dope. The symbolism of two people that fall into a pattern of extreme stereotypical thinking from not understanding each other (or even not a lot of exposure to the other race). Then coming together and talking as human beings, and the embrace at the end is like saying, I can respect you as a human being and the honesty, and maybe that can help alter my perception so it's less extreme. That's dope. Good reaction to the video bro.

  • @MnemonicHack

You talk about how people in the middle of the country make stereotype against black people, but everyone, black white brown, stereotype the middle Americans a shit ton too. How'd you like to see your communities falling apart, your factories going under or hiring people who speak a different language and have a different culture coming in and taking jobs and bringing even more crime and more drugs, the coastal population centers dictating how the entire country should run and calling you hicks just cause you own a gun.
it's called the "rust belt" for a reason, because people who lived here and had communities here are seeing it all fall apart. At a factory I used to work at, 30 years ago white people made up 95% of the staff. Today, Hispanics make up about 75%, and you've gotta find someone to translate for you because half the supervisors don't speak English and more than half of the workers don't either. And you wonder why people in those states don't like foreigners and different cultures?

Let me jump on this real quick and express my feelings as a white man. Back then, my momma and dad divorced, he did things to her that I shouldn't talk about on here. We were thrown out the house as a white-mexican family. Dad went to prison 4-5 years at a time. We lived on the streets trying to make a living, we had family, but they didn't have the time for us. So we lived in a shitty place for 2 years. Rat shit everywhere, torn out roof, hardly any food, wore the same clothes for 4 days in a row, and hardly got to take showers and if we did, we all did at once. But my momma, as a single mom, worked her ass off to get us in a good position to be at. Slowly finding her way up the ranks and we know are living good. Shower, food, our own bed, we got a good life and I wouldn't take back any of it. But to say that my mom only got to where she is today because she is white, is ignorant. White privelage doesn't exist and I hate when people walk by and say shit like, "Oh that nigga lucky he white cause thats the only way he could be cleaned up like that with a nice vehicle".. first off I don't give a fuck if I'm white. Black people say nigga to each other, so I mean I can say it too. It'a not offensive, if it was then why do black people use it to each other? Lmao I support Trump too, disliked Obama, but that makes ME racist?? Look we all have different views, but to constantly nag at them isn't doing shit. This BLM movement isn't doing shit and neither is the ALM movement. Sorry this is long, and hopefully you'll hear my story. I'm a huge supporter of you, Keep Grinding!🙃

Some of what you wrote is wrong. The "n" word wasn't created for just black people. It was a variety of people that were deemed less worthy. Like poor white, native americans, blacks, mexicans, etc. Whatever power you think that a take off of that word makes you feel, why would you want it? Words only have power if you let them have power over you. I think you need to do some more research and don't focus on only your own.

The thing I find about stereotypes is they are derived from a generalised truth about cultures and the ways in which the people of that particular culture act, he is basically illustrating that we need to break the stereotypes from the inside out and stop prejudging one another and open dialogue to see each others struggl .

I think the reason why he insulted the black man with stereotypes then went to saying "I wish I knew your side." was Joyner Lucas' way of asking for clarification. Like saying "This is WHY I feel this way about you and my assumed reasons behind it. I wish you would tell me your actual reasons and give me a real time insight into your mind." And that lead into a black mans verse of saying what he thinks and what he feels. And in the end they both wind up seeing neither side is bad they are just misinformed on the other side's perspective. And they hug the shit out and start treating each other like every day people.
Joyner Lucas was playing both characters AND the mediator low key all at the same time.

This artist is very clear about the message he is giving, and it's not positive towards black people. He has the white guy say, "with all due respect". He has the black guy say, "with all disrespect". "I don't pity you" from the white guy, "I don't really like you" from the black guy. He has the black guy alone getting violent by throwing the chair, slapping the hat off the white guy's head, and throwing over the table. He has the black guy say, "die nigga" to the white guy. The artist is saying that white people think black people are capable equals, worthy of respect and not deserving of pity while black people are violent, hate white people, and want for them to be destroyed. It is pretty clear.

You know it took me until I was 14 to realize that it was normal to hide behind the couch from the cops? To be stop by a spot light if you're out passed dark.
To grow up with drugs all around you.
I've been on the ground with a gun to my head.
I went down to slow because I'm legally blind and couldn't see where I was going.
My cousins told me I was just albino so I wouldn't feel different from them.
I never really thought race was an issue to much until the past five years.
I have people yelling at me online not knowing anything about me. Telling me I'm racist and I have blood on my hands.
Telling me I don't know what it's like to be poor. Even though I lived under a bridge next to a dead body when I was four.
Telling me my kids are evil because their pale with blue eyes.
When they find out I'm only half white I get it doesn't matter because you look it.
So a whole half of me doesn't matter now.
And I can't say anything back because that proves I'm racist.
I can't say I'm not because that proves I'm racist.
I can't say my family is made up of all kinds of people and it's love because that proves I'm racist.
It makes me so sad. It really hurts my heart because as a teen in the 90s we preached and believed the skin color, sexual orientation, religion, and gender didn't mean anything real about who you were.
They were just parts that made a whole person. If that person was was good you were part of the group. We cared more about who you were as a person. What you thought, believed, felt, cared about and hated.
We wanted to learn about each other. We wanted to see other people's points of view and learn.
Now it all about the labels. What boxes you fit in. No one asks before assuming things about you.
No one cares to sit and listen it's just always ready to fight.
Hopefully things can get back to the was but I don't know. So many people seem so mad.
All I can do is teach my girls what I believe and pray the world doesn't change them.
Just keep reinforcing it every day that everyone has a back story and before you judge you might want to hear it.

I know people like the white dude and the lived in the black dude situation coming up. Having served in the military it forced everyone to be understanding of the other and even if you cant, we had to go get the mission done. The hug at the end was the key to the video. Because people are people. The whole living off the government thing is why America is the greatest country in the world. Everyone gets a chance to come up from nothing. Government aide might need to be refined but it is the only reason I’m alive today and giving my kids everything I never had. Facts.

The thing that makes me appreciate this piece of art is that it speaks truth from both sides of the story. The reason why stereotypes are stereotypes is because they have truth behind them. There are points I can see and agree with from both sides. Ignorance is also on both sides. It’s cool to have your own opinions and bias, but as a double minority looking into this particular situation, it’s best to be open minded to ideas on both sides of the political and social spectrum. Diversity of thought and ideas is what can really open minds, and without that, true progress can never be made. Close mindedness cannot combat close mindedness. And that’s what the problem is with most of the Black reactions to this piece. Just a thought. I’d love to hear your opinion on mine.

I love this song, I like how he shit on both sides and also showed both sides of the story then ended it in a hug. The n word without the er, has become so normalized in the mainstream that its become desensitized to so many people that white people say even more now then ever. I truly do believe that sometimes it's misinterpreted that certain white people are appropriating black culture when they are simply accepting it. Its dumb that it has to be that way that black culture and white' s lack of culture can't mesh at times. It has to be completely separate and neither race is supposed to branch out or the white guy is a wigger and the black guy is a Tom. Every race has individuals with different opinions and tastes and both races are guilty of shitting on anyone who is different. I have black friends who are ashamed to admit that they listen to classic rock because of what there black friends will think of them. Music is music and you're not whitewashed if you listen to other genres other than rap and r&b. My rant is over but essentially just let people be free of their stereotypical boundaries

it annoys me when people say its systematic against black people, yes i know that your grandparents were slaves and i acknowledge that and its terrible but white people have to face the same problems my dads lived in our city for 10 years and cant find a job and he works just as hard theres difficulties for everyone of every race and cultural, yes I agree black lives matter but does that mean every other race is less because i disagree I think all lives matter the same. theres such a thing as a stereotype because its grouping a race or cultural that usably happens within it but now its taken as bad because people think its bad. saying ALL black people like KFC is stupid because not all black people do but thats what we came up with and then everyone decides to play connect the dots but they connect them in the wrong way, people now just say racist, misogynist and other forms of grouping if you group them so pretty much everyone is a hypocrite, now people are getting too sensitive, yes i agree people can show there emotions if they want but saying something for someone else feelings is bullshit. if you make a racist joke to a black person who is your friend they will probably laugh then come back with a just as good comeback. But now if you say a racist joke to a white friend they might say its hate speech when your just guessing at what there thinking which is stereotypical. the reason stereotypes are even made is because there is usually some truth in them and can let us connect with people easier if we think positive but instead we all say RACIST when maybe they could've become your future friend. People now just see what other people are doing and join in because of social anxiety and trying to fit in. If a black guy goes to a BLM protest and says all lives matter they will get mad and in some cases beat them up and call them racist or something like that because ones again were into grouping people. If they don't like BLM protests then they're racist misogynistic pieces of shit when in reality its someone who has a different opinion you cant handle. so in one way of going for or against your making what some people call "unconscious bias" and is grouping people together without thinking it and thats how the social construct is made with groups and guessing and getting to know each other.

The point of the video isn't "stereotypes." The point is that both sides are somewhat right. The fact that during the first verse you just kept saying "man it's crazy that people think like this," but when the black guys part you acknowledged that some shit was facts.
    That's part of the problem.
