The curries they sell at Heron are very good no doubt about it if you can plan ahead a bit I find it is best to let them thaw out overnight in the fridge the just heat them up in a saucepan over a low heat as using a microwave can make the chicken rubbery. My only criticism is I wish it was a bigger portion as I'm a greedy pig.
I have just text my wife to pick up a few of these as there is a Heron Foods opposite where she works lol. The entire range this company knocks out is great. Chicken is always tender. Unbelievable value for money ❤
I'm the kind of person who likes to mix my food, condiments, and beverages; for example what I do with a frozen supermarket chicken curry is during the cooking process I add King Prawns to the chicken curry and continue cooking. I also mix hot chilli sauce with either Mexican, Greek, Turkish, Spanish, or Southern Italian tomato sauce. If you're going to mix fruit beverages make sure that you only mix a citrus beverage with another citrus beverage; don't mix a citrus beverage with Banana or Mango beverages as they don't blend well. I must also be in the minority who doesn't mix Gin with Tonic Water, instead I mix Gin with Sprite.
The dearly departed Poundstretcher used to sell curries branded as Dewhurst in long life packaging. I never found them in stores again, they didn't need refrigeration. I traced them to a Dutch company which makes airline meals but sadly no longer sold in the UK. They were absolutely awesome tasting. A couple of quid for a curry is a good deal.
I'll have to pop into Herron on Monday, I'm impressed with its lack of E numbers and preservatives. I still have some bhajis I made for New years Eve in the freezer, and some garlic and coriander keema naan bread mmmmmm 🤤.
I think the most tempting thing about this curry is the ingredients list and none of that rubber Thailand chicken. I'll be sure to have a crack at these next time I get to Heron.

That meal actually seems good! Btw, If you see something called “maltodextrin” in ingredients that’s a hidden sugar that can be more inflammatory and raises blood sugar more than glucose, fructose, sucrose, etc.
Had this for my tea this evening. Absoluttely great! I mixed in some chopped peppers to lessen the volume of sauce. Looking forward to trying the Chocken Jalfrezi in the next couple of days from the same range. What a great recommendation.

OK Gareth, I have tried most of the curries from my local Heron Foods in Halifax, at £2.00 they all taste excellent and great value for money. I usually accompany mine with garlic and corriander naan bread, or pilau rice.
Cheers David
