I’d actually argue the AK is more accessible building/parts wise as you can strip everything down to the barrel using common house tools and your hands whereas the AR needs specifically designed tools. Great video tho!
The Primary Weapons Systems UXR would be my first and only rifle since it’s actually both an AR and AK. However, it’s not CA compliant (yet). However, I might go w/ an AR first such as the S&W M&P 15 Sport 2.
The UXR would be sweet for a first gun! Just remember proprietary parts can be annoying at times but I have lots of proprietary guns. I enjoy the Smith rifles as well!
I should clarify... I live in a heavily wooded area in the southeast where AKs make more sense. If you want to shoot at something relatively far away get an AR. If you want to shoot through a bunch of stuff to hit something get an AK
Don't buy steel cased AK ammo there is no point. You can get brass for around the same price. Brass is still better in your AK plus you can reload if that is your thing.

Thanks for watching! My preference is AR but I do really love both!
Have several of both

@@m92quad55 yeah definitely. I’m just messing. I just built my first AR so I’m biased. It’s a 14.5 bcm & I love that thing.
I have both..ar + ak = galil is my go to rifle
Galil is a great combination of both
Best of both worlds would be A Galil Ace Gen 2
Always wanted an Ak but not since 7.62 ammo price has skyrocketed :/
I'm hopeful it'll go back down
AR does it all folks 😂just leave the lowers spec/oem for top swaps 556/762>300 anyday
AK !!

I agree in todays market. It used to be significantly cheaper than brass
Both 😂
That's the correct answer!
