Yes I agree. The lake is definitely plentiful with fish, especially pike, bass, and panfish. What's your biggest fish from black lake? In this video we stayed at Rogers Camps.
@@TroneZoneFishing Smallmouth in the 2-3 lbs range every once in a while you stick 4 or 5 lb north end of the lake Largemouth same thing . and pike all over
Do you fish Black Lake often? My wife and I have gone there for quite a few years for our annual fishing trip for bass and oike. We always release all out fish. We always did well except for the last 3 years have been terrible. Is it just bad luck or have you found the fishing there has gone down hill? I just discovered your videos last night and have really enjoyed them. You seem to be doing very well on Black Lake. Are your videos there been done recently? We usually go the second week of July do you have any advice? Thanks
Thank you for watching, and I am glad that you enjoy them. It means a lot. I started fishing Black Lake as a teenager on our annual trip. I honestly don't fish it that much. These 2 videos were from last year at the end of May. I've only fished the lake in May. I can only image the amount of grass growth in July. I'm guessing that the bigger pike would be on deep grass edges and might hit deep diving jerkbaits and crankbaits. Try the color orange. I hope you and your wife do well this year. Thanks again for watching.
I think the weather is a major factor. Needs to be relatively cool and overcast in my experience. The lake is shallow and that impacts how quickly the water heats up. Affecting how the fish behave. Lake level is another factor. I recommend a fish finder with depth and temperature readings to find the sweet spots. 3-12 ft is good for pike iirc. Lonesome Bay is a great place to go. I've gone in June for nearly a decade. Going for any fish (C&R mostly) and a good time. :) Last year was better than most since it was a cooler period. Other years were hot with little cloud cover.
What's your favorite lure for catching Pike?
I love black lake go there every year and always stay a rogers
Nice! I love it too. Did you go this year already? If so, how was the fishing for you?
