Iron Hands need more lore, they have some under-rated characters

Would the Iron Hands try to use a Necron biotransference device?

Probably...but it is very doubtful that they could succeed.

The tragedy of the Iron Hands, being cool on paper but having practically no lore to support it.

God I'm so sick of this stupid take. There is actually a lot of really good Iron Hands lore if you look for it, the David Guymer duology, Wrath of Iron, the forgeworld books etc. etc.. The problem is that most "fans" only know what the big "lore" youtubers tell them. I'll admit that I would very much like for them to take the spotlight more often but they don't "lack lore".

The Iron Hands problem is not lack of lore, it is lack of attention from GW and Black Library.

@@joseemilioromanruiz7152Most of those books don't even feature the IH primarily. You cannot deny they have way less lore than any of the other legions, only beating out the 2nd and 11th.

@@joseemilioromanruiz7152 usually if nobody's heard of books in an ip as big as 40k, it's because they're so bland that nobody wants to talk about them. Hell even bad lore is stuff people will mention in disgust. I've never recalled having to "Go looking" for cool shit done by other legions like the Space Wolves, Blood Angels, or even the White Scars probably because the community has deemed it "fun" so it comes to me by word of mouth.

@@yamahadrag69 That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all week. That's not true at all. It's because:
#1 "Fans" and content creators are too lazy to actually figure out what is going on(aka reading the actual lore) beyond reading the wiki which is an incredibly bland and inaccurate way of learning about the lore.
#2 Admittedly GW isn't helping either by making most of the books really hard to come by unless you have something to view ebooks in or find them online. There's also a lot of them so a lot of stuff passes over the radar.
#3 Despite most space marine "fans" apparently being into them for being grimdark super soldiers most actually only stick to the cookie-cutter "good-guy" factions like blood angels and white scars. And since the iron hands are actually portrayed as bad guys they refuse to engage with them because "they're mean in a grimdark setting, how dare they??!!1" unlike their super special never-do-anything-wrong white scars or salamanders.
As for you're statement that anything obscure in 40k is bland, there are so, so many examples that show the opposite is true but the most blatant one is Peter Fehervari's books. They're absolutely, genuinely amazing and he himself is a very likely contender for being the best Black Library author, ever(I'm not even remotely exagerating btw).

The Iron Hands are what more space marines should be imo. Brutal, almost soulless monsters that prioritize victory over everything else, even if it means occasionally using some seriously heretical means to do it.
Edit: Really recommend reading Crius' two Keys of Hel stories too btw.

The following factions had “always been male-only”, until they weren’t:
      - Imperial Guard
      - The Inquisition
      - The T'au
      - Adeptus Mechanicus
      - Adeptus Arbites
      - Necrons
      - Titan Legios
      - Knights
      - Genestealer Cults
Where was the ‘anti-woke’ moral outrage when they got 'fem-conned'?

@@Mr_Bunk I'm mostly blase about the whole femstodes thing, it was introduced poorly but in itself doesn't really harm the setting all that much, but you're counterargument here is just....completely wrong. There have been female Guard since at least 3rd edition, such as the Last Chancers having a couple named ones that got models and more in the books. The Inquisition has featured female members since a nerd first realised they liked being talked down to by an authoritarian woman in a sharp suit and glasses (which if you've read anything from Black Library is basically year zero), one of the first and most prominent Tau characters is female.....
Women in 40K aren't new. Janky retcons aren't either, but every single one has been met with Ire. The newcrons, the Primaris, heck the HH novels have had nerds frothing constantly about things that were changed or reorganised in them. You're building a strawman which leaves you as bad as the guy you're responding to

    • @Mr_Bunk

@@seanread5556 The amount of mental gymnastics you're pulling here is astounding. None of your points work and you missed my point entirely. Every single counter-example you made was at some point _after_ Rogue Trader, or at some point _after_ (NOT during) the release of all the game's younger factions up until the Votann, only proving my point further.
The main opposition to female Custodes is that women have been retconned into having always been a part of a faction which neither had women in them, _nor had any reason for women_ *not* _to be in them._ The same opposition claims that this is "unprecedented" despite the same retcon happening to half the factions in the game ever since 2nd Edition. This blatant contradiction is what I am pointing out, and it proves that the public-facing argument against this 'fem-con' is utterly baseless, and a thin veneer over the real motivation of base sexism and pushing a reactionary agenda for the culture wars.
Oh, and you have no idea what a strawman is. Maybe you should know what words mean before you use them. Now I've proved my point, I am done with your crude parody of a debate, expect no further reply.
