@KateLicker This old guy claims the daughter told her father she thought it was him and yet the kohberger family says they have never spoken to the old guy who wrote this book or anybody else. He just needs more money for his retirement fund.
I'll wait for the evidence to be presented to a jury. I won't read the book, it has to be at least 50% speculation. Trying to cash in on someone else's tragedy doesn't sit well with me.
well, cashing in on tragedy would be able to be applied to what percentage of non-fiction books, if you wanted to view it that way? I mean, Christ, every true-crime book, every St Martin's True Crime Library genre paperback...I read a lot of those..
@LJE-B he 💯 guilty. Think about this he was seen by FBI agents the night he was arrested cleaning his car with bleach and was wearing latex gloves. Also he was seen putting his own trash into plastic bags and throwing them away in his next door neighbors trash can.
@seasonti8312 So he started to clean up his car after 5 weeks of the murder happened and all this after a long trip back in PA ? 😅 ...And who is the reliable source of that neighbor's trash bag story ? 🤔
Why not? What did this killer expect? This author could’ve come up with a truck-load of other ideas; he won’t be the first and surely he won’t be the last. Let’s say writing a book before a trial starts is a bad move but then again, the suspect is sitting there being slick. Until the unexpected comes knocking…
Normally an actual judge wouldn't have allowed it to take so long as to need to limit the very long process of writing, editing, printed and distributing a book.
Howard Blum should donate every penny to the victims whatever the outcome may be. There's far more greed and taking advantage around this case which should be unsettling to all.
Generally, I would say "no," but every defendant has the right to a speedy and public trial. If you waive that right, then you can't control the public filing in the gaps as time drags on. It's the risk you run by taking your time, particularly in a high-profile case.
In fact, defendants often stand mute at initial proceedings because a not guilty plea will be entered on their behalf automatically. It's a very common procedural move and it absolutely should never be interpreted as anything other than procedural formality. This was a really awful and irresponsible statement to make.
I’m a trial lawyer, this author is a quack. Delay as a trial tactic? No, the defense is clearly preparing to contest the DNA and this takes time. Someone else in the video said that “standing silent” was an indication of guilt. Clearly this person has not been in a courtroom before. 99.9% of defendants at arraignment stand mute.
There've already been 2 books published by UoI President Scott Green and Boise based PI J. Reuben Appleman, along with several documentaries (Dateline, Discovery, BBC, NewsNation etc.) containing similar unsubstantiated info from anon sources. Yet the prosecutor threw a fit and held an ex parte meeting with the judge to prevent the defense from conducting surveys to support a change of venue.
What? You couldn’t be more wrong. 99.9% of defendants enter a plea of not guilty or guilty accordingly. A standing silent plea is the rare exception. Man the internet is wild, people are so ignorant.
I'm not a lawyer. I'm a politician. Even I know that whether it's with the police or in court, a person should say NOTHING unless instructed by their lawyer. You guys (well, most of you guys) know what you're doing especially when navigating the justice system.
See that's the thing because he has not been technically charged yet he's currently only under a cloud of suspicion that he probably, allegedly, supposedly had some level of involvement in the matter. So as long as he's not been formally charged technically under American law he's free to do that when he is ultimately charged with the crime and his name is firmly attached to guilt then at that point the government can step in and say no you cannot make money off of, or profit off your crime.
So, somebody writes a book of fiction and changes their names to Zany, Kylee, Marty and Eddy with a 5th victim to throw off speculators and moves it to Oregon. What's the difference?
I won’t read any books about this case. I don’t like people who get rich off a tragedy. I want to see the trial and evidence first before I form an opinion.
If his lawyer is intelligent, he can claim that his client is a depressive homosexual repressed by his parents who had an extreme psychotic episode and that resulted in the murder of 4 young people. So when playing the homosexuality card, it calls on LGBTIQ to defend itself, because as everyone knows, if LGBTIQ can impose its gender ideology in schools and universities, imagine what it is capable of in a court of law!
The defendant has a right to either a speedy trial, or he has a right to waive his right to a speedy trial. Above all he has a right to a fair trial. It is difficult for the families of the victims. People want “justice “, but justice requires a fair trial. Not necessarily a quick trial. It is important for justice for all.
@@KDSimaI’m not saying he’s innocent, but I am saying he’s innocent til proven guilty. It’s American law, most people forget this. If he waived his right to due process, the trial could take 8 years to come about.
I call this book bs. I mean... BEFORE trial??? Idk man. Anyone can write a book and say whatever they want. We want ACTUAL answers... and the families DESERVE ACTUAL answers. Makes me sick. Maybe try putting that effort into finding answers instead of trying to make a quick dollar from their pain and loss.
Facts don’t ALWAYS come out in Troy🙄🙄🙄🙄. The defendant won’t take the stand and tell all. We will never know the entire truth unless Kohberger sings which he obviously won’t

Why is this information coming out before the trial?? No one should be exposing these details and on top of this, there is no evidence to back his presumptions.
In this guy's world (the author of the book) its just a race to be first to publish. He obviously doesnt care about putting information out there that could potentially affect the trial. Not to mention the fact most of his conclusions are speculation and are basically fiction. If this guy had any ethics as a journalist or integrity, he would continue researching throughout the trial so that the book included all of that and the outcome.
They never should have torn the house down until after the trial was over. Rest in peace to all these great kids that sadly and viciously lost their lives by a psychopath.😢💔🙏❤️
This is absolutely disgusting! How is something like this allowed to be published BEOFRE the defendant has even been tried! Especially given the fact there is NO actual evidence been proven yet and things in the PCA have been proven not true or irrelevant as per Bill Thompson himself said in court! This could seriously affect the jury pool as its world wide publication and people might assume what’s in it is true! The teaser I read of it had so much misinformation in just that portion that i dread to think what the rest is like! This book needs stopped! The author should be disgusted in himself trying to profit to this degree on murdered children! The Judge should be ashamed of himself aswel for not gagging books and people profiting from it especially before anyone has even been convicted! If Bryan Kohberger is innocent and or found not guilty this will ruin his life too! The amount of false information that will be in this book should be amended by BKs attorney who should have a say in what is said about her client! He makes up conversations and thoughts about Bryan’s family that he just has no idea about whatsoever! It’s disturbing!
If everything in the book are facts and those facts aren't violating the gag order, a person has the freedom to publish. Do you live in N. Korea or something?
I am curious about what lies may have been told to BK's family by LE when LE was attempting to collect information about BK. It is a tactic to imply they have evidence or know something they don't.
@@devonglide1830 well we know the stalking isn’t factual for a start! This is insane. Seems like we know about 10% of what actually happened in this case and now this author is allowed to write a fictional book and it gets to be released before a man goes to trial for murder!?? What if he’s actually innocent?

It is disappointing (at least to me ) that ABC News has joined the likes of News Nation, Daily Mail and Enquirer in promoting a fallen-from-grace author's attempt to remain in the headlines. The fact that much of his "information" has been found to be false, per Prosecution (car, stalking, phone pings and oh so much more ) does not seem to deter the author or those (some who may be future jurors) taking the words to be gospel. The chances of a fair trial become dimmer every day.
This is why America is doomed. We have an author who put out a book about what this person's motivation was before a single word of testimony has been spoken, before he could possibly know anything about any of this. I suppose he might not just be making things up if the defendant's lawyer is working with him, but I somehow doubt it.
It's horrible waiting for these trials, but in some cases like this one and another good example is the Lori Vallow/Chad Daybell cases...the longer the trial takes the more information is collected on the suspect and a better case can be made.
Don't buy the book its all base on thoughts he should ask the roommate's they know more than said Bryan being set up he must be the only guy with white elantra all ya the video of the cars are black and white so wrong car
awfully risky to go after one target when there are six more people in the house. if he had been watching Maddie he had to know that she didn't live alone. i would think that would deter a killer, not encourage them. not sure that i agree with this theory.
I also bekieve Maddie was the target. And that's all. He disn't bother having other people in the house but he knew that night would be a quiet night as in no party inside and he knew their habits...they were at least tipsy (not to say stupidly drunk). And no one can do much when you have that type of knife in hands. The 2 other girls were just lucky Now, following that, we do not know how the 911 call and how the sequence of events took place...
You are a greedy *** for putting this book out before this could go to trial! You are jeopardizing the justice these young people & families are waiting for!!!Shame on you Sir!😡
He's just speculating, the way we do in the comments. His book will have no bearing on the case anymore than our comments. He doesn't know anymore than we do.
Big Universities in small town run much of the economy & thus everything else. They prob felt it was not in the best interest for enrollment to keep that house up. Coming out of COVID on campus enrollment was at an all-time low. The off-campus housing market in that area prob really boosts the economy. I'm not saying it's right, but I think that's what happened. If case is affected by a technicality regarding that premature demolition it would be shameful.
@@positively_broad_st3780that's not necessarily true there are instances where sometimes the judge does allow for the jury and or even sometimes the judges will sometimes accompany everyone over to the scene of the crime and they are allowed to walk through and take a look that does happen periodically not very often but it does happen.
I agree, going to the crime scene in this case was important because of the unusual make up of the house, and acoustics for the two girls there who were not murdered. And why it’s strange he went out of his way straight to Maddies bedroom. That house should Not have been demolished until after the trial and also the families were vocal about it not being demolished until after, where do there feelings count to the University. It wasn’t the universities house in the first place, so it wasn’t in their budget, and they can’t put other kids in a new house being built there because apparently the site won’t be used for housing anyway.
@@Scorpio72350 I, in turn agree with what you say about the house not being the university. You sure wouldn't know that by the way that the university snatched up ownership of the house. I thought it was very odd that the university would rush to buy the house out from under whoever, owned it. Then immediately turn around and give instructions to have the house destroyed. The first thing that came out of my head was that, that was the most ass-backwards thing I could ever think of. My secondary thought to all of that in turn is WHY couldn't the University's efforts and subsequent maneuver of demolishing the house have been looked at as though it was 'interfering with a police investigation', or 'tampering with evidence'? Those would be my two biggest questions.

I think they destroyed the home to prevent copycats, unnecessary bad pr, they are afraid that the place becomes some kind of sightseeing destination for creeps. The perps (yes perps, plural) were KNOWN to the roommates. The house usually full of ppl wasn’t on that night. A night of a big game. M and K killed directly above DMs room, a room with wooden floors and she didn’t hear them getting killed? The girls upstairs just sat silently as they were attacked? K allegedly had over 50 wounds. DM claims she heard K say “someone here but nothing else?”… She also claims to have heard X sobbing from her closed room door around the corner but also didn’t hear X and E getting attacked? Then, she calls a frat Bro called Hunter J in the morning so he can find X and E? A kid who himself was ALWAYS at that home and that same kid in a vigil speech highlights the fact that E owed him $$$ which he’d never get. wtf?! Can’t make this up. IMO, the roommates know who and the why and the Prosecution already gave the actual perps immunity in exchange of their information on a *rug organization. There’s informants in this case; hence, all the secrecy. It’s related to *rugs and the police and prosecution took the word of criminals, liars, and clear suspects to attempt to look like heroes in the eyes of the public. BK had no ties to these kids, and was not stalking, even the prosecution admitted that much, yet, he decided to go into an unknown home and kill a bunch of unknown ppl? For what? Motive is important ppl. The state fumbled this case and have no way out than to send an innocent man to death row. Smh 😠
the defense is table pounding, because they literally dont have the information they need from the prosecution, to mount a proper constitutioanlly given defense. Their table pounding is not unwarranted. if the police or the prosecution had enough evidence to say Mr Koberger is guilty of this crime, they should very quickly be able to show this evidence and provide how they obtained it. as of Today the in court sessions have literally proven that they do not have that information, and the PCA is mostly made up nonsense... Brian may have done the crime, but it is their duty to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.
How do you stab 2 people at the same time I mean there’s two in each room. How does one don’t wake up trying to fight back also how you leave the crime scene with no blood trails after you no blood on the knife sheath. I don’t think he did it
You know nothing of this case. He killed Maddie while she was still asleep. Kaylee DID wake up at that point and fought back. She had defensive wounds. She could not escape because of the layout of the bed and the room. She was trapped against the wall. In the second room, Ethan was probably also stabbed while asleep, but we know Xana fought back. But she was no match against a psycho with a knife. They were 4 sleepy, drunk college kids. He completely caught them off guard and had a knife. It's not hard to understand.
So, they've said they have Brian's DNA on the knife sheath. But, his DNA should be all over that house. Until they show DNA evidence of him actually being in the house, the DNA on the knife sheath and a witness who ID'd him based on "bushy eyebrows" and even the proximity of his cell phone to the scene, I don't know if those things are enough to convict beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt. To KNOW he did it, we need DNA that places his body inside the home. I guess we will find out at trial. Also, what a wild oversight to not strap the knife sheath to your belt. I guess what I'm saying is, if they DON'T have his DNA all over that house, and the DNA on the knife sheath is all they have, I could be just as inclined to believe that was planted there.
@@thisisgettingold Planted by whom? The defense will have to blame someone specifically and make it make sense in order to convince a jury. He can't say this, this is just speculation on his part. Koberger has not had his trail yet. Whats happened to innocent until proven guilty. We all have opinions on this case, everyone has condemned him before his trail. We will have to wait and see if the evidence stacks up against him.
He also claims to have listened to the 911 call. Both are not true. It couldn't be. He goes by the narrative that Bryan was stalking them and postings on social media which has been proven not true.
Mr. Blum’s book was wonderful. Did he speculate? Yes I believe he did exactly that. All he really did was take all the known facts and in conversations learned more and then wrote and basically put everything together, he’s a very smart man and I believe is probably spot on. This isn’t his normal genre he seems to specialize in past historical events. This is the most current subject he’s ever written about. I actually found his writing style to be entertaining (despite subject matter) in his years of journalism he has certainly found a way to tell a story. In our justice system…. Remaining silent is absolutely the smartest thing to do whether you’re guilty or innocent.
In fact, defendants often stand mute at initial proceedings because a not guilty plea will be entered on their behalf automatically.
In my opinion it is taking entirely too damn long for a trial date. These families as well as the victims deserve justice.
It's horrible waiting for these trials, but in some cases like this one and another good example is the Lori Vallow/Chad Daybell cases...the longer the trial takes the more information is collected on the suspect and a better case can be made.
No normal person turns off their phone and drives around in the middle of the night for no reason.

Just unreal! The only country in the world where ya get books released about a crime before the accused has even stood trial!! Seriously what sort of justice system is that!!! Just mental
This is why people need to stop making their location apparent on social media.
Does that have a meaning? It is a garbge book.
This already proven to be false information. He never stalked them on social media/there isn’t any evidence he did.

@@raymondfrederick why not? I would not do it, and I'm male...
Why is he waiting a book now? The trial hasn't happened yet? This is not right. One person can not go around killing 4 of 6 people, & you are telling me no one screamed, or made a noise....He either had an invisible accomplice. Or, it had to be someone else. As, the only DNA was on the sheath ...give me a break.
After, looking at the stuff, the Prosecutor put forward, missing parts....it seems they don't have a case.
6:43 - He was deliberately silent during the guilty/not guilty plea in order for Anne Taylor to work on getting the Grand Jury indictment removed.
I dunno...pretty early for a tell-all book...especially when you have nothing to do with the investigation or case
Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that i think the bald guy in the suit at the end of the video is the real killer. He looks creepy AF!
This book is not true journalism, it's one sided, the there's nothing worth reading. He didn't touch on other theories or what community members, such as students, that didn't fit his view
I think Matti, disrespected Bryan in someway or fashion, or he may of showed interest in her and she insulted him,or even publically humiliated him, and revenge was set in his mind,so its then when he snapped!
Guys like that imagine disrespect...they see these cute girls with popular outgoing social guys and feel like they are unattainable and that they are not on a level playing field because of their own social awkwardness.
MADDY not MATTI. No, he saw her working as a waitress in his veg restaurant. Then he fixated on her and contacted her on social media and she did not reply. She did not publicly humiliate him. She was a sweet young woman and kind.
Making any kind of money off of this sick crime is ridiculous. The judge should of put a stop to it right away. This is AMERICA though...Be ashamed of yourself
Apparently you don't like the 1st amendment. The judge can't stop a writer from writing and publishing a book.
@@billyyank5807 i love the forst amendment sir but cmon what if that was your brother or sister...would unlet the guy make a buck off of them be honest
I think Maddie was the target too… I think Kaylee got hurt worse protecting Maddie! She’s bigger more outspoken. I have said this from day 1. The others were collateral damage. Wrong place wrong time. Plus Kaylee had moved out. Wasn’t supposed to be there. She got a new car maybe he didn’t recognize it.
I think he's guilty. When they arrested him he didn't ask why he was being arrested. He asked if anyone else had been arrested too. Guilty.
This is disrespectful the case hasnt been tried yet
This is horrendous. 4 beautiful ppl snuffed from this world.
Yall! What a bunch of BS! This writer is taking your money. Literally! This case is so much bigger than what we are all being told. You all need to be asking questions. Just cuz this guy is quiet doesn't mean he did it. I'm just started watching many different cases and it's mind blowing how much we think we should be doing if we were so called sitting in that defense chair. This while case don't add up. From watching different body cam from different noise complaints and from ring cam of how officers conduct themselves in that town to the president of the University writing about the murders and being updated daily on the investigation. What in the World? Not gonna say there isnt some shadyness coming from defense side either. But I have a problem with all the hearsay of what kohberger was doing here and there. Seems very convenient. Don't get me started on everybody thinking how creepy the dude looks. This guy is most likely and my gut says now he is innocent...his life is ruined. He thought he could be exonerated because he didn't do it. He has been set up. I full heartedly believe that now. Looking at the Aryan stuff going on in that area and knowing FBI was there well before Nov 13 and still there. Yeah! I think we should all be questioning this. Everybody kept thinking it was like a professional in the beginning because of what was being told to us, the public. Think about it. No DNA in his car, no ties to the victims, why is prosecution needing his alibi do bad if they have the evidence which they claimed to turned over? What if it comes down to, his phone was never turned off? What if there is 2 hour data and the State is hiding it thinking they can bully this guy into saying he did it. 🤔 If I am out driving by myself, I wouldn't remember exactly where I was at certain times so I would need the data to show it. He gives more info of the why why park and now state is double checking their work? Get out of here! They are lying to us to cover the bigger stuff going on. There is a major problem in that area. 2 colleges, students, and money flow. Great market for all kinds of misbehavins. Here is an idea....Google Aryan and click on the news at the top of the page. But don't if you scare easily. It was an eye opener for me. Kohberger is being railroaded and I finally feel free from this case. There is no longer the mystery. The 2 mom's are the kickoff to this with no victim shaming. Once you go down that path. It basically ruins you and everyone around you. 😢 speaking from experience. 4 beautiful people lost their lives and families are devastated. 💔 heck! The whole world is! Justice is warranted but Kohberger isn't the guy. Setting aside emotions. Think!
Why is this case so complicated????? So complex? The Judge and the two layers from both sides jeep saying this, Why? What is so complicated if they have the information? Ohhh! There is no connection to the victims. All these search warrants and they still can't link him to the victims. Why? All this stuff handed over to the defense but the main meat pieces are missing? 🤔 SMH! We are expected to think this guy went into a room with two people to do a horrendous act and then go into another room with two more people and not have battle wounds? Get out of here! All the while the other two roommates hear something going on that sounds like, a party going on? Oh wait, didn't we hear they were scared and had locked their doors because they didn't know what was going on but it was loud and all. It's always the first news that is most likely what happened and not the later stuff because of all the twisting of the words. Also that front door was left open. I say it was more than one person who went into that house. Not Kopacka and not Kohberger. Ain't a bunch of frat guys either.
Its not the Aryans. The murder style is typical Santa Muerte/Narco/Syndicate. Maddie had a history of not thinking she had to pay for thinngs. She was even heard talking about it on the surveillance..
Drug related murders, these kids lost a lot of money had had to pay the ultimate price
How is a book out already if there is a gag order and BK might be innocent, this is insane 😳
Who was photographed with Ka-bar knife and second knife ? Coroner investigation showed two different sharp objects were used ! Dylan M.
He can't say this, this is just speculation on his part. Koberger has not had his trail yet. Whats happened to innocent until proven guilty. We all have opinions on this case, everyone has condemned him before his trail. We will have to wait and see if the evidence stacks up against him.
How does this guy refer to grand jury testimony which is usually shrouded in secrecy???
He also claims to have listened to the 911 call. Both are not true. It couldn't be. He goes by the narrative that Bryan was stalking them and postings on social media which has been proven not true.
Once again, it's the usual suspect in the brutal murder of kids.
But Kohberger says he didn't do it, and the law says he's innocent until proven guilty.
I’m surprised to hear family say they never spoke to him but then I guess he was writing about what he had heard not directly from family. The book was well written. A little premature but well written. I’d like to see a follow up from him after the trial
To release a book based on mostly speculation and not facts is outrageous,no matter the publics opinion on the mans guilt or innocence he like every citizen in this great country of ours has the right to be tried fairly and unbiased. To be allowed to release the book before this case has even made it in front of a judge and jury is not right
Disrespecting the privacy of the surviving roommates by using their full names in his interview (and likely his book too) is a new level of low, ontop of how distasteful it is to write a book to profit off this tradgedy....
If he did he's getting sued
Survive is guilt too they are involved
I am not sure. There is just no evidence.
How do you sleep at night monetizing this before the case is even settled.
This is a haunting case...
I don't believe for a second one person did this
did yall see the detective’s eyes walking out of the home after the killings 😳 poor guy 💔 poor kids 💔
“Filling in the gaps” based on complete and pure speculations and assumptions?! 😂😂😂😂 Isn’t that a total oxymoron in and of itself? Absolutely ludicrous and laughable! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 NO ONE’S GONNA CONVINCE ME OF HIS GUILT UNTIL ALL THE FACTS OF THE CASE COME OUT!
How does it take well over a year to set a trial date?
How does it take the prosecutor over 1 1/2 years to not turn over all the evidence?
Why do people have zero patience anymore? And how do people not know this is entirely standard operating procedure?
It’s not abnormal at all

Pavarotti is the ONLY person who has done the work and put the pieces together to show what happened that morning, with recipes of course.
This guy needs to stand trial once and for all . Not saying anything was really uncalled for . If he and his lawyers say he’s innocent then why the heck didn’t he just say “ Not Guilty “ Sitting there silent like an idiot is an admission of guilt or just sheer stupidity and ignorance on this dude’s part . He’s guilty !!
Your honor and respected jury, just look at the defendant sitting there in silence exercising his 5th amendment and not admitting he’s guilty because he very well may not be as the evidence so far presented is weak and flimsy and not enough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he is guilty. Clearly this man is guilty based on this sort of terrible deductive reasoning. Amiright!? 🧐
He is innocent. Set up! Look at the info. He didn't know them! Aryan search in Google should help. P ri so n G a n g check it. Scary

It doesn’t look good for BK. being circumstantial evidence or not. But these parents are painting the kids as these perfect angels. But wasn’t the house basically not only a party house and they were selling drugs out of the house? Which can implicate soo many other people. This case is very odd.
Talk about speculation... Selling drugs out of the house? 🙄 And pretty much any house rented by students in a college town is a party house. Stop blaming the victims and they were good kids.
