I feel like anyone who can follow this tutorial wouldn't need it and anyone who would need this tutorial won't be able to understand it. There's so much technical jargon in here that as a beginner, the entire thing went over my head.
Great Tutorial. That's exactly what I wanted to know in order to create a pattern for dolls. Thanks very much. By the way, a very pleasant voice to listen to 😘
Wow you are a great sewing teacher. Whilst I have minimal sewing skills and have not made an item of clothing in years I feel I could make this despite the not being. A large enough pattern
Thank you so much for showing the fabric! I was worried it would be to stiff but it looks breathable and flexible :) I bought this fabric in a cow print💕 gonna make a Skort
I appreciate the tutorial but please include more closeups in future videos. I’ve been using the blog post but the pictures are very blurry when I try to zoom in to see the stitching. I was hoping the video would help but there aren’t enough closeups there either. I’ve been sewing for years and am not a beginner but have never made a denim skirt before.
Hurrah! So glad to stumble across this. I've been wanting to make a denim skirt, but all the patterns I find are just not "right" for what I want. I'm not good at hacking patterns, and now I don't have to try, because you've included all the bits I wanted!
I love the design and finally had time to saw a skirt. But took me too long. I wish the tutorial has more details and clear directions for us that are not pros. Although I followed directions, the back pockets came too low, waist line also wasn't finished properly, for the zipper I wish I made it smaller... At the end I had to improvise, but still can wear it.
the tutorial is very easy to follow so far. but i only wish some steps would be a little more detailed on how to assemble some parts. like the yoke for example, i wish it was mentioned that the small ends went towards the side seams. i got to pretty much the end and realized i did it wrong by looking at a pair of shorts i had next to me.
Hola, Gracias, aunque. No entiendo mucho inglés. El patrón, lo baje y se repiten dos partes iguales, le falta una parte. Gracias y muchas Bendiciones 🙏🥰
Hi! I am ready to start in my skirt now that I have the pattern tapes and cut out but I have a few questions. Did you fold your fabric wrong sides together before cutting? Also, what are you slicing at about 58 seconds into the video?? It looks like its the pocket lining but I see no where on the pattern where it says to slice or hoe to piece the pocket lining to the front to the front pocket backing. Sorry for all the questions 😇 Are there any hand written instructions for a beginner like me?
WOW it is so ironic that this video was posted on my day of birth 4/13. I have been wanting to do this version of a skirt with pockets, front and back, fly front and all. I will make it maxi length though. I have made another skirt like this but no back pockets.😢

Love this! Thank you so much for providing a free pattern. I love a denim skirt with a fly front and pockets.
Absolutely! Glad you like it, Lydia.
Yay! Thanks for the tutorial. I have been longing for a nice white denim like skirt for the longest but can't find one. This is perfect 🥰

Just what I was looking for. Thanks.

OMG that fabric is everything. I dress my baby girl in yellow mostly too, I can not get her in a skirt though LOL
Lovely!!! Just what I needed!

I made this skirt today followed all the steps hips came out perfect in sizing but the waist came out 6 in larger....
What did you do for fraying on the cut you made for the button?
Hey how do I put the pattern together
I’m confused on how u did the fly part 😅 to get it to open like that
I had to unpick mine three times hahah

How funny, because the blog post that goes with the pattern was posted 2 days earlier on April 11th, which is MY birthday!
Perfect tutorial, where can i get that metal grey thing where you measured the pockets with?
That's a Dritz Ezy Hem, you can grab one at any fabric store (Amazon has them, as well). We love ours!
a-line ?
Hi are the sizes us or U.K. Sizes?
Hey Christina! The patten uses U.S. sizing.
The unnecessary and very annoying background music made this otherwise great video almost unbearable.
