Someone said that the correct title for the series should have been "Chasing the f**king sun 2"😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 very appropriate
😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
Chasing the dream sounds better ❤
The Xhosa commentary is the funniest commentary you will hear. Even us Xhosa native speakers it is always jarring and definitely mad 😂
Yeah man I don't remember hearing "sorcery" in English rugby commentary 😂 It's fantastic
Shamopo!! Shampizi!!

Love the energy
I love this channel. A kiwi who really loves the game, and one who renews my faith in all kiwis after the sour response by many a kiwi. Love you guys ❤
As a South African living in NZ I can assure you that any sourness is blown out of proportion. There are one or two people who were but generally I think kiwis have been pretty magnanimous about it.
The English halftime talk the first episode starts with is just crazy, sets the tone for some seriously entertainment. You realise we not here to play world cup rugby but to win it.
Even watching it now as a grown man I'm still crying for no reason watching this!! So pumped for Chasing The Sun2! Nad to echo your words, rugby players don't get paid nearly, not even close to enough for what they put their bodies through
@mr.s.a.4456 because there's no TV money. In the NFL an owner can not care about ever winning because he/she knows their share of the guaranteed billions in the TV deal is coming in. They split it equally.
I am loving this series. It’s so real and connects.
this season felt more technical which i enjoyed. and i can't wait to see felix jones finally get a head coaching gig of an international team. i think he's gonna be special
Yeah man seeing all the details in the tactical briefings seemed really next level (even if the result in ep. 1 was basically smash Finn Russell 😅)
@@TwoCentsRugby I only played D2 rugby here in the US (some D1, but we were a D2 team that over achieved and snuck into D1 for a few years) and even we knew to target their lynchpin, every time.
"Their #8, you can't give him any space. He's big, he's fast, he knows how to get past the first defender, you have to tackle him low and hang on for your help to come."
"Their flyhalf is going to be a problem, we've go to slow him down and cut off his space and time. Really pressure him and limit his options."
"Both of their centers are good, especially the first center. He's great at identifying space and creating space where there isn't any with his sidestep. You've got to get in front of him no matter what and force him one direction or another. Don't let him dictate the collision because he'll just offload to his support..."
"The fullback played for the Eagles back in the day. He'll inject himself anywhere in the backline if it's advantageous, he'll pass and loop, throw dummy passes, and kick up and unders and grubbers, he's not as fast as he used to be but he's still a unit. He's got the whole toolkit. We don't expect you to contain him every single time but do your best. Flankers, you really have to stay alert. One of you needs to just stay on him in open play ..."
My teachers lectures in school in Northern Cape was heavily salted with f-words. No parent would dare challenge a teacher that time. Our grades were impressive 😂😂😂
Passionate, honest men that wear hearts on their sleeves
I feel for the folks who don't understand Xhosa. They're missing out on the most hilarious commentary ever. Listen, even Wrestlemania comments don't stand a chance against the Xhosa Commentators 😅
I WATCHED RUGBY BECAUSE OF THEM 😅
Earned a sub. Highly respect everything u say in every video u post. Non bias and fair. A true passion for the game and players aswell as the fans.
I won’t lie, the first episode was not all that for me. You are right about the first series and this one having a different feel. The only thing that really kept me attached to my screen are the personal stories from the players. When I see another man cry, it really cuts me deep. Looking forward to more of that, oh especially the standing ovation Mapimpi got when he was announced in the bok squad. I watched the squad announcement last year and I knew Mapimps was going to get the biggest standing ovation before he got onto the stage. Xhosa people love him too much!!!!!!! And they are all over SA
Can we plsssss get the countries that lost against us to watch this toooo😢😅im sure they will get goosebumps and cry as well…it’s just brilliant and this only after episode 1…I don’t think comparing CTS1 and CTS2 should be compared….it was 2 completely different worldcups….each win carries its own weight🎉🎉🎉
I guess you can call it F-Bomb Squad? 😅
Lol yeah that is true! 😅
And swearing used to be big no- no other than on the field and maybe in the scrum.
Francois Pienaar even told a couple of players to go brush their hair 🤣
@@Wolf-hh4rv I think its the Irish influence - after seeing the documentary on the 09 Lions series, I was surprised at all the f-bombs from the NH players. Wasn't really a thing in SA, but after Rassie and Jacques got back from Munster you saw or heard more of it. Even 2019 WC wasn't so much
Yeah, they learn that kinda language in Ireland😂
Nice one mate! Looking forward to your review of the rest, with an F-bomb or two thrown in for context🤙🏻
As a Boks fan that grew up in SA and played school rugby, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Keep the content coming mate! Been loving ut since the wc
The producers went there - they went and played Beethoven’s ninth. And it couldn’t have been better
❤ love this series
Goeie Program! Groete uit Lima Peru!
"A lot of f-bombs... but they seem to work." 😂😂
This should be the blurb for the series. Gave me a good laugh thanks
I always enjoy your show and delivery, but I'm not sure this delivery did justice to what is arguably the best rugby documentary in at least a decade, if not ever
Thanks Mark- great segment. One aspect that always interests me is how non-Saffas experience a look at the "inside" of S.A Rugby and, in part, life in S.A. itself?
For those of us who grew up in the culture and who played a bit of rugby at any level, the "South African'-ness" of Chasing the Sun is not surprising and it's very relatable. It's also VERY accurate especially as regards the real life day to day challenges of the ordinary person in this country and that is often referenced in CTS1 and looks like it will be in CTS2 as well. That is all absolutely true and we are all super aware of it.
It's just how life is and how rugby is percieved / lived here.. Just wonder how that looks to people who don't know S.A or have no idea how it feels to be a Saffa? Believable or maybe seemingly over dramatised? 🤔
Yeah man when they say things about bringing hope to people or being the only thing that works in South Africa it does seem to hit pretty hard.
I can't say I understand it personally from my isolated life here in NZ. As you know I lived in China in the 2000s/2010s and can say I saw both levels of wealth and poverty there which I'd never experienced in NZ.
Believe it or not at my first place in a small Chinese city I only had running water turned on at certain times of day and there even was loadshedding! (we're talking 2005 so a long time ago now).
But I think I can feel the honour AND responsibility that these guys have on them - I think surely it's a kind of pressure/motivation that is different from other nations. I could be wrong but that's my gut feeling.
@TwoCentsRugby how do you watch Chasing the Sun 2 outside South Africa?

I think the difference between the two was also the prep time the team had. For the first one Rassie only had 18months to prepare. So they would have been more emotional than planning fueled. Impo
If you’re in Australia, where did you manage to stream it?
Where did you watch it? As a South African living outside of south africa, it's hard to watch supersport content. Can you help me out?
Does anybody in Canada know where I can watch it?
Would love to watch it if I had access.

As a Saffa, i would like to know what's your opinion on South African fans and the rugby culture compared to the kiwi fans
I would be interested in your opinion as well 🇿🇦🇿🇦🏉🏉
A&E rugby has the show on his channel.
If i may ask. How did you get to watch the documentary from New Zealand since you don't have DSTV there.
VPN
No access in Europe, but anyway, as a documentary sports series, it will always speak more to the SA audience than the international audience. Especially after this last World Cup dramas.
No, that is not the reason. I don't understand why they are not making accessible because it really sheds a lot of light for anyone who loves rugby regardless of where they are. Saffas who don't have DSTV channel cannot watch it. It's has nothing to do with its audience appeal. It is about the exclusive rights of the channel. This is very frustrating cos the majority of Saffas have no access to DSTV. I had to sign up to an American patreon Yutuber to watch it.
thanks bud 👍
Where do you watch it in Australia
Saw a rugby channel called A&E rugby had it on their channel..not sure they were allowed to post it but has views...if they weren't allowed then it will be taken down though
How are you getting to watch it? I'm, in the UK and dying to see it. I loved the first chasing the sun docu.
It's only screened on Supersport's DSTV channels as far as I know. So you would have to be a DSTV subscriber to view the episodes.
@@keithjulie7873 I hope they put it on the URC TV like CTS 1.
Same problem here. Dying to watch it but can't get it in the UK. Anyone out there got any advice.
It's not entirely legal but if you have a VPN and a DSTV subscription it is possible...
I see the first series on torrents...hopefully we will see this on there too soon. And I have zero issues if DSTV are that stupid that they don't make it available outside SA. I would subscribe to showmax and even pay extra to watch it if I could - serious oversight from DSTV

F-Bombs on the SuperSport version, not the MNet (family channel) version. Apparently they bleep it.
I like the way you pronounce the surnames compared to the rest of the world.
Yeah. Very few can pronounce them correctly 😂😂😂
Any idea how to watch both seasons in Aus ?
Rugby Pass TV just released the first series yesterday...their app is on Google Play....
Listen to what he says in Two Cents Gets Distracted video called Chasing The Views ( forward to chasing the sun bit ) and he mentions the messaging app lol where the second series is that he watched ...
The title is "odd" for me. As an old bugger I can remember only thing that could literally chase the sun; and beat it. The same thing could cross the vast breadth of the North Atlantic Ocean in under two hours, arriving approximately two hours before it took off, on the International time scale. It was not Kolbe, Mapimpi or Nkosi. It was a Blackbird. The SR71 Blackbird. Lesson over🤣.
It comes from a speech by Mandela, where he makes reference to all south africans playing in the sun. Well that's what we do, chasing the sun...
I thought the 1st one had a lot to do with the RWC taking place in the Land of the Rising Sun?

I also want to know. If you can't say Mark then just go "wink wink" 😉

A lot of F-bombs😂
I like this a lot i must say
But its a bit overdramatic Lol
But thats how documentaries usually are .
Yes we Saffas understand there has to be a sentimental political curtsy to the Madiba and Kolisi x 2 titles but not a mention of the 2007 triumph?!?!?! Regardless, Ep 1 was decent and I can foresee the quality escalating
What type of question is this....Its brilliant chasing the sun....is this even a question?
I struggled to understand Rassie from time to time. Can only imagine it was the same for non South Africans?
He has a very afrikaans accent when speaking english - so its understandable.
Honestly the first one was better than the second one 😅
Naah
4th haha
The F-bombs were disappointing. My 7-year-old loves the Boks but I can't let him watch this 😒
Yeah my 8 year old son tells me off if even say "crap" - so likewise it's off limits for him
Bad for children yes, but realistic. I can't think of any sports team in the entire world in any and all sport that team talks are for fairies to smile and dance. I actually think the series will certainly not contain every f-bomb used in real life from every team talk.
I found the first episode very uneven. Lots of cringeworthy moments of arrogance, but the individual stories and the inside look was fun. I see Rassie is an executive producer, and there’s the same line of rugby as being the only functional thing in SA (false) pushed to an embarrassing degree. Not going to make any outsider like the Boks.
I'm a big Boks supporter but can't get myself to watch these shows. I prefer to just watch Rugby instead.
As a Saffa not too impressed. Hopefully it will get better. Maybe I expected more. Language a little questionable
Men willing to run through brick walls for the glory of their nation, if they can't use a little vloek woord then who can? Whatever it was it worked...we won and for that privilege Rassie can tell the world he is going to f them up.
