I confess seeing Terry Pratchett at the end leaves a lump in my throat now that he has passed on. An excellent adaptation of the great man's art.
Sir, Terry Pratchett:
Same here.
Absolutely brilliant. How has this gem been hidden from the world. Thank for brining this to the rest of us. Amazing story, brilliant cast. Hollywood/disney couldnt cast a picnic in comparison.
Have you seen "The colour of Magic"? Also a diamond of an adaptation of Terry's creative genius!
In the UK it's called "Going Postal" and is based on the book of the same name by the late Terry Pratchett. It was released as a mini series by Sky in 2010. The beautiful Claire Foy, later to play the young Queen Elizabeth in the series "the Queen", is great in it.
Here in America we have a different meaning for the words going postal😂
I think this channel just changes the names to keep the films on UA-cam.
@@anarchytelevision8445what does it mean? In England it means being extremely angry or violent (because of the shootings by US post employees)
@@smoath yep
@@anarchytelevision8445 you must have fun thinking up the titles. They're funny, like the titles when China or Poland rename a film (no offence meant to anyone)
Fantastic, Terry Pratchitt is a genius and this is a really good adaptation. A good one for the kids, definitely.
This is good for everyone .
🤣🤣🤣 It took me a good few minutes, before realizing the Senior Postman Groat is our beloved Manuel from the Faulty Tower. 🤣🤣🤣 I am so happy...
One of the best movies I have watched since The Sherlock Holmes and Enola Holmes movies, bring more like these, very fascinating to watch
You clearly live in a movie fantasy world.
Enola Holmes I haven’t heard of that. Is that some bs feminist shite?
Have you seen the Forbidden Empire and D’tanian with Orlando Bloom? 2 fantastic films.
Enola Holmes, a must watch, 2 part movie, the youngest and only sister
What a fun little movie. Different and better than I expected. Thoroughly enjoyable.
This, in my opinion, is one of the best adaptations of a Terry Pratchett Disk World novels.
Hilarious, the casting is pure genius. More please.🤣
Decided to watch and got sucked in! I’ve never heard of it, but I’m glad I stopped to check it out. Really really good.
Now that was an unexpected, deliciously quirky, oddball adventure. Definitely so glad I watched it.
Couldn’t agree more
I'm glad to see "Miguel" again!
I read everything written by Terry Pritchard, I enjoyed every piece of work .
What an absolutely delightful and clever move and superior cast! Loved and enjoyed every moment. I take it to be a British production-they always know how to make great quality movies.
I just started to watch this movie and me and my wife are loving it already.. thank you for putting a smile on our faces.. we appreciate you
I'm glad to see "Miguel" again!
R.I.P Terry Pratchett, you are sorely missed.
"Going Postal", a great read & this is a surprisingly true to the book rendition, pop the kettle on, put ya feet up & enjoy... 😁
How do they assemble a cast like this and this film go under the radar ???
Because UA-cam still controls the algorithm. People need to share things like this if you want it to grow. Good thing is everyone is sick to death of woke media & big Corp films that suck so things like this are being seen and loved.
because length and breath of the land book shops had TP books on an entire shelf as to hidden nature it was a tv movie by sky limited reach but much like books these programs are fondly remembered
Have you seen the Forbidden Empire and D’tanian with Orlando Bloom? 2 fantastic films.
Nothing gets under my radar.
I retired from the USPS with 32+ years and so I was drawn to watch the movie. It is very good so far and around the 1:10 mark, I love this: “ but sometimes a slow delivery beats the express!” 😂
I'm finding so many great movies on UA-cam. Who'd have thunk it.
That surprised me too!
LOVED David Suchet in Poirot and STILL LOVE HIM IN THIS Magnificent actor...
"Certain death or the Post Office, hardly a choice", cracked me up.
What a fantastic movie, so glad got to watch it, a real gem!!
Very good movie. First time seeing it and found it very entertaining. I really enjoyed the referencing of the changes in technology.
I love that Terry has the final word 😊
Thank you so much it's been ages since I have watched a movie, and by far the longest. Thanks you made my Easter 🐣 🎉❤ .

Words do not kill animals and people do but not words that should be taught everywhere again Love that quote all of great learning quote in this movie that could help our world today
I have no idea how I missed this but I am glad I discovered your channel ,thank you very much it is the best fun watch I have had in ages .
Have you seen the Forbidden Empire and D’atanian with Orlando Bloom. 2 fantastic films.
Incredible! Actually delightful entertainment with such classic appeal of having been brought to one’s senses
WOW Charles Dance!! I just watched him find his unknown South African family in Who Do You Think You Are!! Marvelous find to see now!! Thanks.
Love Terry Pratchett, this one is the best movie from one of his stories
Glad to see butler Manuel from Faulty Towers as the deputy postmaster! It took me a while to remember his face….Lol😅😅😅😅
Great spotting.!
@@benrobertson7855 I'm glad to see "Miguel" again!
What a thoroughly delightful double feature! Absolutely loved this production, my little niece and nephew were entranced!
A masterpiece, beautiful, wise and touchy story for everybody and young people.
I'm so glad I watched it!
Going Postal by the late, great, Sir Terry Pratchett. The bearded postman at the very end is (was) Sir Terry Pratchett in a cameo role.
I'm glad to see "Miguel" again!
You’ll love the Forbidden Empire and D’tanian with Orlando Bloom? 2 fantastic films.
One of his best books ❤
What an amazing movie. Brilliant mind of Terry Pratchett, to come out with this amazing characters and fantasy connecting real life situations. Just brilliant. We don't see much of these now days.
Have you seen the Forbidden Empire and D’tanian with Orlando Bloom? 2 fantastic films.
Great movie. Let's hope Disney never get their grubby paws on the heritage of Terry Pratchett.
I think Amazon got their filthy mitts on it instead, did you see The Watch?😂
@@dirkwolf9463 No, I don't think I did.
Everything has a price, wake up
This is NOT the name of the movie - the REAL name is "Going Postal", from the Terry Pratchett universe of Discworld books. There are no opening or end credits given here. This is all an attempt to circumvent copyright laws, no doubt. The closing then opening credits appear in the middle when the two episodes naturally break. "GP" is currently playing on Peacock, fully intact, in the original 2 parts, under "Television". (It was released as a TV movie in Britain.)
In this fantasy-romance-comedy, a con man is forced into becoming the city's postmaster in order to avoid the gallows. He gradually shifts his perspective as he learns of the consequences of his actions and how the woman he has fallen for was effected by his cons as well. This is an inventive story with a lot of charm. The production design is well maintained throughout - a mix of Victorian / Italianate styling with mostly Medieval technology polished by magic (the few Discworld films I've seen all evoke a similar mood). The score enhances the action; the editing is well done.
I like the cast and now cannot picture anyone else in those roles. Apart from Dance and Suchet, the rest are new to me; performers I would not mind seeing more of. It is a lot of fun seeing David Suchet as a truly hateful and evil bad guy - instead of little grey cells, they are all tarry black cells! As a fan bonus, the author, Terry Pratchett, appears in a cameo at the end when he attempts to deliver a letter to Suchet's character.
Angua is the only Werewolf I like. For all the right reasons ❤️🔥🐺
Simply WOW ! Thanks so much for nearly 3 hours of suspension.❤
The film Is called Going Postal. It's an adaptation of Terry Pratchett's book of the same name....
Suchet's enterprise reminds of legal thieves of India, like Flipkart, just siphoning 'investments' from every possible corner dazzling with sleek advt, and guzzling it as salaries 😂
Hilarious that the villain never thought his accountant would keep a precise ledger of ALL of his deeds - including his misdeeds. Who does this remind us of!?! 🤣
hahaha, idk but smells like stinky diaper.
Fantastic flick, a true hidden gem.
Nothing woke, no agenda pushing, just a great story.... I'm 100% all in! It's so refreshing to just enjoy a funny movie with great acting.
Nice try. LOL
Anyone who thinks that the Discworld series and the late Sir Terry are not full of progressive inclusive ideas and support of minorities of all kinds has clearly never read any of his work before.
@@simonorourke4465 If it is not that obvious so that it can be seen without analyzing things, then it's fine! And it seems that way to me. You do know there are people who purely enjoy watching a movie or reading a book without overthinking things, right?
Bizarre steampunk-style fantasy comedy (?) but impossible not to become intrigued by the plot. Werewolves and vampires and golems? Oh my!
All from the brilliant mind of Terry Pratchett and his marvellous tales from the Disc World: with such colourful characters as Cohen the Barbarian, Death, Corporal Carrot, Corporal Nobbs and many, many others.
Ah yes! The most entertaining fantasy Disc World novels from Sir Terry Pratchett are a world of their own where everyone can find things to relate to.❤
The movie is "Going Postal," from the novel of the same name written by Sir Terry Pratchett.
what a delightful find this movie is . thanks
So nice to see a good movie, among all the rubbish I watch.
Going Postal. Do you really think people don't know Terry Pratchett?
What is this 'weirdness'???
Pure escapism; and I love it
Strange that we now live in a time where the original title of this movie is being censored. It was a pun and a good one at that! Terry Prachett's "Going Postal" like all of his books is a great read full of sidesplitting jokes and subtle humor. Pick one up!
Prachett! Yes, of course. Brilliant creative man.
Nah, nothing to doing with being censored. It's uploaders trying to fly under the radar and avoid getting banned for copyright breache. They shove up this stuff to get thousands of views, then replace the video with one of a Chinese girl knitting baby booties and try to flog the channel as a succesful popular one based on the channel's stats.
@@Belzedar if that's the price of getting to watch most of the movies I usually don't get a chance to .. thats alright
This was a two-part miniseries titled “Going Postal”.
When the sargent of the watch was a warewolf i realized what line of books this film is based upon....what a pure pleasure !!!!
Have you seen the Forbidden Empire and D’atanian with Orlando Bloom. 2 fantastic films.
wiki shows it as "Terry Pratchett's Going Postal" and the cast has a few gems such as Charles Dance (Game of Thrones among other movies), David Suchet (Hercule Poirot movies among other) and Claire Foy (played a young Queen Elizabeth II in the TV series, among other movies)
Thx I looked it up and couldn't find it under that title and there were no credits.... this is what film buffs have to do to hide from the algorithms I suppose. 😎 But I'm grateful!
It was a lovely romp, I really enjoyed it!
@@lagringa7518 This is really sketchy. They state that "All of the content on this channel is under legal license" yet as you mentioned, they went to great effort to disguise the identity of the program. I would recommend the "sister production" to this, the equally entertaining "The Colour of Magic", but if these people are running it, who knows what it might now be called!
@@KenLieck = " "All of the content on this channel is under legal license" " - - - - - Lies. If you are interested, "Going Postal", "Hogfather", and "Color of Magic" are playing on Peacock fully intact. "Wyrd Sisters" is here on UA-cam, but I haven't watched it.
Curiosity piqued, my anawer came at 7:25. We're off on an adventure!
I'm glad to see "Miguel" again!
Bravo! Excellet Entertainment. Thank you.
Pleasure to see real , beautiful handwriting . The only thing worth mentioning about this movie
Brilliant! Where has this jewel been hiding?
Charles Dance … Lord Vetinarri personified. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Charles Dance makes a wonderful Lord Vetinari.
Thanx for posting this🎉 God bless & God bless Sir Terry❤
As this is a series, I'm curious to know if there are more episodes. This was quite good. A fun, whimsical watch with a nod to current issues.
For way more fun stories, try the books by Terry Pratchett. They are a bliss
@Mystic_Light - I never read the book, but apparently the 2 episodes cover it.
@Mystic_Light - By the way, other works by Pratchett are available to you, too - "Wyrd Sisters" is on UA-cam (haven't watched it yet) and "Hogfather" and "Color of Magic" are on Peacock. All are placed in the Discworld milieu. AND there are 33 books in the series!

Sorry to disappoint you , but Andrew Sachs died in November 2016

Great movie/miniseries, in a steam punk sorta way! Well done!
More Medieval tech to me.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
