VACUUM PUMP RE-SEAL ON VW JETTA MK6

I am running an experiment seeing how effective it is to replace just the big rubber seal of the pump's cover plate, Vs replacing the entire vacuum pump. I will update in the comments below as I check it every so often so if it fails you folks will know the moment I find out.

Extremely helpful video, thank you! I just replaced the oil pan then realized I should have done this first. Stupid question: is it advised to drain the oil before this project?

Not a stupid question at all! And no, you do not need to change the oil for this.

Yes it did! It got much better, but still leaked. The rest coming from either the metal gasket against the head or the vacuum port, or both. So i there will be a vacuum pump replacement video soon
