  • Salary question is always a sensitive matter.
One thing we know for sure is that you should not bring up salary questions/negotiation in the interview. If the employer asks or insists, you need to handle the matter carefully.
If asked about your current salary, keep in mind, to be honest since they will find out sooner or later. And do not be the one to name the salary figure or amount of compensation first. You do not want to low volume yourself or price yourself out of their range. That being said, the best answer to this question is below.
“Based on the responsibilities that are involved with the position and the level of importance I know that this company places on the role, I’m confident that the right candidate would be properly compensated “
However, depending on the company/industry you apply for, they might expect you to answer this question with a specific numerical figure. In that case, look up Glassdoor or LinkedIn to research typical salary range for the position you applied for, and prepare your answer before the interview.

I think that the best answer to this question should be: Based on my research, I expect a flexible payment of certain amount or according to the roles of this position, I would feel more comfortable with this.

I have been in many interviews and each time I answer a diplomatic answer like this they do not like it. They always insist of knowing a number or a range of what you are expecting. So in addition to this nice answer I recommend to add what do you expect based on the position and responsibilities , and after doing some research on the internet.

I disagree with the "don't! " part. Half the reason you're interviewing to is obtain the job and you have a right to know the pay. Especially if youre interviewing at different places with different locations

THIS WAS A VERY GOOD ANSWER. BUT, IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE PAY RATE FOR THE JOB ANYWHERE. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO ASK. " I CAN'T FIND THE PAY RATE FOR THIS POSITION ANYWHERE. IT WOULD BE INCOMPETENT OF ME NOT TO ASK." OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.IM AM NOT AN EXPERT AT THIS.
