no matter what I do, the WAN light on my router stays red and it just won't connect. If I set it up as a repeater it works just fine, but it simply doesn't work via the WAN cable. My model is the ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000.

Good day Sir, After reviewing many of your videos and planing on taking your advise for the connection of two routers I plan (already ordered and awaiting arrival) to purchase a Asus-RT-N12+ N300 because its possible to run it as a VPN client and the fact that it seems you highly recommend the Asus brand router and use them exclusively in your videos. my question is will the ASUS RT-N12+ N300 support wisp? I will be connecting it to a TP-Link Wireless N Router WR840N Model No. TL-WR840N.
How can I do if device from ISP is all in one (modem+router) . It's not only a modem but also a router. 😢
You can disable the Wireless network on your ISP's device and connect the Asus router with am ethernet cable to a Lan port on the ISP's device and to the Wan port on the Asus router

Thanks to your video, router set up was easy. Router ethernet cable connected to IS provider. Wifi analyzer not working because it is asking for an adapter. Is the adapter an additional item I need to purchase? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have for 3 years an ASUS RT-88U, that is located at only 3 feet from my head, and I couldn't find how to stop the "WIFI'' running when I am alone (most of the time) in my house, because of the danger of the WIFi. May I please ask you to show me how to configure it so my main PC be running only on one of the "ethernet" connection available . My PC is connected on the "ethernet" connection but it still run only on the wifi connection (if I turn-off the wireless connection option I loose my internet).. The "ElectroSmart" software telles me I am at 77-80/100 exposure level" all the time.

On your router's admin page, click on Wireless, then click on the Professional Tab, choose the band (2.4 or 5) and then for each band, select No under Enable Radio
Mine just constantly tells me to connect the cable to the wan port despite being connected to the WAN port. I think I might have faulty hardware in the router

I just purchased this router, not realizing that I probably can't install it. I don't have a computer with ports (I have a MacBook Air) and I don't get cellular reception in the river valley where I live. What do I do?

Before I reset my router, there was internet but I reset it as my mesh node was not working. So now while resetting everything went well except after finish setting up, my browser says “please wait for internet reconnecting”. I tried to change Ethernet cable, turned off modem and router and everything but still same error. Any idea why there’s still no internet? Should I call my ISP?
It depends on how you connect to your ISP (DHCP, Static IP, User/Pass,...). Call them so to get the information.

Thank you. You can change both the SSID' passwords and the login password from within the admin page of the router.

Recently found your channel. Very informative. I'm replacing an old Cisco router with the ASUS RT86U. You mentioned in the video that if you don't know the old routers name and password, just hit the reset button. Does that mean if I don't hit the reset button, the new router will automatically use the old routers id and password, or will I still need to enter it manually? Thanks in advance for your help.

Why did the ASUS router program allow users to upload their pictures of devices a year ago now it doesn't?! The "pictures" they include for devices are lame as hell and usually confusing.
The website is asking me to login even though the asus router is new. What do I do?
Reset the router. It has a reset button on the back, hold it for 5 seconds while the router is turned on and then release it.
I don't understand why you need a second router to set up a router?
People use second routers for VPN use with their IoT devices (i.e. Security cameras, smart lights, smart switches, smart refrigerators, etc.).
