Spoke with MFT via email, and they admitted to a manufacturing run out of spec. I bought one and have it loaded with 30 rounds. I will monitor it over the next while, as I rarely get the opportunity to actually go shoot. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt - and wit a lifetime warranty, I have nothing to lose. I am pulling for them. Mags over $10 seem to be too expensive- even though I own 3 Pmags. The rest of mine are aluminum mags from different manufacturers.

I picked up a couple last week. Took them to the range today along with my normal pmags. Chambered fine, fire, failure to feed. Clear. Chamber. Failure to feed. Happened with both mags. Pmags ran flawless as usual. Only thing I could think is the temp. 22° with 15 mile an hour winds. I will try them again and see if it continues.

The reason they hold 31 is because if you load 30 like normal you can insert into your platform on a closed bolt very easily. Not recommended to load 31. They call it a 30rnd mag for a reason with the added feature to change magazines on a closed bolt

  • @petesheppard1709

In 2022, MFT mags have a spacer that limits them to 20 rd. Look for '20/30' on the wrapper. While it's a pain to get the baseplate off, the spacer can be easily cut off the spring guide, for the full 30 rd capacity.

Call me old school, but for reliability in a life and death situation I will stick with my NHMTG aluminum magazines. Bought a few of them a few years ago. As far as I know, you can no longer get the NHMTG magazines. These polymer mags would be alright for the range or for plinking, but I’m not sure if I would trust them with my life. I might trust my life with Pmags, but not these.

31 .223 rounds despite being listed as a 30 rnd mag... interesting. I wonder if that's cause theyre are also 300 Blackout rated? if thats the case then maybe 31, .223 capacity makes room for the larger, 30 rounds of 300 BO? I don't know and haven't tested it but I'll take that as a good sign that the marketing lanuage on the plastic bag that it comes in isn't just gibberish. Maybe this IS one of those contemporary mags that was truly designed to properly feed multi calibers into a milspec AR, including 300 BO. I hope so. that's why I bought this mag from my beloved Rural King as a trial. I just got my first 300BO gun not too long ago and need all around solid components to make it go bang every time. I got on UA-cam tonight to learn more and I think your discovery of the odd capacity answers ny questions about wether or not MFT is the truth.

Also when I have a magazine in my carry bag bullets fall out of it for some reason. That doesn't happen with my Lancer or Magpul magazines. If they work for some cool. But for basically the same price or a dollar or 2 more I'll get Magpul all day everyday. I'm probably going to throw mine away. I don't even want it as a spare honestly.

MFT MAGS DO NOT COMPARE TO MAGPULS WHAT SO EVER. Daniel defense mags, Lancer mags black (clear) or (smoked dark or light) are bad ass with metal feed lips. And that’s it. And then metal GI mags. Everything else can pretty much suck it. The Troy , hexmag and the mft are similar and OK but not on the level of DANIEL DEFENSE, LANCER, or MAGPUL. I would say Daniels are the best and hold a few extra rounds, then lancer and magpul. Period. If you say otherwise you’re a paid shill.
