  • A suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho students more than six weeks ago has been arrested in Pennsylvania.
Arrest paperwork filed by Pennsylvania State Police in Monroe County Court says 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger was being held for extradition in a criminal homicide investigation based on an active arrest warrant for first-degree murder issued by the Moscow Police Department and Latah County Prosecutor’s Office.
The four students were all friends and members of the University of Idaho's Greek system. They were stabbed to death at a rental home near campus sometime in the early morning hours of Nov. 13.
Kohberger is listed on Washington State University's (WSU) Criminal Justice PhD program page. KREM 2 has reached out to WSU for comment but have not yet heard back.

The defender intentionally did not ask him whether he did it because he doesn't want to know. If the defender knows for a fact that he did it, the defender cannot lie and say he didn't. (Legally, lawyers aren't supposed to tell blatant lies in court, they could be disbarred). In order for the defender to say he did not do it, he's better off not asking directly and just looking at the evidence to see how he can argue innocence.

Been glued to this case from Day 1. It's also been an extremely interesting study on the current trend of "web sleuthing". In this climate of popular true crime media, everyone wanted to be an armchair detective. Some of the theories were absolutely wild. I watched so many individuals convince themselves with 100% certainty they cracked the case, with a suspect to point the finger at, name and shame. Of course, predictably they've all went completely silent now - proving that in the end they did very little more than obstruct the course of justice within the official investigation. Sure, some people uncovered tips, but those tips should remain just that; potential clues to be passed on to the official authorities. Again, it has proven to leave it to the professionals. Everyone was joining some pretty wild dots up, while I was aware that investigators were sifting through tons of forensic evidence, and keeping their findings close to their chest in order to preserve the purity of the investigation. It's ridiculous that people convicted others in their own mind, via using a computer screen, when they knew fine well that laboratories where running tests on DNA, prints and other physical evidence. That shows astounding arrogance. So sorry to see how many people found entertainment through these tragic deaths, while simultaneously putting extra pressure and stress on the lives of the authorities who worked hard on this case, while also sullying their names and the names of those they wrongly named and shamed online.

I believe the surviving roommates know way more than their alleged sleep story tells us. Yeah I can’t tell you enough how much I respect James fry. Many of us can’t think right off hand what makes us emotionally attached to this situation. These kids, that house and the murderer are an ensemble of many common Americans lives. Many people felt a familiarity and nostalgia towards several aspects of the case. For example, me I’m studying real estate, and have taken architecture classes, that house stood out to me, I pledged sigma chi, that stood out to me, I’ve watch many similar horror films and have been a film student myself and this one matched those horror movies, even the color of the house and it’s building style, many of the students reminded me of someone I met in college or when pledging the fraternity, and many of us can relate to our dreams and goals being disrupted and cut short by a malicious person or experience. The list goes on at how surreal the situation is, and you could easily detect the stirring emotions in the victims families, and the police and their desperation for information. I think everyone was on the same page which caused an unusual uptick in online sleuthing. I love how the police didn’t give up, and I’m curious as to how much evidence was Steve goncalves private investigator and attorney able to contribute to help identify a suspect. People knew deep down this was a serial killer on his first kill. That’s what scared everyone. This is terrorism. That small ass police department was like the police in the movies except they never became victims they only got better at being hero’s. They deserve an award from the president but I doubt he will do it. And take initiative to help improve peoples public perception of how police should approach things. Thanks again James fry for being a cinematic police officer. He took our criticism with a grain of salt and maintained public confidence.

I agree! Thinking back to the Uvalde shooter who had just turned 18yo, he was bullied as a kid. I recall him being teased for his clothing. It was very telling to me that when he decied to shoot up an elementary school he chose the one his grandmother use to work at (who he seemed to be having issues with given he shot her in the head), and also, his cholce to specifically shoot up mostly the 4th grade classes, which as it was revelaed later, was the grade level when the bullying began for him. I think something similar has occurred here as we have heard that BCK was bullied and turned down by girls in high school, he was socially awkward, and didn't fit in. Although this has not been confirmed by LE yet, it appears to be coming from valid sources. Although no amount of bullying, abuse, or neglect could ever excuse what the Uvalde shooter did - he should have sought out help instead, and the same goes for this guy, IF in fact they do have the right guy. Seems they do. I wish quality mental health help was more readily available to all people in the US. Mental illness is an epidemic.

@@michael-7240 yes I think they would know if he was “off” but it is a considerable leap, in my opinion, to go from having an awkward kid to having a kid that kills 4 people. And I guess my point is that you can’t force a college kid to continue therapy (not sure he went to a therapist or psychiatrist when he was in high school…) unless you do a 5150 which they may or may not have thought was necessary.
