As a Kid, I always liked the Prell logo on the bottle(late 70s/80s). The Jingles were good too(watch it pop up with prell, or something like that, prell puts the oooooo). And of course, the Ladies. I had a dream I wrote a Prell song when I was 5. It stuck with me for 16 yrs. I learned how to play the instruments & finally wrote the song/recorded it. Maybe one day, I'll post it.🤔

Those women had their hair roller set to get those bouncy curls. The shampoo itself didn't make their hair look that good.

In these ads you have some famous ladies back before they were famous, including: #3 - Lauren Hutton; #6 - Shelley Smith (the blonde); #8 - Nancy Allen; #9 - Erin Gray; #10 - Suzanne Somers. The brunette in #14 looks like Elaine Joyce, but I'm not sure if it's her.

The irony here is that while Lauren Hutton claims Prell leaves nothing behind, Prell was, in fact, one of the worst shampoos for residue. I tried Prell one time and my hair felt dirtier than before I'd washed it. That was the last time I ever used Prell. That full bottle landed in the trash and I went back to using Sauve.

This is a boatload of bullshit - PRELL Shampoo is just a Plain, Clean, Shampoo. And Shampoo has been blamed for hair loss for decades when it is Genetic although, certain additives such as herbal extracts can cause inflammation and ( Temporary) hair loss. WEN uses a number of oils and herbal extracts which can cause allergic reactions and inflammation which can cause excessive amounts of hair to fall out. It is the oils and extracts which cause the problem not the cleansing agents.

The ads sound like they're advertising Prell like it's laundry detergent, getting rid of all that dirt. The 60's and 70's had to be a dirtier time. Cars belched out more pollution, factories were spewing who-knows-what out of their smoke stacks, there was leaded gasoline, and so on. After just making a short trip to the supermarket, women came back home looking like they just spent all day working in a coal mine. Thank goodness there was Prell shampoo, to wash all that toxic stuff out of their hair.

That was one of P & G's problems with Prell--it was advertised like laundry detergent for your hair, which, as one of the first detergent-based shampoos on the market, it was. (I remember a Breck commercial that ran on "The Patty Duke Show" with a visual of a woman shampooing her hair with the sounds of a washing machine in the background--the point that Breck shampoo was "the only leading shampoo that isn't mostly detergent.")
