- Two Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies were hospitalized after being shot by a suspect early Saturday morning. Lt. Chad Anderson was shot once in the arm, which went into his chest. He went in for emergency surgery and is currently in critical, but stable condition. Deputy Craig Smith was shot four times. He is in stable condition and in intensive care.

He had done nothing wrong in the original press conference, but now they've added on that he refused to leave. And no, anyone like that would NOT be a "self-proclaimed" sovereign citizen, because everyone who has the ability to read AND comprehend knows that is an impossible term. No one can be free and a slave at the same time. The United States Code terms people who were born here, but do not wish to be a US citizen (a completely different thing,) as "nationals." Before you complain about "US laws," you might try reading some first. Apparently, US citizens don't know or care about US laws either, especially so-called law enforcement. This man was attacked and murdered.
I think the news outlet added the refusing part. But as said in the original press conference, yes, he did something wrong by being in a closed park and refusing to identify himself. The term sovereign citizen is actually very fitting. It's a citizen who believes himself to be sovereign who is actually still a citizen. There is a proper way to renounce your citizenship and most sovereign citizens don't do it. He started shooting at the deputies first. He wasn't murdered.
@@Cameraflyer- When the Sheriff says sovereign citizen what he really means is a Noncitizen American National. An American National is a natural born American before they get their birth certificate. We are all American Nationals but not all of us are 14th amendment citizens. A 14th amendment citizen is a subject of the state. The status was meant for children born from former slaves. A national is not defined as a subject. Even if he doesn't mean it, the Sheriff is essentially defaming all Americans who abide by the Constitution of the United States. Basically, if you don't comply to his deputies orders, you will be graveyard dead. Mimms [Pennsylvania V. Mimms] didn't even apply because it wasn't even a Terry stop. Dumbass deputy proceeded to do a Terry anyway. Then they attempted to break into his car violating the 4th amendment. The victim rightfully shoots the Deputy . Fla Stat 776.013(3)(d) is a statute that applies after the facts. It does NOT prohibit occupants of a dwelling or vehicle from protecting their life, liberty, or happiness while their 4th amendment rights are being violated by the Police. You don't have to be a sovereign citizen to rightfully kill cops attempting to kidnap and murder you.
