I think most are in awe of the piano work that they forget Haruna on drums. She is insane and non-stop the entire song! Her stamina / speed is top notch, one of the best in the business if not the best, oh and she's 4'9". 🙂 Nice react!
The Chopin intro is known as the revolutionary etude. Chopin wrote it after hearing Poland (his country) lost in a revolution against Russia. when he got to Paris he wrote it Swan Song honors those who died in battle Miyako composed it and Asami wrote the lyrics.

For Swan Song, Miyako combined two of her favorite classics: Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude and Dvorak’s New World Symphony. And about your remarks about fitting guitars for a certain genre, Miyako picks a guitar that fits the song, Usually she plays one of her Dean’s, mostly the modified Dean Icon like in this song or her signature Miyako Dean Flying V or for songs in dropped D she plays her Dean ML Switchblade, for songs with melodic solos she often uses a Gibson Les Paul or Gibson Explorer. She has also a self-build Telecaster and a Infinite Stratocaster. For composing songs, Miyako also uses a Warwick bass.
Yes, Miho's bass is ESP with a "Jazz" body style. She is a fan of Steve Harris who plays a Precision, iirc. Maybe the Jazz contours suit her play better. Speaking of Telecaster, Miyako uses a custom kit she got & built with her tech & has tele body style, on the song "Dancing With The Devil" from same Five of a Kind show. Best sounding tele I've ever heard! (no twang!) ua-cam.com/video/mJGgLFTPME8/v-deo.html Midori's guitar on this song is also custom, built by her at ESP's Guitar Craft Academy with the help of the students there.
Damn that Tele does sound good! 🔥 Also something about this song feels like a mixture between Deep Purple & Van Halen lol very dope. Much different than the other songs I've heard from them
@@samuraikaito yes, you will find that they do not stay in one genre, though most all have a metal-edge to them. They have 50 songs, and in 2 years I have not given each one the attention they deserve, comprehending the detail in the structures/arrangements which I think is one of their many strengths. Good reaction. Yes, the piano is a digital grand piano. Miyako confessed in an interview, she loved how it looked in white matching with their costume but also felt some difference in touch. Miho mainly uses ESP but also Jazz Base. Tricky one is Miyako, she uses mainly three Deans but rarely uses Stratocaster and Telecaster but they are not genuine. Those are built with parts gathered from market. Oh, by the way, Revolutionary Etude is known for its difficulty to play.
Interesting. I've heard that from other pianists as well but do you know what made her go with the digital? I know they have acoustic white pianos. My only guess is perhaps they programmed the keys via midi to play during the parts where she has to play the guitar?
With her closed!!! Miyako is wonder to behold. Now you know how she does what she does on the guitar. She treats the guitar like the piano. Who BTW Miyako taught herself to play, never had a lesson. Miyako breaks out the Les Paul in a couple of songs.
Thanks for coming back to Lovebites, and for not trying to pretend you know more than you do. You actually got the pronunciation of "Chopin" closer than most reactors! So, for background: Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the greatest classical composers of all time. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now one of the best metal guitarists in the world. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor).
I wouldn't be too hard on people for their pronunciation of Chopin. Actually the pronunciation that you mentioned (show-pan) whilst the most commonly used is not in fact correct. Chopin lived for the majority of his adult life in France and the French have sort of claimed him culturally by having his name pronounced in French.... i.e Show-pan. He is however Polish as you rightly mentioned and the correct Polish pronunciation is closer to Show-pin with a slightly harsher tone to the sh as in sch. Also the French emphasis on the second syllable .... show-PAN is not the same in Polish and it is more equivalent to SHOW-pin.
Thanks Hiawatha! That's crazy that she has enough talent to be either a classical pianist or a heavy metal guitarist haha. Also, I appreciate the lesson on the pronunciation 😅

Your reaction to A Frozen Serenade is one of my favourite reactions, so it's glad to see you back with my joint favourite band.

LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus

That's dope man I appreciate all the info! Cool to know that there was another classical influence in there

Edge Of the World , breaks some metal rulestoo. Aesome , as usual for them.
That's been a big request so that might be the next one 😎

Oh, by the way, Revolutionary Etude is known for its difficulty to play.
You forgot Miyako's Gibson collection. Two les Paul, a Explorer Antique and a límited edition of an a Gibson Futura.
Miyako also has a "strat" style guitar built by Infinite (in Osaka). Great instruments...I have one, as well.

@@michaelafrancis1361 you are right, of course. The mistake most people make (especially Americans) is to say CHOP-in.
