It's a total myth that the seeds hold the most heat. The fact is they hold ZERO heat all. The heat is all in the placenta. Johnny Scoville explains this on his channel and I've also heard Ed Curry of the Pucker Butt chili empire say the same. Love the channel mate.

eating one while i watch this video! i consider myself a seasoned chillihead,
been eating superhots and extracts for year, my capsaicin tolerance has gotten pretty darn high!
and gotta say this curry was up there with the hottest things i've ever eaten,

I can confirm, but it depends on the day for me. I love vindaloos, tindaloos, phaals etc and not just for the heat, but the interplay of flavours too. This bad boy can seem mild if I build my chilli tolerance up, but burn my mouth out if I let it slide and eat proper English food for a while. Buyer beware lol.

You're a braver man than I !!! We tried it and it was almost brutal . We had to sort of tone it down by diluting it with other sauces . Even then had to drink loads of water to get through it . My backside was on fire the next day . Well done bald foodie guy for finishing it .

Dilute with milk or yoghurt for better results. Finely chopped spices tend to stick to the tongue and water doesn't wash it away. Dairy products sort of "gloop" over the affected surface and carry the spices with them.

I tried one of these a while back. I love my spicy food but this very nearly overwhelmed me. After a few mouthfuls the heat definitely took over. I finished it but it took me a good 20 or 30 minutes and copious amounts of milk to get through it. 😆
My stomach wasn't too impressed though. 😬

I used to eat those two also, but I have actually gone a bit more mild lately and discovered the flavours that a kahari offers. It's got a low- medium heat nothing crazy but the grilled peppers and onion chunkyness got me. Something just tastes amazing about grilled peppers chicken and other bits of veg in a curry sauce. If you like heat ask for chili fried rice. It's amazing if done well!

I saw you were considering eating this again 😜. With me, the stomach cramps started almost immediately, and I was actually having minor convulsions. It doesn't get better quickly either. So I bought another couple, and the 2nd time wasn't as bad. Vindaloos and Phalls tasted like Korma at that point. I didn't have third one for a few months and it was just as bad as the first time. Good video. 2 things though, first the hottest part of the chilli being the seeds is actually a fallacy, it is actually the white membrane (placenta) inside the chilli that contains the most capsaicin. The second thing is that the large red chilli isn't actually a Carolina reaper as they are small and misshaped, this is probably something like a Aleppo.

I have a psychosomatic reaction now, so if I watch videos about chilli peppers or even talk about them I actually start to sweat, and quite profusely. Never happened when I was younger but started about 10 years ago, after probably 15 years of eating very spicy food. I guess it's my body putting up the defences early when it thinks an attack is coming... Watching this made me sweat!! Great upload.

I had 2 of these in my life, about 6 months apart. It's a shame Iceland stopped selling them but the fact that they never came back shows the lack of repeat customers the curry had! I'd guess that less than 5% of people could eat a full one. Each time I had it, it took about an hour to eat and the curry was stone cold by the end, but still burning just as bad as when it was warm. These are on another level for a supermarket curry, but the funny thing is I got one 6 months after trying it the first time, so how bad can they be really. Unless you're a veteran curry eater, forget eating this, you won't finish it. The worst part was that disgusting pepper they put in, not because of the heat (it wasn't even spicy really) but because the skin was like trying to eat plastic.

Great review again Gareth and thanks for confirming my thoughts that these supermarket curries are never gonna to be as hot as the restaurant varieties but still still good valve for £1.95 and you can pimp up the heat yourself with all the chilli oils out there 😆😆😉
Top tips I always add some fresh chopped coriander to these supermarkets curries and sometimes a pinch of garam masala for more authenticity and it gets me halfway there to restaurant quality without having to pay a £10 for the privilege of a sore ring piece in the morning 😂😂😂 Try these with a minty yoghurt raita and don't forget to pop the wet wipes in the freezer for an hour or 2 😂😉😆

Eaten a fair few of these during the last year or so, beast of a curry. Nuclear grade heat. Not bad for under £2.

Looks amazing, though I have to say that I've given up on microwave rice and gone back to cooking rice on the stove. Much cheaper, although I did have an issue with the saucepan boiling over, during simmering. That was solved by finding a fool proof (it needed to be) method, on, where else? UA-cam! 🍚😉👍

I've tried the Morrisons volcanic vindaloo with no issues so I'll give this ago as have seen it on a few other vlogs. Good price for a challenge I guess. Tbh I'm betting the wife's habbanero chilli's from the garden are hotter. She put them in a wrap with donner meat and salt a pepper chicken from icelands and it blew my bottom out the next morning 🤣👍

Normally I'm a Tikka Masala person but I might try this for a laugh. I popped into Iceland in Aldershot the other day (first time in ages). They do some nice stuff. I was looking for the steak grilled potato shapes you featured, coincidentally they are my favorite crisps at the moment. I would never have known these potato shapes existed if it weren.t for your channel, so thanks! I plan to try them Monday with a homemade cheeseburger.
