I love the amount of humour in this game, and how it knows how to poke fun at itself (e.g. with that ghost/skeleton thing there). Not enough games are like that.
My account recently got upgraded to where I could upload long videos...I just uploaded a 1 1/2 hour one, actually. You should have this ability as well...would LOVE to sit back, relax and watch and listen to you doing a long LP. You deserve more time!
Funny because last night I gave my Meteorite Armband to the Pilgrim for the exact same reason you suggested. It's annoying getting killed before the healing spell hits you, or getting silenced by Vampire Cats before you can put them to SLEEEEEP. (For those confused, when I talk about being Silenced I am referring to Stopspell, which in Final Fantasy games is called Silence or Mute. Getting "Stopspelled" just doesn't sound right!)

I would definitely like to see an LP of The 7th Saga. I've never played it, but apparently it's so difficult it makes Dragon Warrior 2 seem easy by comparison.
in the SNES version os this game the Thief class has an ability that can let you know what chests contain before opening them... it even has an ability that can tell you how many chests are in the room or floor you are in, its really nice.
Another worthy point. Since Defense Power = defensive gear + half your Agility, the Meteorite Armband boosts DP by an amount equal to half your base Agility. So if your Agility starts out at 40, the Armband has an effective DP of 20! And as you level up and get more base Agility, the Armband's armor effect gets better and better! And that inevitably leads to the question: I wonder if Speed Up and Slow have side effects equivalent to Increase and Defense?
im suprised that you didnt comment on all the kitties in Isis castle. In Egypt cats are reviered as gods something to respect. However here in Japan we see cats as good luck charms! Cats FTW!
@BlueEye096 FFXIII installments come out every morning at about the same time. He's also settled into an every other day rhythm for DWIII. You should be able to reliably predict when the videos will be up.
Yeah, the first time I came through here, I got destroyed by the Man-Eater Chests (or Canniboxes as they're known in the fan SNES translation)..who knows, they just might have an even more obscenely powerful cousin later on..who just might also KILL YOU. This is another one of those potential multi-trip dungeons like HC mentioned, so if he can get everything in one go, that'd be awesome to see.
hcbailly do you plan on doing 7th Saga in the future? You mentioned it as if you've played it to completion before. That's a really hard game that took me a long time to finish and would make for a great run to watch.
@Aurabolt IIRC, Luck boosts crit rate, not Agility. Even if it did, I still wouldn't give it to the Fighter. She's already fast enough to outpace almost any enemy we encounter, so the only benefit would be to increase their Defense Power. I'd rather give it to the Pilgrim, who could use both that and the ability to crowd control a group before they can attack me.
In the GBC version (which would be nice to do a LP of plz) a fighter with the Quick personality can get Def numbers double that of the warrior with the arm band(Starry bracelet).
@XhaosXin Well in 7th Saga you have easy access to powerful buffs in the item shops, and certain relatively strong physical attackers have the equivalent of this game's Upper spell. If you had the Meteorite Armband on the Wizard and used Increase right away, the Man-Eater Chest might be manageable. And if you gain a few more levels, your two lead characters can get well into triple-digit HP territory, making it easy to survive the chest's attack.
That´s pretty nice, that you got a meteorite armband quite ealry in the game. I rellay like those things ;D I don´t know...but if i would know which chests would be monsters and which not, i´d still fight them...just for EXP or fun XD
That Armband really only worth getting in THIS particular game because an increase in agility Constitutes a Quantum LEAP in defense unlike the other DW Games. Give it to the party member with the HIGHEST Agility
I'd say the Full Plate Armor is more than "marginally" better than the Chain Mail your soldier is still wearing. It's +12 defense better, which is rather significant at this point in the game. Of course, earning the gold for multiple copies for your party could be a problem, but if you have the gold, you should get one.
HcBailly, I think this is about the 12th episode where you said you like green hair. I haven't actually been counting but that's about what it feels like. Though to be fair, I don't think you've said it multiple times in the same LP.
The Meteorite armband is kind of obscene in future versions of the game, if you put it on a thief. I was ultimately thoroughly unimpressed with thieves on a whole, but with a Meteorite armband their armor becomes ridiculous. My thief had more defense than my soldier for the entire remainder of the game, and capped at 255 for most of it.
@TheAncientGamer He does have the ability to upload long videos, but he doesn't want to record and edit long episdoes. At that point it stops being fun for him and in turn no fun for us.

Hu, I'd actually argue the 'puzzle' with the song & switches is rather easy. Okay, maybe it was easier in the GBC version with 4 switches and slightly weirder instructions.. Argh, false treasure chests. I hate those. Especially back in Lufia IIs Ancient cave...
@DiosGX I'll say she did. I'm surprised that FF4 didn't go further with respect to Rydia's sex appeal, though in the accurate translation Edge does act pretty obnoxious about it. But I agree that a character like Rydia needs to have a healthy dose of self-respect and integrity. Not every young female wizard can be like Angela from Seiken Densetsu 3....

Don't get me wrong, I like grinding but everything has a limit. This game just was nothing but tedious for me and watching HC grind for a week until he can get the next dungeon done... No, thanks.
