Vargas isn’t starting because the dodgers have invested too much time in Lux. And James is a MUCH better defensive player than Vargas. Especially in the the outfield.
Right handed starter for the Brewers, so they went with Outman a lefty hitter.

Nice series win for the Dodgers. REALLY glad to see Outman back up from AAA OKC and bringing his warmed-up bat with him. Quite a few Dodger homers on here wanted him off this team due to his unexpectedly slow start this season, but I knew better than to give up on a young hard-working homegrown talent like him. Besides, WE NEED HIS GLOVE IN CF FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD (lol)! As for what Vargas did today, I would've felt better if Roberts had just let him start over Pages instead of bringing him in as a pinch-hitter late. HR proved he's coming into his own right now and regular playing time is a MUST for him at this point. Solid outing from Paxton, but pulling him out an inning earlier than expected nearly backfired on Roberts. Oh, and Chris Taylor's in the hot seat for sure right now. Failing to sacrifice runners over with nobody out means Kody Hoese down at AAA might soon get a crack at 3B with Muncy still rehabbing his oblique. That said, good shot at a sweep tomorrow with that Wrobleski kid making his official big-league debut. GO DODGERS!!!
