I've been following Chace and the Edison team for a good while now, and they are truly the real deal. Just some good BC boys looking to make life easier for people who use trucks every day, that's all. The environmental benefits are a bonus, too, but at the end of the day it's about building a better mousetrap. More power, safer for the operator, better for the planet. There's no stopping these guys, despite the best efforts of shady BC politicians.
Chace messed up the grant application. He says so in his videos about the subject. Grant applications are NEVER given out to people who mess up the application process, regardless of how great their product is.
Amazing interview! Thank you for highlighting how messed up things have become for innovators and entrepreneurs in BC and even Canada at large. It's become evident the government doesn't actually care about helping clean energy startups and businesses that make sense for us economically AND environmentally. They just care about the money (and kickbacks).
Texas near Laredo would be my choice. The best corporate and no personal income tax with access to Monterrey MX booming manufacturing sector. Under NAFTA, you can source components on both sides of the border and export to Canada. If I were Edison, I would talk to Abbott and ask: "AZ came with an offer, what are the options for coming to TX?"
I had the unique opportunity to visit Canada the last 3 summers my sister was alive. I'll just plain tell you we need you here in the States but you are needed more where you are !! Your Town Council needs to get it's wires straight and get you a spot in your home town. I love the USA but I feel very good having you at my back. You're a good neighbor here or there
Amazing, that is the clear difference between Canadian & US business support. And he's right, it is gross. And it's one story after another of great business' faced with leaving Canada for greener pastures. Canada has a pathetic & disgusting business environment.
Back in '85... Waterloo Ont.... had an industrial park open up on Frobisher... 35k per acre... you had 3 years to build on it... or you had to give it back... I went residential instead... because that was a hotter market... but the city did it right... industrial buildings got built... big... and small...
Back in '63, my parents bought a 1/4 section (160 acres) in central Alberta from the Crown at a public auction and paid $11.75/acre. Since Canada still has unbelievable amounts of Crown land that is not being utilized, why doesn't the public have access to it? If anyone is interested in a piece of vacant Crown land, it should be put up for public auction. When more land is made available, there will be be far fewer speculators driving the prices out of reach.
The NDP provincial government has always been for taxing small business and making their lives as miserable as possible. Now for pro union firms they get handed a large share of any government funded work and small or private firms are shut out. Small business employees around 43% of workers in the province and are treated like a tax funding base for all of the NDP’s ridiculous policies that drag the economy down further yet. The land competition is "Land Bankers" - not viable business interests.... So, the gas guzzling trucks and SUVs get bigger and bigger perfectly meeting the EPA requirements saving the environment one mpg at a time. Gross.
The government should be behind retrofitting existing trucks to electric more than buying new. Or do they need to relearn "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle"? The carbon foot print of a truck thats already built vs new alone makes it make sense.

Let me retrofit my 1999 Corolla for a reasonable price and subsidy, and perhaps the future wouldn't seem so bleak. An EV is not a reasonable expense for many struggling Canadians. Adding more debt to a nation overwhelmed by rising costs and inflation is foolish.

Go, run, Get out or here while you can.
Sad, but true.
Wow I can't even believe that a news Outlet did this interview with this fine young man. I'm shocked stunned this this is a fabulous Canadian when I seen him it's the first hope I felt in a long time in this country
Great innovation Chace hybrid electric no charging station required 👍
chace, if you pull this off, you've struck gold.
Your ideas are revolutionary, keep up the good work !!!! I need a hat !!!!
This only shows, all the legislation and taxation is not about helping the environment
Come to Alberta
Born and bred from BC, it is the best place on earth and I'm holding on as tight as I can, but if this government doesn't change this October I'm gonna be looking elsewhere. It has reached peak insanity, so please lower mainland do the right thing come elections
Van Isle is a big problem..... bunch of NDP nutjobs
Elections are not decided by the voters, they are decided by those who count the votes.
Plz don’t leave us, we support you!
We do, but the ndp don't
The people do, those who "represent" the people don't (unless they get their kickbacks).
Finally… something like diesel / electric mining haul trucks…but better. Really good job.
Amazing human eh!

You guys should setup headquarters in Texas,
I imagine expanding is inevitable and any expansion won't be very economical in Canada
I would love for Edison to make trucks so that one day I could own a truck made from commonly found parts. I would a "f150" or "Ram 1500"-style truck from them. CANADA BUILT!!
Stay Canadian. Not the same, but I would invest. Great work. Great integrity 💖
He just needs to hold on for ~2 more years until a new government can get elected; one more business-friendly and less WEF socialist.
I hope Edison Motors scales-down their operations for passenger vehicles someday SOON. Many of us would love to retrofit their cars.
In a previous video of his about a month ago Edison motors is developing retrofit kits for Superduty trucks F350, Chevy or Dodge 3500.
