well when I played GDW traveller 1st ed. back in the early 90s we were playing mercenary adventures in the tradition of David Drake's Hammer Slammers. with some S.M> Stirling Draka series thrown in the mix , I believe the campaign was set in a sector in the Solomani rim where we played Imperium affiliated mercenaries fighting a expansionist Human supremacist martial power similiar to the Draka from S.M> stirling books.
I picked up the Bundle of Holding and am glad that I did. I'll be including some mercenary opposition now, and possibly some merc allies as well, in the Pirates of Drinax campaign. Thanks for this video.

A Merc game based in Gateway could be a lot of fun. With all the lower TL worlds out there a TL 12 unit of Mercs could be in high demand, and be very effective.
Page 9 labels the Julian Protectorate as the Zhodani Consolate.
