I just bought MFT mags today. I bought two different models. The model II failed horribly. I test loaded it with 20 rounds and on round 13 the feeder got caught on a piece of rough plastic from the molding when it was made. In a self defense situation, this would be a deadly malfunction. I'll be returning the magazine and showing them in person the issue.

I ripped out a second magazine and it only objected half of its contents out fortunately the next magazine was just your standard military aluminum magazine and it worked just fine. People can say there is now a new and improved mft magazine but I'm sorry that ship has sailed with me I'm done with them I had several of the gen-one mft magazines new in the rap and I gave them all away and I warned the people that I gave them to of the danger

I bought an ar that came with a mft mag and the spring is catching about the third of the way up so 10 rounds is loosey goosey. I'll turn it upside down and theyll all fall out due to no tension holding them to the top. I'll beat it on the table sometimes it'll spring all the way up sometimes it won't. Either way when I go to reload it and shoot it, it still does it at the same point (and pushing down on the top plate with my finger to try to get it unstuck doesn't work) Very annoying so going to buy some Magpul p mags and call it a day

I haven't experienced any of these issues, because I have a few of the Extreme Duty mags. HOWEVER, I have experienced an issue with one of my Extreme Duty mags that I consider to be a critical failure: the base plate and follower did not interface with each other properly, and it caused 5 or 6 small jams through 30 rounds. I examined it, carved one of the baseplate holes open a little, and it helped the two surfaces have a more positive mating face. Even with that, I kept it unloaded and put it back on a shelf. I expect 100% capability every time I insert a magazine into my carbine/rifle, and you should too. MFT makes some great stuff, but I don't think magazines are part of that.

You are correct, the MFT mag shown in this video is unfit.
MFT knows that, and released the MOD II magazine. I have no idea what the difference is, but I can tell you that my MOD II (bought this morning) is comparable to my Magpul Gen II Pmag's.
With just an empty outer (baseplate, spring, & follower removed), the side to side squeeze comparison is identical to my Gen II Pmag's, however when sqeezed front to back, my MFT MOD II has no perceivable movement where my Gen II Pmag's actually bow outward by over 1/8 inch. The squeeze testing was conducted using my weaker left hand. MOD II is also only 119 grams vs 145 grams for the Gen II Pmag.
No idea how heat might affect the MOD II vs the Gen II & no plans to find out currently, but heat will affect ALL polymer mags in one way or another. Only negative is the lack of a mag cap for the MFT.

These magazines are not advertised as Duty mags at all...I have a few of them and nothing on the packaging suggested they be used for duty. MFT makes heavy "Duty Use" magazines that clearly state so on the package. I've not had a single issue with either one. Cheap ones are great range mags...exactly what they're advertised to be. The duty mags are tough, don't eject rounds, and feed excellently. In fact, I've never experienced a malfunction with the MFT duty mags. I HAVE had malfunctions with my Gen 3 Pmags...

Yep. I bought a few last year and just today took them to the range. One ended up with a broken feed lip! Garbage!
