Crowds in Japan were and are still under heavy restrictions. In a recent concert from another band (Nemophila) also had the crowd with the same restrictions, the crowds cant sing or cheer, they are mostly only allowed to clap. Not ideal but hey, still better than having no shows at all. 🤘🙂🎸

I'm so glad you gave these ladies a second chance. This happens be my favorite song of theirs. Loved the reaction. "Swan Song" is a popular request because it best showcases Miyako's concert level piano skill. If you like the acoustic guitar/piano combo, I'd recommend "Epilogue". "Empty Daydream" also has a lot of dynamics, and you hear the girls harmonize vocally a bit. Which ever one you choose next, I look forward to it.

Frozen Serenade is an amazing song. this video was taken from the Heavy Metal Never Dies Bluray/DVD witch i have and the whole set was just amazing and breath takingly good and just non stop fire, literally fire with the song Set The World On Fire. i highly recommend Swan Song + Chopin Intro from the 2020 Five Of A Kind. I actually missed your first reaction, but appreciate your coming back to give them another shot. This is for sure a completely different beast. Here is an intro I usually drop on first reactions to Lovebites, with more links:
Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out:
Their most recently posted live clips, “Set the World on Fire” ua-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/v-deo.html and “Don’t Bite the Dust” ua-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/v-deo.html, which are both from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: ua-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/v-deo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
    Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: ua-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/v-deo.html;
    “Holy War”: ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html
Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: ua-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/v-deo.html; but if it is taken down, you can watch two clips back to back: ua-cam.com/video/hDBjiQI9cyc/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/uEsEWISc8Q0/v-deo.html I promise, it’s worth it.
For a thrasher with heavy Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” ua-cam.com/video/G021aP2ao6Y/v-deo.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ua-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/v-deo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

🐺Thanks for another honest Reaction. Lovebites have lot of different styles, Heavy Metal, Power Metal, Metal, Hard Rock, Rock and Metal ballads . . . Samurai, dude - sounds like you have been seriously Lovebitten. There is much more to come. Not familiar with your channel yet (subbed though), but you've reacted to Band Maid - great Hard Rock band. If you hang around J-Metal for just a bit you will hear some of the most amazing music you've never imagined. Based on this Reaction Swan Song would be a good followup. If you want to go hard and heavy try Break the Wall. But I realize you can't just react to Lovebites, so here's a variety to choose from: Unlucky Morpheus (symphonic Speed Metal - with a Metal violin prodigy), Gacharic Spin (all female Funky Jazz Metal with some growls), Galneryus (Japanese Dream Theater), Maximum The Hormone - aka MTH (Heavy Metal Chaos - with a touch of System of a Down), Nemophila (all female - with growls), Doll$Boxx (collab of Fuki, lead singer of Unlucky Morpheus with Gacharic Spin) If you start down that wormhole I'll notice and feed you some more. :0) ~ WolfPack 🐺

She has played classical piano since the age of three and started to learn to play the guitar when she was eighteen. She is now thirty-one and the mother of a six month old child. She was 4-5 months pregnant when this conceet was recorded.

LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics:
Crystal tears Falling from the skies
    Veiling fears The emptiness inside
    Time is just passing by
Killing me under the soft twilight
    A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
    A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
    One life ends
    And one life begins
    Evanesce
    To our origins
When I'm lost on my way
Lead my heart and guide me with your grace
    A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
    A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
Just like a dream, just like a bird
    I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away
All living things are precious and irreplaceable
Just like a dream, just like a bird
    I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky
If only I could wish to see you once more

general rule I give when looking into a new band is 3 songs/videos. If something hasn't caught my attention by then, it's unlikely it will. Some do it from jump, but others you think do (Jinjer with Pisces, but I haven't really loved their other stuff as much, for instance), but it also gives a feel for their overall style.
Lovebites leans primarily to Power Metal, but are HEAVILY influenced by Classic Heavy Metal, and Thrash. If this rocked your socks, give Epilogue, Empty Daydreams and Edge of the World a shot. Or for a totally different feel than this or the first video, try Scream For Me or Don't Bite The Dust, which fit the 80s Iron Maiden or Judas Priest sort of vibe.
Great video, good honest reaction. Hope to see more. Lovebites and Band Maid were largely what has gotten me through the Pandemic this long. Another great Rock Band to try, is the Warning, from Mexico, if you haven't, yet. Will have to give your channel a deeper look. Cheers, mate!

Great tone (Bare Knuckle pickups) and a superb playing feel... Nice reaction. As much as I like Glory to the World/this band, I also wish they would make even more songs in the vein of this and less DragonForce-y stuff from now on. I assume it's sometimes a bit hard to strike a balance when your guitarists are crazy shredders, but they surely can do it. I hope to see more variation in general from them. Maybe even more proggier stuff. Lovebites aren't for everyone. And I have no problem respecting that as long as people acknowledge their skills, at least. But they are hard to beat in their niche. Glory to the World is still one of the best power metal songs of recent times in my opinion.

This must feel like playing in slow motion for them however they should consider slotting more of the same into their repertoire as it illustrates the depth of their talent and provides a great platform to for when they launch into the normal high speed craziness. They should study some of the classic progressive bands with their transitions and weave that into their classic metal the result can be phenomenal as this shows.

There's also extremely heavy metal pieces too. There's one where the guitar duel between Midori and Miyako that will blow your socks off. I didn't see your first reaction on "glory to the world" but it's understandable that you didn't have a good vibe on this track. Because even I needed a lot of listening to appreciate it at its true value. Music is a matter of taste. There are many Lovebites tracks that are much better than this one for my taste. There are some phenomenal tracks that you may not cover because they don't have videos. But what I can tell you is that Lovebites plays different types of metal and it is always musically top notch. I wish you to continue your exploration of this band, because I myself have deduced, according to my personal musical taste, after having heard their entire discography that there is no band, past or present, that can compete with their musical beauty.

Lovebites is one of those rare bands that are much better experienced live. The exception are their Live Studio performances which are not recorded, cut, and spliced into an over produced music video. So their Live Studio songs are also great and you get to see them as if you were in the middle of one of their jam sessions and see how they look out of stage costumes.
