Goapel-good news of Christ -seeing the goodness of Christ and coming (believing) into him seeing his goodness is , what repentance and faith , his goodness makes you leave old life , and stay in his goodness. God bless you !
Oh man! The Whole Christ not in word form, but spoken! Wow, great! For those who haven't read the book, buy it and read it! Rich teaching that will leave you better than you found it.
Thank you for this! I prayed for regeneration as a young Christian and it never happened until later in life when I put more effort into repentance. Praise God!
It seems to me that you have missed the point of the talk. Repentance cannot lead to regeneration. It is a fruit of regeneration. Maybe listen carefully once more…
It’s not our effort It’s by Grace- We Believe! The LORD IMPUTES His Grace & His Holy Spirit Regenerates us. Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Total dishonest false teacher cult leader wannabe. Hahahah desperate to sow lies and pick off the weak. Those are opposites. Repentance is turning from sin. Regeneration is a work of God in the positive. True Repentance only comes from turning from false idols. You have obviously never been regenerated.😢
Repentance is a result of faith, as faith precedes repentance in the 'chain of justification'. Meanwhile, thinking that you can add to your justification or that justification is a result of your repentance poisons the waters rather than to obtain the pure water of the gospel. Ultimately, repentance and faith are merely outward outcomes of our justification! Amazing grace indeed! Amen! Hallelujah!
Hands down Ferguson has clearer understanding of faith & repentance, therefore the Gospel, than any modern preacher (known by media) in my time. Walter Marshall, Edward Fisher, The Marrow Men, John Calvin all taught it correctly, so too with Sinclair Ferguson.
The greek word for repentance is metanoia. It means to change one's mind. You realize that you don't know how to best manage your own life and you go to your Father for guidance. He will never lead you to destroy yourself, your finances, your health, or someone else. You have to sit with Him and He will teach you. He will point out all of your errors as well so be ready for that. It can be a brutal process. Often, we run to God and like a child and scream "Why?" "This is not fair!" Thats when He gives us "the look". Sometimes, things truly aren't fair. Thats when God does his best work if you are willing to wait and trust.
soundbit 3:14 "...repentance does not precede faith as a condition to coming to Christ." since we are baptized into Christ, repentance must precede baptism; and before repentance can be established, one must believe to know what is necessary to repent of; and the only way one can believe is hear the Gospel preached or read; and the working of the Holy Spirit together with the Word of God that produces faith. thus, preaching or reading the Word of God produces faith, faith produces belief, belief produce repentance, repentance produces the confession of faith before baptism; and baptism produces the christian to work out his salvation with fear and tremblings before the LORD.
If you have seen me you have seen the Father. As I contemplate the beauty of thr Father by looking at the incarnate Son, I find it impossible to accept limited atonement because it diminishes the character of the God who is Love.
As a 1689 Protestant, I prefer to call it “completed atonement”. What I mean by that is that, each and every single person whom God desires to save will be saved. “He who sees Me has seen the Father” is a way of Jesus proclaiming His deity.

In all my life, I haven't come across this topic explained with such clarity. Hats off to the speaker.

but what after our justification? are we not encourage by paul to work out our salvation with fear and tremblings as sinclair is suggesting also!

@patrickc3419 So the only thing we diverge on is the breadth of God's desire and his good purpose in creating Mankind. Grace and Peace.

So true repentance comes FROM regeneration it does not cause it. Great job great reminder 👍
