Something everyone misses, me included, is that each guitarist got their time on “The Throne” but it doesnt quite hit you till you see Vai on it. Definitely a whole different vibe seeing him on that chair though….give me chills.
@Soyel i know that Tim is the Face of Polyphia and the Spokesman kind of but after like 6 years of Polyphia it needed to be Said that they are on the same Level as Players
I have to say, as a new fan and someone who found them on my own, I didn't know Tim was such a big deal when I viewed their work from afar. The Clay holds the band together, and Scott does alot of what Tim does in the videos. Just an opinion.
Vai has a finger shifting technique that does make it sound like it's double tracking, that's what you heard when he came in.... After that he's playing was very complementing to the song, not overshadowing the boys, just adding his style. Awesome track
@@sailen7298 Watch the Zoom call w/ Polyphia chatting with Vai. He talks about it - he does a number of things and double tracking is one...he then learned to do it later on his guitar for the video.
The song structure is abababc The main riff motif is A) They all have a nuance change to what they play... Following the chord structure while reiterating riff componants. The soft part is B) This is their soloist expression. Still following the chord structure. By expressing their own preferences. C: begins with vais second solo The chord structure adjusts and all instruments merge sonically up until they all drop for the trumpet outro. 😊
If you love the emotion on Scotty's solo - You have to listen to their first 2 LP's 1) Muse & 2) Renaissance. The songs are all made of the melodic feeling style in so many creative ways. This solo was a blast back to the past.
Great reaction! I like seeing all the members having their moment in the song where they can be featured because they are all such great musicians! I think they have gotten better! It’s everything. Their playing skills and how the songs are being designed. I think this is a great place for them to land. I love their other music but some of it Is not something you can listen to over and over doing just about anything. Driving, work around the house or what ever. I have already listened to: Playing God and Ego Death more than all their music combined. And, I am a huge fan. G.O.A.T. Was my introduction and hooked me. The OD, Nasty, Goose. So many good ones. But this new stuff is just next level stuff. It’s music I can jam to while still containing who they are. It’s just incredible. I have listened to this song 20 times today and it’s only 11:30 A.M. atm. Tim probably doesn’t want to hear my description but I don’t know how else to say it. It’s like ear candy. All the crazy technical stuff (which is so tasty) on top of a groovy kind of melody that you can just listen to over and over. The thumping, finger tapping, ghost and harmonic notes. Their songs have a lot of texture. It’s all out in a blender but executed in an amazing way. It’s ridiculous. They are my favorite band. Tasty!
As someone who's listened to Polyphia for a long time. I thought the same thing when New Levels New Devils came out. It took time but it grew on me I don't like my favorite bands changing too drastically but Polyphia seems to find a way to change and evolve but keep their spirit and get better.
This song, felt like it was Scotty's song rather than Tim's and I loved every second of it! Polyphia is truly an amazing band with immense individual talents. I am glad they all came together to form Polyphia. Pure eargasm!
really appreciate the after watch comments and thoughts about the music and all that. most other reactors are just "woah", "wow" or some phrases here and there.
Great reactions and breakdowns. On Vai's solo, he is not double tracking, but he is doing a technique called 'joint shifting' that he invented. It's essentially bending 2 strings at the same time often in different directions getting 2 bent tones at the same time. Love your energy. Subbed ☮
imagine being like a huge brasstracks fan and having not seen that he features on the unreleased first song of the album. i would lose my shit at the end of the song if that was me since he doesnt explicitly feature on ego death
@@samuraikaito Yeah I'm wondering if it was just a generated synth sound or the a sample of the ping from Hunt For Red October. If it IS that sample, I think I might lose my mind.
Please react to their song Nightmare, it's one of polyphia's best songs and add The Great Calamity (Chalenger Deep) to your reaction list please ... I think you'll like it

I realized that before actually
I love how Scotty was showcased. His playing deserves credit on par with Tim, and he smashed this song.
Completely agree! He went crazy on this
@Jordan Larson
FINALLY Someone said Tim and Scott are on par. I thought i was the Only One thinking that.
@Soyel
i know that Tim is the Face of Polyphia and the Spokesman kind of but after like 6 years of Polyphia it needed to be Said that they are on the same Level as Players

Oh Sorry i didnt know all these things You just mentioned. And Yes i know that Every Person in the Group is extremeöy skilled.

I NEVER Get Enough of that Solo that Scott does with that Metal Guitar i mean the first One.
Exactly! it was so tasty! makes you to the stank face lmao
Compositionally tim really is finding a way to write these songs with a more distinctive melody for people to follow without losing their dna.
It couldn’t have been said any better! That’s why I think these new songs are such bangers! You nailed it Jordan!

Aint double tracking at all

Honestly this is the best reaction to any song I’ve seen so far
Thank you 🙌🏽
The trumpet guy at the end, he's from Brasstracks and i think it's cliffhanger for next song. If those 2 bands will collab, bruh.. :D
There is a collab with brasstracks on the track list for this album.
dude that's amazing if it continues on into another song. I'd lose my mindddd
@@duhduh14 this is the last song on the album, but since the first song features brasstracks, it could flow pretty well back to the beginning

God i Love the drumming sooo muuch in This Song

I like this collab a lot, but the second half with Vai is the bomb!

Bro how amazing it must have felt to play back to back to back with three guitar gods
Scottie’s guitar shaped is called the Flying V!
Nah bro his guitar is X shaped. I looked it up and Ibanez has a couple of those models
@@samuraikaito yep. Ibanez Xiphos
Even in the Hirachy of Top Polyphia Song This Will Remain on Top for a Year i guess.

Appreciate it!!

I would love to hear a Polyphia / Jeff Beck colab.
Never thought of that but that would be very interesting
It wasnt double tracked, that's his finger shifting style. On finger bends how and a second bends while the first returns to original note.
God x God
That sound effect you look liked sounded a lot like a submarine ping
True I didn't even think of that

the sog was a truly polyphia
Why does everyone miss the "throne" is used for the solo....
Not just for Steve
I wonder if the trumpet player is new member of the band?
He's from Brasstracks, amazing band
imagine being the brasstracks guy reacting to all of these videos "who?" lmao
Where did u get that shirt bro???? I have been searching for a long time for this particular fade and color
honestly got it from Spencer's. It somehow got this faded vintage look over the years which I really like
