I was in the class in Phoenix earlier this year and I can state that it was outstanding. It gave me an insight that I never had before. The real beneficiaries of this course will be the students that I can pass this information on to. Thanks Mas and Marty.
When we did DFI moot court at FAS in 2015, my most vivid memory was how the Platonically-ideal "friendly jury" composed entirely of long-time gun owners, veteran concealed-carriers and experienced firearms/CCW instructors, who had literally just completed nearly 40 hours of intensive education in deadly-force law, reviewed the facts of the case presented before them...and deadlocked. That should put to rest any remaining fantasies of trusting in an automatic acquittal by a "jury of your peers," when literally the best possible jury in the world can still deadlock, or even convict you...
Yeah, getting a jury of your peers is a pipe dream as they say, in this day and age. What's even sadder is how Prosecutors care more about convicting & punishing self defenders while rewarding habitual violent criminals.
My stress in court was as a juror. Our courthouse jury box held 12. There were 13 of us.(1 alternate) I was the only juror that wore a suit. I sat just to the right of the jury box. To my right was the defense attorney. To his right was the defendant. When the witness was asked to identify the perpetrator, she pointed to me! My first thought was to get up and go home, this isn't worth $11 a day. I didn't do anything but the wave of emotion was significant. I was just identified as a felon by this woman. It probably didn't help she was deaf and there was no interpreter. The defense attorney loved it of course.
Hi Mas, maybe you can do a video on police wearing body cams.? How it can changes the behavior of officers. That behavior being detrimental to the officer and his safety. For me, I act the same as I always did.
